  • You are clearly having fun with this, creating such images of a world turned all catawampus.

The villanelle form works especially well for this theme.

I have also been listening to other pieces you do in this form and have concluded that it is probably the best form to match the normal rythm of your speech.

    A totally delightful experience. 5*

  • What a fantastic affirmative comment, thank you. To think that my poetry is so well received makes the 'effort' of publishing it all worth while. I have enjoyed the rigour of fitting my thoughts into such a tight space, found it invigorating in a way. Again, thank you!

  • This is my favorite one so far. 5/5 and xo

  • Funny peculiar in the mix with with funny haha - just for fun really, which is appropriate! Glad you like it, thank you.

  • Delighted to hear another of your villanelles performed! This one has delicious alliteration in it and beautiful imagery =)

  • Thanks Raven. I was surprised how hard I found it to memorize this one for the video - I think the somewhat surreal set of images had something to do with that!

"With nothing left but wind to weigh".

  • An ethereal dream. We crave innocence and that which can't be seen.

  • I enjoyed putting myself in 'another' place to write this, pure escapism really. Thanks for your thoughts, PulsarPoet.

  • "While we danced light the lead ballet

    where yesteryear is sometime soon

    'twas once upon a faraway"

  • A lyrical confection ! Sweet and light.......

I like the alternating refrains....and the fairy-tale quality..... and the ironic metaphors with which it is replete are worthy of Oscar Wilde !

And, of course, your signature -- mellifluousness ( with alliteration thrown in, to boot ! )
