  • Michael jackson hard to love harder to ignore???????????????????????

Michael Jackson EASY to love and IMPOSSIBLE to ignore!!!

  • Hard to love????

    Bastards...

EASY to love if you only tried!!

    Michael<3 is love

  • Not you too.. he wasn't selfproclaimed! DAMN! Love you mike<3

  • @JM4LAJF Also, Michael was not a kid, as he was older by 9 years, than this guy talking foolishness about him. It would really be nice if people would really do research before sprouting out garbage about someone they didn't even know. Ugh!

  • Oh crap....... they have to down him no matter what..... Cahlick!

  • It's facts man, even though he's not the man he was back in the 80's and 90's, he was still bigger than everyone else because music has now has no creativity, music nowdays is made for nothing but the sole purpose filling party track slots.

MJ and other old hands made music that's universal and sounds good, never followed trends because nowadays for example, the trends are stupid and kid/teens oriented, that makes them manufacturable and always come and go.

  • What I don't get is, the MJ haters, why do they ALWAYS listen in and take an interest on w/e he did. I mean you've gotta be a damn loser if you spend your time on things you hate or are not interested in, I mean why should they care?

  • micheal didn't proclaim himself as the "king of pop"..

it was another famous female artist who named him as the "king of pop"... i just forgot the name of that artist... it was during an awards night...

  • it was Elizabeth Taylor who proclaimed him the 'king of pop'...and she's not an artist, she's a former actress.

  • oh... my bad....

    :3

  • and MJ's best friend

  • its Elizabeth Taylor...when he got an award in 1992 or 1991 (i don really remember) she said "the true king of pop, rock n soul" yes, u true! =)

  • Ugh sorry my mistake! i meant in 1989

  • @JejeLynn I DO!! SHE SAID "THE TRUE KING OF POP"!!

  • I mean everyone is entitled to their opinion. Yes you can acknowledge the "weirdness" but let it be known that this weirdness was created by the MEDIA not by him. I hear them talking about his musical genius but what about his HUMANITARIAN efforts that have raise over $500 million! As MJ said... "Prejudice is Ignorance" If u gonna talk about him have the respect to tell the entire story as it should be told.

  • the guy is very idiot.

  • "the guy is very idiot" haha you're clearly the dumbest person on the internet.

  • haha..lol

  • What was MJ's dying wish? To be melted down into lego bricks, so that kids could play with him for a change but I also hate that prick Jian. Hes a fucking idiot.

  • Why do you think Gohmeshi is an idiot? I quite like him.

  • I agree. He's an intelligent man who is opinionative. How does that make him an idiot?

  • lol

  • when i heard about his death, i thought, a world without Michael Jackson? it felt like something was missing

  • i know exactly how you feel! a big part of my heart tore out when he left, and it will always be broken.

  • ...and his popularity only waned in the US where the press tried their best to make his life a circus sideshow

  • Once again, the media plays into the image they created..ignoring every friend of MJ's as well as artists/people who met him who have spoken up and said he was this totally normal guy, not freaky at all.

Jian Gomeshi talkin bullshit-- originally only 10 shows bumped up to 50, and "he didn't really have a following" ???

"hard to love" only if you listen to front page tabloids! so easy to love if you just listen to him speaking from his heart.

    terrible job, cbc.

  • hitler was an inspiring orator, author, political mobilizer. (blinks pretentiously) let not the freakshow, the allegations obscure the good things he DID do.

I know this is a crazy analogy but still stop beating around the bush you fucker. you conveniently use the phrase "freakshow, circus" as if the man was britney spears, he was accused of SERIOUS crimes.

  • Michael never claimed himself as a "king of pop". It was Elizabeth Taylor who said "King of Pop" first when she was announcing MJ at some kind of award ceremony and the next day newspaper used the "king of pop" as their headline. It was NOT MJ, fucking ignorant host.

  • i know and to say that micheal wasent popular when he died what a fucking idiot his popularity never decreased his legend grew stronger he was one of the greatest human beings to ever live

  • R.I.P if u want to see the best mj tribute, type in- michael jackson juke tribute movie hq...n comment n rate it if u like it....

  • there is nothing wrong with michael! he is just like like any other american citizen.

it is so sad about his death he really was the most amazing man in the world!

    R.I.P MICHAEL I LOVE YOU:*(

  • 1st?

  • There is a beautiful song on Line for Michael Jackson called "Legend Forever" by Soul Bros.feat.James Smith...now being playes on Youtube

  • nothing werd about him

  • this is MJ at his finest! I even got this ringtone free on mjtones. com :)

  • In this day and age of the computer, no one

will ever beat MJ's record of album sales

    I'll bet.

  • wow ray180597 is one angry person

  • Wonderful discussion about Michael Jackson and his legacy.

  • "oh course he's been involved in all kinds of activities?!!" What is that supposed to mean?

  • Michael Jackson did not proclaim himself the King Of Pop. His friend Elizabeth Taylor called him that at an award show, and then his fans ran with that. But Michael never referred to himself as the King Of Pop, Michael was very too humble an individual to do that. I am sick of people misunderstanding him. He was not a freakshow either, the tabloids made a freakshow of him. His name sold magazines so they just kept making things up about him.

  • i agree

  • You couldn´t be more wrong. I feel really sorry for you. to ray180597

  • Really,Oh,i am so sorry!!He was really an angel.....

  • Ray, hallo. Eaven so you do not mean what you wrote back ,you did react. Thanks. You have the right to your own opinion. But just think about it. Would you say the same thing infront of Michaels own 3 children? Please be openminded and read the book "The Michael Jackson Conspiracy" If you than still have the same opinion, I will accept it. The book was written by a media woman who at first thought M.J. was guilty. After looking into the evidence she changed her mind. Maby you will to. Keep well

  • i think jian needs a haircut

  • Jian got it when he said, "the kid had it!".

  • It was funny to watch CBC news anchor person reporting on the hundreds of millions of people interested in Michael Jackson's funeral as if it was a suprise....this just goes to show how out of touch these television stations have become.

Clueless!. Wait untill the next generation of internet kicks in...higher speed better online media quality and tv might as well join Michael in the grave as long predicted.

  • Everyone FUCK THE HELL OF! Let him be for god sakes, sure he was a little bit crazy, but is that necessary now that he's dead? Oh and I'm mostly talking to bearmare who like triple posted every fucking hour. Leave the guy alone, and respect everyones feelings, don't say what you think in this video, say what you think on television so everyone can't blow your ass off with insults, no one cares about what he did, it's about what he's done for us. RIP MJ

  • Oh my god ppl he's DEAD...leave him alone already havent u had enough?! Rest in Peace MJ

  • That reporter is a little weasel. I am not sure why we are still allowed to use the term "freak" as its always insulting. For the first time in my life I dislike CBC.

  • i agree

  • Just watch his performance at the 88 Grammy's and shut up.

  • I think she'swrong about sales numbers.

    AC/DC Back in Black perhaps?

oh ya...Denise killed metal on MM back in the 80's.

  • Jian Ghomshi is so articulate and intelligent. I agree with what he says here. It's only gonna get ugly from here so people need to be reminded what MJ brought to the music industry. Put on one his videos or songs right now. I dare you not to smile and/or dance. Well done Jian. As always.

  • When I see Michael Jackson's videos I see a lost soul who was a pedophile. I'm sure I'm one of many who don't smile or dance.

  • Absolutely, strange how that has all been swept to the side.

  • you're too busy touching yourself?

  • Excuse me Micheal Jackson is a Legend in Music and in Life.... the reason why he payed the money just shows how humble he is... this kid that accused him has cancer what is he gon do... sue them Michael is not that sad he has a heart... He was just a vulnarable man with money and that family wanted to scam him even though all he tried to do was help them... Hes an inspiration and a musical legend the world has lost a part of ourselfs as im sure we all grew up with him...

  • Jian is really an articulate cat and I am envious that the USA doesn't seem to have anyone of his caliber, except perhaps Charlie Rose, Dick Cavett(TV, and Terry Gross(national public radio).

  • I was never a fan of MJ, from when I first became aware of music in the 70s, i was more into hard rock, and this funk/dance stuff was an alien genre. But now, looking back on his body of work, he really did accomplish a lot. Just watch the Don't Stop and Remember the Time videos, and you can see, at different times, a performer that was so in his element when he was entertaining us.

MJ, you definitely get points for trying.

Now, or in a couple of weeks or so, you might finally get some peace.

  • They got a new host? Or maybe I just haven't seen him before..

  • good one, but it's too early

  • I think Jian looks tired because he put together a 2 hour show for Q today from scratch at the last minute.

  • Jian: Host of Q...What about his career with Moxy Fruvous? Eh? Isn't that worth mentioning?? Jian, you rock dude!

  • Jian looks like he just got off a weekend binge.

  • wow Jian,

    you look...tired :S

  • There can be no doubt that M.J.'s contribution to popular music and entertainment is enormous, and there are few who can hope to equal his genius. One could say that his life could have been less freaky, less controversial, and less destructive. But would we have had M.J. who entertained us for so many years? I suppose he could have left his illustrious career, become like Quincy Jones, nurtured new talent and their works, and lived a sane life. But even then, he would not have been M.J.

  • I also remember that at least one of these charges was proved to be unfounded. So, apart from the multimillion dollar settlements that were paid out as shut-up monies, we honestly don't know (Yet) about this aspect of M.J.'s life. Having said that, I'm willing to state that there are more than a few geniuses who were, for lack of a better term, perverted in one sense or another. In any case, we are left to wonder how different things would have been in M.J. had been more normal.

  • He was found not guilty in court but that doesn't mean he was innocent. He paid millions of dollars to two families, so I don't think those were unfounded. Maybe there is a case that you're aware of which I'm not, but if you're right, I'd say that it was probably someone trying to extort him for money because of his history of pedophilia. He never lived in reality, part of that wasn't his fault, having grown up performing. But part of that allowed him to think he was above getting caught.

  • Technically, one can only proven guilty in court. However, while paying millions in shut up monies does arouse suspicion, innocence, at least on a legal level, is intact. However, it's public opinion that cannot be turned so easily. And yes there are far too many people who, because of their position in life, can get away with anything. Same goes with those who hold high political office, but I digress.

  • I would never pay millions to people who were accusing me of the worst possible crime that one can be accused of. Michael had a team of lawyers who could have easily sued for defamation, among other things. When you have money, you have power, and paying the money is an admission of guilt, but there will always be people who will not be convinced of this. Furthermore, some people just don't care. Gary Glitter is a convicted pedophile but his song is still played at sporting events. Disgusting.

  • His lawyers could have sued? Maybe. But their first interest must be to protect their client. We cannot under what circumstances these settlements were implemented. Maybe it was meant to prevent other allegations from emerging? Maybe it was to keep them from coming back for more? Paying money cannot be considered an admission of guilt under any circumstance: that is up to the courts to decide, not public opinion. Gary Glitter was convicted because he was found guilty by a court of law.

  • You can believe what you want to believe, obviously I cannot convince you and I wouldn't try. But in the words of Chris Rock, "I wouldn't let him watch my kids on TV!"

    Michael Jackson was a pedophile.

  • And I would not doubt the interpretation of Chris Rock; ( A very wise fellow) however, the matter was settled in the courts and with the agreement of all the parties involved. As for the so called "court of public opinion" they can seem to make up their minds whether Paris Hilton is important, or that Lyndsey Lohan is really gay, or whether Iran is in a state of revolution. In the end, the people do not matter, and that's the way it should be. I mean who wants a mob deciding everything? Not me.

  • You have made many assumptions in your comments, most of which I have overlooked. If you're going to compare the importance of Paris Hilton and Lyndsey Lohan to the discussion at hand, then there is clearly no point in continuing. If I were innocent of what MJ was accused of, I would NEVER pay millions in hush money, nor would any reasonable person. You're defending him as if you know him. What's next; OJ Simpson was innocent too? I'm finished. Believe what you want. I couldn't care less.

  • My use of Paris Hilton and Lyndsey Lohan was really a point of the public's unhealthy obsession with celebrity. It's those things that make public opinion faulty. To even convict M.J. in the public sphere by saying "Everyone thinks he did it..." does not wash as proof of anything. Case closed. As for O.J., he's innocent of one charge, (murder) but guilty of another (armed theft). The court determined this. Case closed. The courts remain the final arbiter of guilty or innocence for M.J.

  • Michael Jackson was a pedophile. Innocent people don't pay millions of dollars to silence their victims when they are millions of dollars in debt.

  • We can't know what goes through the mind of someone with a public profile like M.J.'s. And we cannot know the complete circumstances which his legal representatives were advising him. As for M.J.'s debt, or his apparent obviousness of his financial situation, that's a whole other matter. Perhaps his administrators have a lot to answer for. In any case, public opinion is not a court of law. It is not bound by codes of conduct, professionalism, or expertise. It's just babble.

  • Your opinion is also that of public opinion, which is irrelevant. You talk as if you're a lawyer, willing to make huge leaps and bounds to rationalize what is logical. Why are you so eager to defend someone who has done very immoral things, putting aside the so-called allegations? I'd say it's a reflection of you and not MJ. Go ahead and defend someone who had no conscience. I choose to use common sense, reasoning, and knowing that "where there's smoke (again, more than once), there's fire.

  • My opinion is based on an understanding of jurisprudence and the importance of the weight of evidence presented in a court of law, not by idle gossip and uninformed public opinion. To claim that "where's there's smoke..." may lead one to a fire. Or, to something that may not be so easily determined. Therefore, examination is required to determine what is really is. Unless you are blessed with clairvoyance, you cannot know. Until something is presented otherwise, M.J.'s guilt is inconclusive.

  • I don't think we're talking about the same thing. No one can say what really happened unless they were there. I've never thought otherwise. However, to make a judgment based on many many facts is reasonable and logical. So, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt... about a 1% chance that he didn't do it. If you're going to try to assert that the court systems aren't flawed, well, you are a fool. It's that simple. He's a pedophile, and I'm just as sure about that as I am that OJ is guilty, too.

  • Opinions over the guilt of M.J. and O.J. were typically drawn along racial lines. That is to say if someone was white, they believed they were guilty; if someone was black, they believed otherwise. That is one reason why public opinion cannot be trusted. And to claim that guilt based on percentages is absurd because that's not the way guilt is determined: it's determined by examination and cross-examination of the evidence. As for a flawed court system, there are checks and balances.

  • Wow, you really must be a lawyer. You are offering statistics that are not relevant to this discussion. There are plenty of black people who believe that OJ is guilty. Their issue with the OJ case was not his guilt, but that a black man could get a fair trial in this country, as was historically evident up to that point. Public opinion can be trusted at times, so that means nothing as well. Furthermore, it's arrogant for you to assert such a thing, as if you you know better than a large...

  • (Con't) part of the population. Many people believe that MJ is also guilty, regardless of race. If anything, white men are convicted at a higher rate of pedophilia than black men. Having worked in the prison systems, I know this to be true. My percentage statement was to merely indicate that no one can say with complete certainty what happened, but I am about as close as you can get. If I had a million dollars to bet that MJ was sexually inappropriate on at least one occasion, I'd gladly...

  • (Con't) make that bet. And lastly, checks and balances? Tell that to the hundreds of (usually black) men who spent years in prison, decades, only to later be exonerated due to DNA evidence. Again, if you're going to try to suggest that our court systems aren't flawed, you are naive and/or arrogant. I offered OJ as an example of this, but I am not basing my complete argument on this. It was only an example. Now please, try to impress someone else with your knowledge. It seems that you're used...

  • (Con't) to arguing people to the point of giving in. I'm not that guy, lawyer. Your own words, "technically, one can only be proven guilty in court."

  • And that is still correct. Guilt or innocence can only be proven in court. The so called court of public opinion has and will always be unreliable. Lest you want to see a return to public lynchings.

  • Checks and balances do exist and they do work. The legal system, however, moves at its own pace. Yes, there is an overweighting of convictions against blacks as opposed to whites. But more often than not, one's criminal record is considered. Prior convictions weight against many before the courts.

  • Immaterial. We cannot know the circumstances surrounded the trial or the settlement. Discussion in chambers are never revealed, and lawyer-client privilege is protects all parties. Claims otherwise are merely hot air.

  • First off, you say that the issue with blacks was not O.J.'s guilt but that he couldn't get a fair trial. That's just bizarro. His guilt was in question because of the material produced at his trial.

  • You really have no idea how much you are contradicting yourself, it's quite funny. You want to know the best way to beat a lawyer at his game of never knowing when to shut up? Shutting him up. Keep on talking, lawyer. You're not convincing anyone here but yourself. I'm convinced that MJ was a pedophile, and there are MANY good reasons to believe this. If you want to live in your world of ignorance, be my guest. Now, for the last time, you're dismissed.

  • Interesting. Unless you are gifted with the power of clairvoyance, and you are completely certain with your knowledge of the matter, I suggest you go public and enlighten the world. All I did was response by saying, for a variety of reasons, M.J.'s guilt is not conclusive. All that you have revealed is, likely, you are some raging egoist, inclined to believe whatever you like, based on whatever prejudice you harbor. In other words, you are just another uninformed member of the public.
