I remember spending hours with my dad playing this thing, it was just pure fun.
Pretty straight-forward game, with a nasty twist when that bugged plane in stratosphere comes, and is to high to get shot down but you can still touch him and crash.
The sound effects really are spot-on - the sound of rushing wind, the Doppler effect, the rising sound of doomed engines as you plunge to the ground...all from the SID chip!
I remember the feeling of not knowing what was in a game - nobody knew the rules yet. People just made some stuff up and programmed a game around it :)
Nowadays we know the rules. Books have been written about how to write a good game. Boring :-/
did you know that if you were really good at this game you could park your plane on the bottom of the screen under the buildings this was my show off move,i loved this game thnx for posting it !
Fantastic!!!!

I remember this game. It used to frustrate me because I always crashed into the refueling station. It expected you to land on there very lightly.

One thing that amazed me about this game was just how good the sound effects were.
They hold up, IMO.

No problemo, glad you enjoyed it :)
I get the same feeling with a lot of C64 games, memorable for their sound effects and quirky tunes.
