@atmosver64 E36 m3 3.0l US spec = 240HP e36 M3 3.2L US spec = 240hp, what changed? 200cc and a lot of restrictions due to emissions laws, and also because they needed to make cheaper car components to US market, because shipping the Euro-Spec was too much expensive , this affecting the sales. By the other hand The 3.0 Euro spec had 284HP, while the 3.2 Euro had 320hp. If youre gonna call someone an idiot , be sure not to be one too, do your homework first :)
@ottooke007 the grandsport does not do a 4.5 second to 100km/h theres no maserati except for the mc12 and maserati race cars that could do a 4.5 second to 100.

@JuveTube777 Can't remember anymore. The fact is the E36 M3 3.2L Evo is not a shitty car. It has 325 hp with 350 nm and a 0-60 time of 5 seconds stock. That's performance, especially when the car is relatively cheap. Also the chassis is really, really good.
@MegaRekyyli maserati granturismo s has 440hp 0-60 4.8.sec (some managed in less) 1/4 mile 12.9 seconds, looks 100 times better.... this BMW is a good car but its uncomparable to the GTS....

It's up to the drivers who get's the better start, not the cars. The Maserati weighs 1880 kg and the BMW 1515 kg. That's a difference of 365 kg. That's a huge difference! So it goes without saying the BMW is more nimble in corners and as we can see from the quarter mile time, it's not even that much slower on straights. So yes, it is comparable!

The driver in the Maserati might not be as good as the driver in the BMW or he just screwed up the launch. Besides, 0-60 times can vary quite a bit depending on the conditions. It is more than possible that the BMW can beat the Maserati.
