  • This bus sounds rather awesome, the suburban seating style at the back looks less cramped than our Orion VII NG CNGs. Great Vid!

  • Thanks.

  • Nigga i take dat shit out

  • so let me get this str8, these type of buses New Flyer DE42LFA can b used as a regular fixed route or strictly BRT routes?

  • Regular. We don't have and "BRT" routes.

  • Sure you do - the 79 is supposed to be one, as is the S9

  • No, he's talking about the type of BRT routes that use dedicated lanes. WMATA doesn't have those kind of BRT routes. They have limited-stop (Express, as they call it) routes.

  • nice bus, o btw, how much do these buses cost apiece

  • Not sure.

  • Around 600,000 a piece.

  • I might buy me one lol

  • Yeah after you win the Mega Millions.

  • Or i could rob somebody maybe brandon or i can just steel a DE42LFA lmao

  • yeah lol

  • Ya.

  • I bet the operators at Northern division feel pretty good right now huh?

  • That's the same thing I was thinking. It probably feels so good for them not to be driving Orion Vs and Neoplans all day.

  • Tell me about it.

  • that's the same thing I was thinking blah blah blah blah blah! lol.

  • nice video, what city is this in?

  • Washington, D.C.

  • Ima jack off to this bus man

  • Sexy

  • I know right?

  • PLEASE don't tell me these buses have MAN axles....

  • Don't know yet. I hope not.

  • If they do, it'll make me sick. And I don't want to get sick before I head back up to D.C. on Easter Sunday.

  • What kind of Engine is it?

  • Thats the same thing im trying to figure out.

  • Wait a minute. This was the S9 route but the driver has S2 programmed into the Clever Device?

  • Kinda but I think they fixed it. It said S9 16th and Eastern on the sign.

  • What does the floor says around the rear door area?

  • DO NOT STAND IN THIS AREA.

  • They really strayed from the standard newflyer Interior on almost all of wmata's new flyers

  • beautiful bus man!

  • I was thinking the same thing.

  • When I was on here the Clever Device wasn't working!!

  • LOL. That sucks.

  • Oh yeah just so you know, the route and destination voice on this bus said "Route S2 Destination McPherson Square".

  • They sound like my cities's (SEPTA) second generation New Flyer Hybrids 2008-present models.

  • Comment removed

  • These New Flyers have the same powertrain as SEPTAs newest DE40LFs. Cummins ISL/Allison E Drive. Unfortunetely SEPTA likes the old style New Flyer design better then the LFR or the BRT. But rumor is that New Flyer is going to discontinue the old style within a year or 2. Afterwards SEPTAs purchases will more likely be LFRs.

  • Dang why they discontinuin' the old style. I love the old styles.

  • The old style are the best because of its straight body design unlike the curvy shape in the restyle. Plus that look make it like standard style for a typical bus

  • Dam son these LFA's are hot. Dam its saturday and this bus dosent run on weekends i gotta wait untill Monday =(

  • I know I'm catching the earliest bus possible.

  • You don't really have to. I caught this bus at about 4 or 5 something in the afternoon.

  • nice buses

  • same here, i wish GRTC cop these, but it aint gonna happen

  • Does GRTC even have New Flyers?

  • HELL no!!

GRTC only has Gillig Phantoms/Low Floors, MCI D4505CT's, Blue Bird Xcel 102's, and "cutaway" Fords. If you want to see New Flyers in Virginia, you'd have to either ride Fairfax Connector or go to Charlottesville or Blacksburg.

  • nope, they new to add them to there fleets.
