  • i agree its so hard. its not like a drug or alcohol addiction where you can not do those things and still live (i'm not by any means saying that it is easy to kick any of those things) but i mean you are always gonna have to deal with food, you have to have food to live

  • Thanks hun!!! You are amazing too!!!

  • I dunno I think loads of it has to do with being accepting of it, good days and bad days, and not judging ourselves for it...I'm glad your feeling better! And if your not then congrats on fooling us all...that's the first step right? Take care! Have I told you how much I like your green wall?

  • I so understand having the two 'parts' in your head and the ED being 'part of you'. ambivalence can be hard to manage.

Also, I'm sorry you had a bad weekend... but hey, you've come out of it!

I also find that having an 'emergency strategy' to help you when you feel you're relapsing is a really good one.

Very well said; you talk from the heart sweetie!

  • Thanks Cathy!!! Your video kind of completes mine this week.

    Love you hun!!

  • Thank you so much Fran:) This really helped me to put into perspective how I was/am feeling. I became teary eyed at the end, because it's true - I want a future and I won't have a future if I continue with the eating disorder behaviours...(it seems like such a simple complex, but this was a huge "aha" moment for me...) Thank you so much for your thoughful answer! - Sarah.

  • Sarah, so glad I could give you some encouragement. Keep up the fight!!!

    Much love,

    Fran

  • i also agree that when u are inpatient it is easier to be motivated. i never went inpatient so in the beginning for me was really really hard! but i've gotten through it and for me, it was a gradual process that i had to talk myself through and if it was too hard, i would talk with my mother and she would talk me through it as well!!

  • Having the support of loving ones is really necessary. They can really guide us to the right path again.

  • Great video.... :)

  • Thank you!!!

  • Fran! (Karen here:D) Awesome video! I give you huge love for your dedication to your own recovery, as well as sharing yours w/us. You're a very generous spirit, which feeds your overall bounces back to recovery. I'm proud of you, darling. :)

    xxx,

  • Aww Karen, thank you so much!!!!

    Love you hun!!!

  • I like several parts of what you said, Fran. If I had to list them in order of most supportive help, a knowledgeable treatment team is critically important, but what seems to have the greatest emotional impact is you feeling loved, accepted and significant by a friend who is not only compassionate but willing to honestly help your think things through so that you will make YOUR choice toward wholeness and health. Happy hugs to you and the recovery channel team.

  • Hey!!! Thank you so much!!!

Friends can be our best doctors, you know?

Hugs back at you!!! Stay strong and thanks for watching!!!

  • Excellent video :)

My therapist tells me it's okay to keep that ED self in the back of my mind right now. I can't force it out. But by slowly accepting the other parts of me and embracing them, I'll let go of the ED without even noticing. It's difficult and there is always the possibility of setback, but you know that and are better than those setbacks!!

  • Thanks!!! That's true!!! Keep on fighting!!!

  • The ED part will disapear, with hard work and preseverance. If we work toards recovery, we will bounce back and forth maybe for a while, but one day, without even noticing, things will slow down. :D

    great video hun <3

  • Thank you Rita!!! Yes, that's it :)

  • Nicely said. Life without Ed is well...... Life!

  • I couldn't say it better...

  • Hello Fran~ it's amazing how you can confidently use the words "i'm stronger" and "i'm gonna be cured" =) thank you for bringing up the motivation-to-live factor... with relapse it's like this huge alarm goes off in your head & you think "shoot- i totally screwed this up again!" but your video helps me see that THAT is the moment to believe it's gonna get better. Thank you*

  • Aww, so great to know you liked it!! That's the spirit, a relapse is a moment, recovery is for life!!

  • Dear Fran, great video! I'm so glad you reached out to your friend yesterday for support; it seems like you are doing much better now. Loving the optimism and hope that you share... <3

  • Thank you!!!

  • Fran, you rock! amazing video..

I'm in a relapse right now and I couldn't describe it better myself. The devil is stronger than the angel right now. And it is so hard because I don't want a relapse but I can't get myself together and push myself to get back to 'normal'.

Thank you for this video. xx

  • Keep the strenght. It worth the fight!!!

    xoxo

    Fran
