I was looking for a good foreign art/fantasy film and a friend recommended me this movie. I read the reviews, therefore, I couldn't find a blu ray that is below $30 for this movie. Most reviews I read were bad. I took my friend recommendation and the blu ray is worth the $35. The storyline was great no twists or turns. The first time watching this movie I was on edge from the beginning of the movie til the end. It's emotional. The visuals and music were stunning! A true epic!!

@Sammie4416 I have to disagree. It is an OK movie, and even then you have to watch it very open mindedly since everything is almost opera-like, too dramatic, two over-acted by the cast. The CGI sucks most of the time. This was the most expensive asian movie and it is a waste of time (ok, the soundtrack is good, I'll give them that). Watch "Hero", "House of a Thousand Daggers" or Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. Those are awessome movies.

Just watched it last night and this afternoon. Stunning, beautiful, mysterious, somewhat dark, magical, and fast-paced and action-packed story and visuals. What more could you ask for?

It takes watching it more than once to completely understand it, though, since different things go so fast.

This movie has one of the best original soundtracks ever. Beautiful scenery, too, lol. And plus Hiroyuki Sanada and Jang Dong Gun are in it, so that should be enough reason to just watch it already. :P And they're speaking Cantonese!! O-O!!

in german its named "wuji - die reiter der winde" . that means in english " wuji - the horsemen of winds" O____o

i think such great films are often translated wrong in german , just because they´re not as popular like "batman" or some other top ten movies =_____=

How can you exchange the power to be every man's desire in exchange to a life without love. So she can hav any man she wants but she won't ever fall in love with them??? or men will desire her but not love her??? i guess i'l hav to watch the movie, the cinematogrophy looks awsome but is the storyline good too????

its an interesting film. more of an aquired taste. its put together in an odd way. you definetly have to see it a couple of times before apreciating it. i'd suggest renting it first.

Reviews on this have been mostly pretty bad, which is why I've avoided it, despite being a big martial arts film fan. But I really like the look of the trailer - it's the only one of the big-budget, international swordplay movies of the last decade that looks like it has some of the surreal imagination and nuttiness of the Hong Kong ones from the early '90s (like "The East Is Red," for example). I think I'll actually check it out now.

@vggfsfddhg Yeah that sounded confusing...What it meant was that she had some charm on men because she was so beautiful (like sirens), & so the king would take her as his and she'd be a princess instead of a poor orphan. But the price was that whoever she loved back truly would be lost.

Personally, I don't think that was a wise trade, because she could be so easily abused for her beauty and anyone who loves her for her would die

PS the story's a bit complicated but very clever & creative
