@BasicModelling to make it really shiny use Revell 34 ferrari rot red it makes anything really shiny but before if you use it add one layer of normal red paint on. :)
i totally agree that some bits are easily broken i broke the 'rigging' part under the stabiliser and part of the landing gear. i salvaged a bit of plastic from the optional landing gear part and had to just glue the landing part back together.
This video got me hooked on modelling. I haven't even built it yet. But i'm buying a truckload of paints so i can finish some oldish models, and also a stirling so i can get the sunderland aswell through af club membership!!
@MilitaryAircraft101 I want a Sunderland as well, it's a classic aircraft.. I believe the only reasonably priced kit, if not the only kit at all, on the market is the old Airfix kit, which has a few flaws, but to me it still looks like a Sunderland.. :)

This is one of the worst models i made, i put too many paint, i didn't like the pained plastic from factory, it looked a bit transparent :I. I never finished it, it needs cables and some parts broke!. At least your model looks perfect, i don't know how, but with any simple mode, you could make a masterpiece!
I always like this kit over the Airfix kit of the DR-1. Smer makes the old Aurora kit from the 50's. Fun and easy kit to build in 1/48th! Ditto for the Revell & Smer/Aurora Camel!
@BasicModelling I know how that feels... I have a 1/72 DH.2 which I picked up from a local airshow, I brought it home and it my dog's tail claimed a victim.... its now in a box in 13 VERY small pieces.
@MTwillman Not quite sure in what scale the CORGI planes come.. but this is 1/72 so it is quite small.. bearing in mind thet the Dr.1 was a very small aircraft even in full scale.. :)
@kf103 Both Revell & Eduard has made some very nice Fokker Dr.1's in 1/48 scale, and Revell has an old, but still very nice kit in 1/28 scale, I believe.. so ther are some larger versions on the market! I only did mine in 1/72 as that is the scale I prefer.. even in 1/48 it isn't very big, though.. :)
@888HamilkarBarkas888 Yes, apart from the odd US Navy Cagbird.. and the Tigermeets, there's very little colour on the planes these days.. I miss the Saab 37 Viggens and their splinter camo 'fields and meadows', but even they went grey at the end of their service life.. :P
@Reemusfull Thank you! You can get some nice kits in 1/48 scale now.. or even larger.. :) As a carbuilder you may find that 1/72 is a bit too small.. :)

@SUPERSOCK4L1FE Ah, well.. yes, there was a reason why they gave it away.. You can always make it as the shot down / crashed version of the Richthofen plane.. That'll make a nice little diorama.. :)
In my opinion, yes.. it doesn't need much rigging, which makes it an ideal WWI plane to build.. But getting the wings right can be a problem! However, the kit is cheap and it is well worth giving it a try.. :)
I have finished the Academy IL-2 Sturmovik a while ago, which I posted a 'private video' of, just before my computer gave up.. so now we shall see you in dress SwAF uniform, ja? :)
I have a load of photos of me in dress uniform, but they're with my parents in Sweden.. :) Glad you're up and running again, with your new computer! I'm honoured you chose one of my vids to be viewed first.. :)
Very nice!!! I know what you mean about a magnifying glass. I looked at jeweler's loops when I was into this before, and have been known to wear two pairs of reading glasses at once, one over the other. :)
My Spirit is, I am ashamed to say, still in the box, exactly as when I last showed it. I have stuff all over the place right now, because I cleaned out a closet. I'm thinking about turning that closet into a work space for models so I can close the door and the cats can't get in there. That's the hold up. I have more stuff here than anybody in the world has, and no place to put it!!!
Yes, I know you meant the Tiger Tank.. :) It would make for an interesting 'What If' model though.. :) The Russians (amongst others) tried the concept of a flying tank in WWII, but it didn't work very well, and they gave up trying pretty soon.. :)
Thank you.. you can't go wrong with a Fokker Dr.I in your collection.. in any scale!! And there are other options than just the classic von Richthofen red.. :) Personally I'd like to build a black and white plane with a face painted on the cowl.. I think there must be decals out there for one.. somewhere.. :)
May I express my opinion, that the red looks a bit toooo bright? As the original planes of WWI were smaller thann those of WWII, so are the kits: I might have broken ALL the small parts^^.. I were off a few days, and will return with some new vids soon!
Just for once (but I won't make a habit of it) I will agree with you.. but I had no other red handy.. and it doesn't look too bad on the model itself.. :) But yes, a tad too bright, perhaps.. :) Yes, I had noticed your absence, and am glad you're back.. looking forward to your videos! Going in to visit son in hospital this afternoon, then probably return to work tonight after a week on sickleave because of my bloodpressure.. :P
Good idea.. It's not a bad kit with a little bit of work! I did a search on 'PM Ta-183' on Google, and the first thing that came up was my own video.. :) I think it was a fairly straight forward build, if I remember correctly.. :) SuperScale has made a decal sheet of modern German insignia in 8 different sizes, that you can use for most model scales. It's sheet no. SS72090, but I don't know how easy it is to come by now. :)
Thanks.. unfortunately WWI type aircraft tend to need an awful lot of rigging.. :( This plane is one exemption from the rule... :) Don't think I have ever built, or bought a kit of, a F-8 Crusader.. Nope, I lied.. I was given a kit by somebody once.. no decals and no canopy!! Needless to say it is not top of the building pile.. I need to source a spare canopy from somewhere, to fit a Hasegawa 1/72 F-8 kit.. :) Interesting plane, based on the Corsair II, but I may be wrong..
I would really like to have this kit, so thanks very much for the review. It would be nice if iit were in a bigger scale. We have this one in our sim. Rumor had it this plane could turn 180º on it's own length. Not quite in the sim, probably not quite for the real plane. What do you think? Otherwise I appreciate the review.
I don't know the flying qualities of the real thing.. and all machines flying today are replicas.. but I do know it was very manouvreable.. :) You can get an Eduard kit in 1/48, or a much bigger Eevell kit in 1/28 scale.. That kit comes complete with von Richthofen and 2 groundcrew, puse decals for an early version of the Richthofen Dr.I, like the one I did, or the later version, as it looked when he was shot down.. :) All kits are currently available, so the choice is yours.. :)
Machine guns and engine look terrific, nice touch brushing them dry.
Looks like a very fragile kit, well done using that wire. Perhaps some red paint would have made it look more like fabric less like plastic. The base is a great addtion :)
Sure did, Sir.. The only time ever that I didn't paint the plastic was back in the days of glory, when the original (no need to paint) Matchbox kits roamed the earth, and I just did them straight out the box.. sadly they disappeared around the same time as the dinosaurs, and probably for the same reason. Revell has genetically modified Matchbox clones in their boxes these days, but it's not the same as a kit in 3 different coloured plastic.. :)
Yes, I had to use a strong light as I took the photos late in the afternoon, and the kitchen has no sun at that time of day.. The wings are quite thin, as they would be on the real thing.. but it is painted allright, and 'KLEARED'.. and then a matt varnish on top of that, to seal the decals properly and remove any 'blemishes; after the clear.. It dried more 'satin / silk' than matt though.. and I think it should possibly have been a slightly darker shade of red.. but hey.. it's done..
..and dusted too.. soon eneough if left on the shelf in the bedroom! I may well take this to TOZO in due time though, and take another kit with me home.. :) 'Tozo' likes us to rotate the models from time to time.. :)
Video please.. I like to see that thing fly.. Got the Fokker D.VIII as well, by the way.. It used to come with the option of Herman Gorings all over white plane, but not any more, it seems.. The 1/48 scale version still has that option though, I have that kit as well.. but my 1/72 will be as used by the Finnish Air Force.. I have after market decals.. :)
Well it does look good :) I saw a Revell Fokker D.VII today and was I tempted! And a 1/72 Me110E which also looked pretty good.
Off to buy some pasta or something for dinner. Let us know how the family is doing. /by the way you seem to be gettting some attention from KratzenbourgII on your channel, I'm sure you noticed.
Yes, thanks.. I noticed, and have dealt with it accordingly.. The Me 100E is an ok kit, if you want a totally empty cock-pit.. My son bought it for me for my birthday this year, I need to do some research on the 110 so I can scratch some sort of cock-pit interior.. My son is losing his hair gradually now, but is in good mood and doesn't mind. It's all part of the process.. He's more annoyed over having to stay in hospital, albeit a local one.. He wants to be home! I had pasta for tea.. yum..
I think it was the revell model. The old nachtjager on my shelf was the italeri, looked pretty decent. I'm so glad to hear your son is taking it well, hope the treatment takes effect soon.
I got some of those pasta things, a bit like ravioli but with egg pasta and various fillings. Best thing is they take 2 mins to cook ;) As they say "rice is nice, pasta is fasta"
The Revell kit is the old Revell-Monogram kit, and over all good, apart from the cock-pit interior, which would make the likes of Airfix look brilliant in comparison!! Speaking of Airfix, they're still keeping to the old concept even with their brand new kits like the Bf 109 G-6 and the PR.XIX, which are both just very basic in the cock-pit.. t they have changed the design of the pilot, but that is it.. if anything, the Bf.109 G-6 is a snap-together!! Pasta is indeed fasta.. :)
Well, I just like WWII nightfighters, and hope to get a small collection from various countries and theatres of operation.. The latest 1/72 Revell P-38 gives you the option of both an ordinary P-38, or the 2-seater Nighfighter version, so I may well get going on that sometime soon.. Trouble is, the kit is slightly over-engineered, displaying both the gun compartment and the engines.. if you want to!
Only nuicanse with the guns is that there's one place less to put the weights.. but I probably won't show any of it.. only more work to model, and more things to break in transport, should I chose to take it to a show! I'll see how it goes on assembly, I don't want a tailsitter.. :)
Sounds like a top kit you have there. You can never have too many options. Having a bit of a P-38 phase right now, as far as trawling wikipedia is concerned.
A flawed but beautiful plane, incredibly fast for early war (like mig-3 I guess). And the top US ace rode in one ;)
Plus having all those cannon stuffed in the nose nacelle thing is awesome. None of that 'fire-through-the-propellor' nonsense!
Well, that's what I really like about all this.. everybody hypes on about the P-51, but like you said, the top scoring all over US Ace flew the P-38.. of all planes.. and the top scoring Aces in Europe flew the P-47.. (Boxted, drone.. drone.. repeat myself, drone).. not to mention that the 'individual' plane with the best score was a B. Buffalo.. and we all know that the P-39 statistically was the all over BEST US fighter.. P-51? Bwahaahaahaahaa haa.. sorry, I've just woken up.. :) Bwaahaahaa.
Well, thanks to your modelling videos I actually like the Mustang these days, especially the B version.. but yes, over all and all things concidered, it wasn't really that brilliant.. apart from the range, which few, if any, could beat.. otherwise than that, there were both faster and harder hitting US fighters during WWII.. :)
Oh and of course, it is a good sign you are still busy with the models! It always occupies my whole mind when I do it and relieves certain stresses ;)
Yes, modelling is a great mind distracter.. Nearly completed the 1/72 ICM Messerschmitt Bf 109 E-4 Nightfighter (Yes, I DO build NEW kits from time to time, not just kits that were made 40 years ago!!) but I have a bit more decalling to do.. the decals are awfully thin, so care has to be taken.. relying on my decal spares box for the balkenkreuzes, as they were missprinted.. :( All will be shown in the video.. the scheme is a very complicated German all over black.. :) :)
Yes, shame they didn't survive for very long.. mind you, I guess the survival rate of the 'allied' WWI pilots increased dramatically, once Richthofen himself had been shot down.. somewhat ironic he should fall victim to ground fire.. :P
ive got a revell 1:144 VII C uboat which im going to be doing, but not just yet as i havent made the spraybox yet, so im going to get a tiger tank today i think, but you know what its like, you get there and you see something else... lol nice build, and with snapping things, it can be easily done, which is a pain in the backside
Yes, I know exactly what it's like.. I got out an Airfix 1/72 Wellington bomber yesterday.. ended up working on my S-Tank instead, when I really should be completing the Spitfire PR.XIX's.. I think the Bf 109 E-4 will be done first though! So yes.. I know.. :)
I like this plane. One of the great old warbirds.:) Things are runnung slow tonight but I'm trying to watch vids and upload a few of my own. I hope the treatment is going good & everyone is well.
You can get Dr.I's in 1/48 (Eduard) and in 1/28 scale (Revell).. so no excuse if you want something bigger than 1/72.. The 1/28 kit is large, I started it but never completed it.. may get another one at some point, it's not a bad kit.. :) Comes with a figure of von Richthofen and 2 groundcrew.. :)
Yes, except for my last submarine, which got exported to the US of A.. Some of my best are on long term display at the model shop, but other than that, yes, I keep them.. as long as they're good enough! If very bad they're probably thrown before completion.. :) I haven't got many left of my very first models though, sisnce I took up the hobby again..
It went in a cardboard box, courtesy of whatever airline.. :) Most of my models are on display on some shelves in the bedroom (see my '51 Models' video) where they collecrt a nice amount of dust.. some, like I said are on show at the model shop, and some I store in some drawers, again in the bedroom. Quite a few are in my 'Show boxes', packed and ready to go on the club display stand at any model show I attend. I change the content of the boxes from time to time, though.. :) That's it, roughly..
Just had to say hi mate, good to see you enjoying what you love best. Used to make a few models when younger but have not the patience now, will watch you instead.

tankman13p66 2 years ago
Thank you.. it sure was a fun build.. :)
BasicModelling 2 years ago
Very nice!!! I know what you mean about a magnifying glass. I looked at jeweler's loops when I was into this before, and have been known to wear two pairs of reading glasses at once, one over the other. :)
kalacaw 2 years ago
How's your 'Spirit' coming along??
Now I will have this image stuck in my head all day, of you with two pairs of glasses on.. :) :) Thank you.. :) :)
BasicModelling 2 years ago
My Spirit is, I am ashamed to say, still in the box, exactly as when I last showed it. I have stuff all over the place right now, because I cleaned out a closet. I'm thinking about turning that closet into a work space for models so I can close the door and the cats can't get in there. That's the hold up. I have more stuff here than anybody in the world has, and no place to put it!!!
kalacaw 2 years ago
Yes, that could be a problem.. but problems are there to be solved, or we wouldn't have any.. :) :) Keep us posted.. :)
BasicModelling 2 years ago
I'll keep you posted on my spelling corrections, too. Loups. Jeweler's loups - not loop. DUH!
kalacaw 2 years ago
i very nearly bought that model yesterday but I choose the tiger 1 hashwaga kit instead!
hoolahoop75 2 years ago
Hey.. it's almost the same thing!! Paint it red and NOBODY will tell the difference... :) :) :) :) Ha ha ha..
I am joking.. of'course.. Good choice for a kit!! :)
BasicModelling 2 years ago
i meant the geman tiger 1 tank but put 3 pairs of wings on and paint it red then i guess...
hoolahoop75 2 years ago
Yes, I know you meant the Tiger Tank.. :) It would make for an interesting 'What If' model though.. :) The Russians (amongst others) tried the concept of a flying tank in WWII, but it didn't work very well, and they gave up trying pretty soon.. :)
BasicModelling 2 years ago
im sure they did
hoolahoop75 2 years ago
They did indeed.. :)

i newer liked WWI planes but your vid made me buy one! well done chap love te new rating bar in the discriptsion!
theres always a problem vith highly detailed cockpits at te end you might not see it or just bearly !
5/5 :)
tenka45623 2 years ago
Thank you.. you can't go wrong with a Fokker Dr.I in your collection.. in any scale!! And there are other options than just the classic von Richthofen red.. :) Personally I'd like to build a black and white plane with a face painted on the cowl.. I think there must be decals out there for one.. somewhere.. :)
BasicModelling 2 years ago
May I express my opinion, that the red looks a bit toooo bright? As the original planes of WWI were smaller thann those of WWII, so are the kits: I might have broken ALL the small parts^^.. I were off a few days, and will return with some new vids soon!
BaronKrolok 2 years ago
Just for once (but I won't make a habit of it) I will agree with you.. but I had no other red handy.. and it doesn't look too bad on the model itself.. :) But yes, a tad too bright, perhaps.. :) Yes, I had noticed your absence, and am glad you're back.. looking forward to your videos! Going in to visit son in hospital this afternoon, then probably return to work tonight after a week on sickleave because of my bloodpressure.. :P
BasicModelling 2 years ago
I think i'm going to buy this model too for my diorama what i'm going to make soon and i'l make a preview of it but very nice WWI aircraft 5/5
BasicRevell 2 years ago
Thank you.. It is a nice kit!! Just make sure to paint it in a slightly darker red than I did.. :)
BasicModelling 2 years ago
I used some of the nice decals in this kit to adorn a PM Ta-183, to make it a post war west german aircraft. Still need to build the tripe though.
TurbineDogSevenFour 2 years ago
BasicModelling 2 years ago
Very nice build. I need to build a WW1 flyer. I am in process of building a F-8 Crusader. Take it easy!
atomicdog32 2 years ago
Thanks.. unfortunately WWI type aircraft tend to need an awful lot of rigging..
BasicModelling 2 years ago
I would really like to have this kit, so thanks very much for the review. It would be nice if iit were in a bigger scale. We have this one in our sim. Rumor had it this plane could turn 180º on it's own length. Not quite in the sim, probably not quite for the real plane. What do you think? Otherwise I appreciate the review.
ToppervisionEnt 2 years ago
I don't know the flying qualities of the real thing.. and all machines flying today are replicas.. but I do know it was very manouvreable.. :) You can get an Eduard kit in 1/48, or a much bigger Eevell kit in 1/28 scale.. That kit comes complete with von Richthofen and 2 groundcrew, puse decals for an early version of the Richthofen Dr.I, like the one I did, or the later version, as it looked when he was shot down.. :) All kits are currently available, so the choice is yours.. :)
BasicModelling 2 years ago
Great music!
Machine guns and engine look terrific, nice touch brushing them dry.
Looks like a very fragile kit, well done using that wire. Perhaps some red paint would have made it look more like fabric less like plastic. The base is a great addtion :)
GerbilEssences 2 years ago
Red paint?? What's wrong with Humbrol enamels?? I used plenty enough.. :)
BasicModelling 2 years ago
I don't think you painted the plastic?
GerbilEssences 2 years ago
Sure did, Sir.. The only time ever that I didn't paint the plastic was back in the days of glory, when the original (no need to paint) Matchbox kits roamed the earth, and I just did them straight out the box.. sadly they disappeared around the same time as the dinosaurs, and probably for the same reason. Revell has genetically modified Matchbox clones in their boxes these days, but it's not the same as a kit in 3 different coloured plastic.. :)
BasicModelling 2 years ago
At 5:16 you can see the decal cross through the top wing!? ah well I will take your word that it's painted :)
I'm about to cover my wings, wish me luck ;P
GerbilEssences 2 years ago
Yes, I had to use a strong light as I took the photos late in the afternoon, and the kitchen has no sun at that time of day.. The wings are quite thin, as they would be on the real thing.. but it is painted allright, and 'KLEARED'.. and then a matt varnish on top of that, to seal the decals properly and remove any 'blemishes; after the clear.. It dried more 'satin / silk' than matt though.. and I think it should possibly have been a slightly darker shade of red.. but hey.. it's done..
BasicModelling 2 years ago
..and dusted too.. soon eneough if left on the shelf in the bedroom! I may well take this to TOZO in due time though, and take another kit with me home.. :) 'Tozo' likes us to rotate the models from time to time.. :)
BasicModelling 2 years ago
..and good luck in covering your wings.. :) easy does it.. :)

A tissue. A tissue. It all falls down!
Well hopefully not in this case...
GerbilEssences 2 years ago
Video please.. I like to see that thing fly.. Got the Fokker D.VIII as well, by the way.. It used to come with the option of Herman Gorings all over white plane, but not any more, it seems.. The 1/48 scale version still has that option though, I have that kit as well.. but my 1/72 will be as used by the Finnish Air Force.. I have after market decals.. :)
BasicModelling 2 years ago
Well it does look good :) I saw a Revell Fokker D.VII today and was I tempted! And a 1/72 Me110E which also looked pretty good.
Off to buy some pasta or something for dinner. Let us know how the family is doing. /by the way you seem to be gettting some attention from KratzenbourgII on your channel, I'm sure you noticed.
GerbilEssences 2 years ago
Yes, thanks.. I noticed, and have dealt with it accordingly.. The Me 100E is an ok kit, if you want a totally empty cock-pit.. My son bought it for me for my birthday this year, I need to do some research on the 110 so I can scratch some sort of cock-pit interior.. My son is losing his hair gradually now, but is in good mood and doesn't mind. It's all part of the process.. He's more annoyed over having to stay in hospital, albeit a local one.. He wants to be home! I had pasta for tea.. yum..
BasicModelling 2 years ago
I think it was the revell model. The old nachtjager on my shelf was the italeri, looked pretty decent. I'm so glad to hear your son is taking it well, hope the treatment takes effect soon.
I got some of those pasta things, a bit like ravioli but with egg pasta and various fillings. Best thing is they take 2 mins to cook ;) As they say "rice is nice, pasta is fasta"
GerbilEssences 2 years ago
The Revell kit is the old Revell-Monogram kit, and over all good, apart from the cock-pit interior, which would make the likes of Airfix look brilliant in comparison!! Speaking of Airfix, they're still keeping to the old concept even with their brand new kits like the Bf 109 G-6 and the PR.XIX, which are both just very basic in the cock-pit.. t they have changed the design of the pilot, but that is it.. if anything, the Bf.109 G-6 is a snap-together!! Pasta is indeed fasta.. :)
BasicModelling 2 years ago
Sounds a little too simple 4 my taste...
GerbilEssences 2 years ago
Well, I just like WWII nightfighters, and hope to get a small collection from various countries and theatres of operation.. The latest 1/72 Revell P-38 gives you the option of both an ordinary P-38, or the 2-seater Nighfighter version, so I may well get going on that sometime soon.. Trouble is, the kit is slightly over-engineered, displaying both the gun compartment and the engines.. if you want to!
BasicModelling 2 years ago
Only nuicanse with the guns is that there's one place less to put the weights.. but I probably won't show any of it.. only more work to model, and more things to break in transport, should I chose to take it to a show! I'll see how it goes on assembly, I don't want a tailsitter.. :)
BasicModelling 2 years ago
Sounds like a top kit you have there. You can never have too many options. Having a bit of a P-38 phase right now, as far as trawling wikipedia is concerned.
A flawed but beautiful plane, incredibly fast for early war (like mig-3 I guess). And the top US ace rode in one ;)
Plus having all those cannon stuffed in the nose nacelle thing is awesome. None of that 'fire-through-the-propellor' nonsense!
GerbilEssences 2 years ago

Mustang schmustang as they say.
GerbilEssences 2 years ago
Well, thanks to your modelling videos I actually like the Mustang these days, especially the B version.. but yes, over all and all things concidered, it wasn't really that brilliant.. apart from the range, which few, if any, could beat.. otherwise than that, there were both faster and harder hitting US fighters during WWII.. :)
BasicModelling 2 years ago
Oh and of course, it is a good sign you are still busy with the models! It always occupies my whole mind when I do it and relieves certain stresses ;)
GerbilEssences 2 years ago
Yes, modelling is a great mind distracter.. Nearly completed the 1/72 ICM Messerschmitt Bf 109 E-4 Nightfighter (Yes, I DO build NEW kits from time to time, not just kits that were made 40 years ago!!) but I have a bit more decalling to do.. the decals are awfully thin, so care has to be taken.. relying on my decal spares box for the balkenkreuzes, as they were missprinted.. :( All will be shown in the video.. the scheme is a very complicated German all over black.. :) :)
BasicModelling 2 years ago
Those marvelous men and their flying machines...
PappyStu 2 years ago
Yes, shame they didn't survive for very long.. mind you, I guess the survival rate of the 'allied' WWI pilots increased dramatically, once Richthofen himself had been shot down.. somewhat ironic he should fall victim to ground fire.. :P

BasicModelling 2 years ago
ive got a revell 1:144 VII C uboat which im going to be doing, but not just yet as i havent made the spraybox yet, so im going to get a tiger tank today i think, but you know what its like, you get there and you see something else... lol nice build, and with snapping things, it can be easily done, which is a pain in the backside
U48 2 years ago
Yes, I know exactly what it's like.. I got out an Airfix 1/72 Wellington bomber yesterday.. ended up working on my S-Tank instead, when I really should be completing the Spitfire PR.XIX's.. I think the Bf 109 E-4 will be done first though! So yes.. I know.. :)

Awesome! i wish i built 1:72 scale now!
SUPERSOCK4L1FE 2 years ago
You can get Dr.I's in 1/48 (Eduard) and in 1/28 scale (Revell).. so no excuse if you want something bigger than 1/72.. The 1/28 kit is large, I started it but never completed it.. may get another one at some point, it's not a bad kit.. :) Comes with a figure of von Richthofen and 2 groundcrew.. :)

do you keep all the models you make?
svinehunden 2 years ago
Yes, except for my last submarine, which got exported to the US of A.. Some of my best are on long term display at the model shop, but other than that, yes, I keep them.. as long as they're good enough! If very bad they're probably thrown before completion.. :) I haven't got many left of my very first models though, sisnce I took up the hobby again..
BasicModelling 2 years ago
did the submarine fly or sail? ;)
that must be a nice collection by now. you build a lot of models... :) how do you keep them?
svinehunden 2 years ago
It went in a cardboard box, courtesy of whatever airline.. :) Most of my models are on display on some shelves in the bedroom (see my '51 Models' video) where they collecrt a nice amount of dust.. some, like I said are on show at the model shop, and some I store in some drawers, again in the bedroom. Quite a few are in my 'Show boxes', packed and ready to go on the club display stand at any model show I attend. I change the content of the boxes from time to time, though.. :) That's it, roughly..
