  • With Brooksley Born being spot on about the economic collapse and being spot on about derivatives and the chances for fraud I think she should still be high up in any government. The politicians managed to get fraud off written off of some laws, especially when concerned with financial transactions. Clinton did not like her because he did not want to molest her.

  • Maybe greenspan was right - if derivatives were so obviously a scam why would anyone sign up to them? I'm not a fan of these sort of documentaries where people talk about a person who refuses to talk on camera... or about a crisis that's already happened after the fact ad hoc... this seems better than most but maybe only because it's in line with what i already thought? I'd like regulation fuck it nationalisation of banks but I don't see the WHOLE story presented here, if banks kept trading

  • I mean if it's such an obvious scam why would people keep trading? individuals are ignorant irrational unintelligent idiots but are banks really that stupid after proctor and gamble got had? from what's presented here we're led to believe so.... i doubt it but it still neded regulating

  • crazy stuff.id love to go swimming in a big ol pot of gold

  • Honestly, I don't see it as a consolation prize for her. It seems this job fit her perfectly. Although, I'd say she should have had Greenspan's job.

I don't really know much about her personal politics, but I do admire her for the things she accomplished. She really fought against a lot of sexism.

  • @tattooskin72 She is quite admirable. Many point out the aspects of gender and sexism, which is surely not lost on me. However, as I have stated in the past, I consider those things to be subsets of a larger war. And that is the class war. I consider sexism to be a weapon in that war. Again, I do agree with you. Her very presence has done much for women in high finance.

Yet, be assured there are bitches just as there are dickheads in financial services. Equal opportunity douchebaggery I say.

  • @alowlyapprentice I definitely agree that there women who are guilty. When my mother worked in upper management, she had more issues with women (in the same position) than men (in the same as well). Of course my mother didn't work in financial services...

  • @tattooskin72 My mother was one of those Kool Aid drinking upper management types. LOL XD She totally does not get it.

My father on the other hand, being an academic, has struggled with his knowledge of the world and whether to play the game and try to be on the winning team, change the game, or sit back and watch.
