Thank you SO very much for sharing this amazing taping....I've NEVER heard Marvin a capella...let alone singing my most favorite song of his...and as others have already pointed out...what a TALENT!
lol. i love how u can hear him tapping his toe and snapping his fingers in the background if u listen hard enough. i can just imagine marvin actually doing the song in the studio.
All I can say is with ALL the Advances in recording techniques...they went and messed up how vocals are recorded because when you listen to the motown
vocals they have little more than reverb and a little echo to the mix. And it's as if you could here the personality of the vocalist. Somebody needs to start recording vocals like this again ( less plug-ins and more natural voice ) this is simply AMAZINGLY GREAT!!!
I agree. Another thing is that alot of the singers today really aren't that good. They are fixed up in studio recordings and lip synch at their shows. I guess they pick them because of their look or the record company's ability to control them instead of their artistry like those of days past. Sad, truely it is.
@allen6924 Recording has become lazy and TOO focused on hitting every note the exact way it was written. Theres no pain/personality/ feeling put into it in chart music anymore... and im saying this as a 19yr old! :(
Micheal voice when he was between 10yrs to 13yrs old had the greatest voice for RnB of any of his idols, listen to the acapella versions of "who's lovin' you" " I'll be there" etc. he was a freak of nature. though Marvin was and is a great vocal stylist, for pure tone and power you'll never hear a voice like micheals in a thousand yrs he had a gift that is beyond compare and I love both of these vocalist.
Yes they can be in the same sentence, because without marvin's influence we don't have MJ
@allen6924 When I think pure voice...With the ability to be both seet and raw....I will always think Sam Cooke first. Gospel, Soul R&B, Pop....He could flat out sing....And Marvins' not slow leak either. Micheal could sing also, but for pure voice...Sam's the man.......
How sweet is this ? wonderful wonderful. i was honered and privelidged to hear marvin sing this @ the Liverpool Empire 1976. still got his signed programme .
what lyrics.. wow <3
