Ok the song is great, but I would LOVE to find out who the go-go dancer is on the upper right pedestal... re-watch this video and watch her dancing, she is truly-truly amazing! You have to remember this was the 60s *** most women *** did not dance with this kind of enthusiasm. Say it again... Amazing!
I'm looking at the gogo dancers in the background and I'm thinking of the line from a robert rodriguez movie where someone says, "wail baby!" Anyone know the movie? :)
I just left Lynn's retirement party and am amazed.....Lynn Easton has been a personal friend of mine for the past 6 or so years and until today I had no idea and no hint to this phase of his life. He is one of the most caring and compassionate men I have ever know....add to that his humor you find a combination that can't be beat. Now I a taking some time to see him as a "Rock Star"
Retired from where? I have been the biggest Kingsmen fan all my life. I've always wondered where these guys went, I am a huge Eastman fan! Please let me know. These guys were so important in the evolution of rock!
@SuperSlohan They were originally from Portland, Oregon. They now do an occasional show in Seattle for a special event, just for kicks - but from what I heard they retired back in Portland. Not sure if it's true - but they certainly seem to be sticking around the pacific northwest.
The music is great...the dancing looks like a circus. I wonder if people 40 years from now are going to look back at us and think how stupid we look. ouch.
I was stationed at McChord from 76-82...my ex was from thyere and she would tell me how she woudl sneak out of her house and go to the Castle. Plus I worked with a civilan on base who introduced me to the Northwest Sound being from Ohio I only heard of the Kingsmen he introduced me to the Sonics, Wailers etc..
You're right. But there is some controversy, John Lee Hooker was singing a song titled "I need some money" prior to Barrett Strong, and the lyrics are almost the same.
Cool song! Just a thought btw, if you still have the original source material, try transcoding to Progressive scan, as I think that should get rid of the lines in all the fast moving scenes. Otherwise, nicely done and what's the name of the show their on?
P.S. Those cages the girls are on look well unsafe but the dancing is awesome!
I prefer Barrett Strong's version, Wikipedia says..this song was covered by a plethora of artists, including Buddy Guy,The Beatles,John Lennon during his solo career,The Kingsmen,The Rolling Stones,Led Zeppelin,The Doors,Pearl Jam,Jerry Lee Lewis,The Flying Lizards,Shonen Knife,Secret Machines,The Sonics,The Smashing Pumpkins,Hanson,Cheap Trick,Josie and the Pussycats,Great White,The Blues Brothers,The Avengers,The Supremes,Jr. Walker &the All Stars,John Lee Hooker,The Miracles& Etta James!!
@69charger440sixpack Why not? It's not life or death, only a bit of trivia, magazines/programmes can be wrong too, it's not a big deal, chill your boots
The Climb, I've never heard.....but I DID hear an Olympia station (KGHO) play "The Witch" by "The Sonics" today. It was cool to hear it on the radio again after all these DECADES! Also, I saw Pat O'Day doing a TV commercial on Seattle's KING TV last nite. (He was a DJ on Seattle's KJR radio station. By the way, Mark Lindsay (Paul Revere & Raiders) does an oldies radio station every Saturday Night in Portland. He also just opened an Oldies Music Cafe downtown Portland this past month.
The Kingsmen were a great Pacific Northwest Garage Band back in the early and mid '60s along with the Viceroys, Sonics, Beach Combers and Wailers!! Long live Seattle Rock!!! "KJR Seattle Channel 95!" Whatcha think Pat O'Day???
i like those girls.they have nice bodies, and dance nice. i like their hair. they eat well i bet. i also like the song "money money". it is a good song.

i was playin' drums in columbus ohio back in 63' ...sigh...
the kingsmen were the tuffest bant for us...
we even learned "the kingsman intrduction"...a tune that gave every one in the band a moment to play a short solo and introduce us to the audience..
then the british invasion hit...
and we jumped on board.
but we always respected the kingsmen!
