bozzio has a huge kit because he plays MUSIC on his drums, its a completely different idea. Concerto and stuff like that. Its why he has a set of anatomically tuned drums, and a set of chromatically tuned toms. and a large host of cymbals.

Yeah, "just another double bass drummer" couldn't be further from the truth.  John's one of a select few metal players who can really groove - one of my favorites!

For proof that he doesn't need the double bass to kick ass listen to his stuff with the Cult and Helmet. This guy is just a great all around rock drummer, whether it be thrash metal with Testament and Exodus or a good old straight rock group like The Cult

Lots of metal "fans" dismiss him because he played for the mainstream Rob Zombie. They fail to recognize he also played for Exodus and Testament, amongst other highly influential bands.

I love me some White Zombie, and it's probably the best metal MTV ever played. But considering musical ability and how it sounds to the ear, Testament beats White Zombie over the head with a spiked steel rod over and over.

@drunkasssteve Well, I definitely agree that Testament are more technical. In that respect they're better, but I guess, to me, White Zombie had a more original sound. Depends on your definition of "better" ... but both great bands! I just can't stand when some metal fans think better means, faster or more technical only. Sure there's crazy drummers like Dave Lombardo, but I'd take Chuck Biscuits of Danzig for example any day. Far more interesting/diverse style.
