Watched this vid on youtube countless times and still gives me tingles. For me this was the pinnacle of V8 Supercars in OZ. The sounds, the looks, the attitude of the car, the drivers. priceless.

@LadyboyAgogo How is it "so safe and gay" ? More drivers have been killed and badly injured in current cars than were in group C. I have found V8 supercars lacking in recent years and I find the two brand thing a bit boring. Lately, however we're seeing a much more competitive field with newer guys and smaller teams challenging and winning. I'm not saying they've got it dead right, but it has improved. It's a little hard to how we'd turn back the clock...slow the cars down ?

@gcmc2 more have been killed now because of the speed ,the bathurst race started dying when they built that castrol chase remember when it was the bravest braked last at the end of conrod straight and the guys used to build their own cars in their backyard ...its too corporate and boring now im glad i experienced the old days ,i dont even bother watching it now and the cars were as they were virtually off the showroom floor ,now nothing is ''standard''

This was way beyond cars "virtually off the showroom floor" or built in back yards. Nascar blocks, huge wheels, big race brakes etc. Money powered winners then just as now. It's still a braking duel for the brave on conrod. I can assure U that although these cars are pretty stable, driving any race sedan at 300kph takes quite a lot of nerve. It aint "safe & gay"

i have a calypso green xe with a worked 351 clevo, hardly any of them around here in perth. tru blu and greens tuff = best cars ever around bathurst. v8 supercars today are shithouse to watch, rather rewatch classics like this anyday. top vid.

im a diehard holden guy but this clevo sounds fucking insane(i'll cope alotta flak but the fords v8 getting its neck wrung is the best sounding group c car ever!!) gotta love group c, these guys brock, johnson,harvey,grice etc had nuts you'd carry in wheel barrows! watch the vids on these cars they squirm and dance around under brakes slide in and out of corners dodging slower cars and some time dicks casualy having a chat and today we put up a v8sc visual diarrhea where did it all go so wrong

@2GoRightGoHolden Im not sure who made the cams for Dick, but certainly Wade cams made cams for many of the group C cars including a lot of the winning Holdens and Falcons. The will still have the grinds record
