  • BOSS,IS THE KING,OF EFFECT PEDALS!!!

  • The VE-20 sounds good NOW...but it really doesn't. Give it a couple years and it will sound cheap and thin....Give BOSS a few more versions to tweak it and it will sound better than it does now. The harmonies are too processed....they have a slight delay that is obvious... the other effects are generic and can be obtained with any guitar pedal or effects algorithm.

A few more models, I say.

    I'll wait.

  • Great job Alexx and Scott. She sold me and I will come peacefully into the future.See you kicking and screamers later. It's a new day.

  • Perfect and Simulator voices...bye,bye, Backing vocals!! rrsrsr

  • im buying this thing today

  • Whoa - can't believe the technology bashers with negative attitudes! Fact - a vocalist HAS to be able to sing on key to even use a pitch correction device. All this does is pull up or down the almost exact 440 to it's level. I was born with perfect pitch - while I don't use pitch correction, I actually could use it on a night where I'm dead tired from singing 4 - 45 minute sets.

The harmony breakthru in recent years is nothing less than awesome - I say congrats Boss, TC Helicon, Digitech!

  • ye guys lets not plug in our guitars or use a mike or any guitar effects, lets smash up all the technical stuff lets never record or ever try to crawl out of the primeval pond. get a grip it is a great tool for pub singers

  • yep, it's cool !

  • I hate to be the party pooper guy, but I really think that using shit like this in your show spits on all the people who spent YEARS working on a natural vocal style. On our show, I use standard reverb and thats it. Offstage if someone said to me "hey-could you sing that line from that one song" I could produce the sound without a mic, just using my voice. I want people to hear what I can do, not what a machine can do.

  • Although I agree with what you say, there is also limitations to the human voice. And if you want to create something you wouldn't be able to create with your voice alone, it's a great instrument. But I also hate the fact that VE20 got pitch correction.

  • @uglemanden - I respect your opinion, and creativity. However, in my honest opinion I think music should truly be defined by those limitations of the human voice. Then ones music would truly be a symble of what they are capable of. But I am in agreement about your dislike for "pitch correction". Now we have machines that make it possible for those who can even sing in key or in tune to perform.

  • Hello Everybody! Can someone tell me how does the pedal make backing tracks..? Is there the need to preset the tone of the song or it's automatic?

Can I use it in different part of the song with different tones?

    Thank you in advance guys!

  • @givemeapick You need to set a key note but then when you perform you could have several songs' setups rowed in user-presets and you can call the presets one after the other when using the two pedals with their other function: preset browser peds. So like this you just sing and don't bother to lean and search key--just press pedal when your next song comes. Beside this, you have all your other settings as you choose them on each of your own custom presets...

  • Hey can anyone help me? My VE 20 won't save the fact that I change the harmony pedal to Pitch correction, but it just switches back when ever I change anything else such as the effect I choose. So it won't stay in the mode where pitch corrector is on the pedal. what's going on?

  • Pardon my ignorance? deduco tu non sia inglese ... cmq ci sono dei preset ma non c'è la possibilità di equalizzare il suono ...

  • Pardon my ignorance, but can you thicken your vocals with this pedal? Does it have bass/ treble/ high parameters?

  • I wanna ask a few questions

    1. I have used V300 of digitech before. However, it absolutely can't be used in live show due to its noisy feedback. will it happen in VE-20?

    2. there are 2 output in the item (left and right). how to connect them with only on microphone cable?

    3. what is the function of the twin pedal?

    Thanks!

  • i can't answer the first two but the third is mine; the left button is for effects on/off and the right is for harmonies on/off.

  • I'm pretty sure you can assign the right pedal to activate different things

  • its released 31st of march in england i think

  • she sounds just like kelly llorena

  • i think for short harmonies its fine, but as an autotune and the other effects its very useful to add fullness for certain songs, depending on your music type

  • i picked this pedal up on the weekend.. pretty cool.. but i cant say I like the harmonies.. I find that they aren't usually in the perfect tune with my voice..

  • Practice. Takes time to get used to it.

  • I agree...I think it will show you areas that you may need improvement...it just follows your voice according to the intervals you sing, so if you sing an off note, its going to find the 3rd or perfect 5th above or below what you sing. What about using the chromatic pitch correction in addition to the harmony? Thats what Im going to try when mine arrives!

  • Yes, you can use the pitch correction and the harmonies at the same time. This will help stabilize the pitch. I use it on "soft pitch" mode.

However, I still have to work very hard to sing well enough not to screw up the pitch. This machine is not a miracle worker, but it does help with pitch correction.

Also, when recording with this device with my Boss 8-track I use a compressor in front of the VE-20. The VE-20 has no built-in compressor; only a limiter/enhancer.

  • sounds good!! sweetwater just informed me that its not available again until mid April!! sucks!! seems like I can't find one anywhere!! there are some on ebay though.

  • @Rufus804 just got mine from LA music

  • Incorrect assumption. I would say that the harmonies can't track with the imperfections in your voice. I find it hard to believe that this digital device would be out of tune with ANY reference tone, unless they purposely did that to create more of a seperation between "voices".

  • sorry guy, I have one.. and I do sing in tune.. (not in my own head) I've been a musician for the past 22 years, and I know what I'm doing..

you can hear that the harmonies are out even just listening to this video.. there are spots where its just not right, but alexx is singing in tune herself..

  • The name is Krelbar...Mr. Krelbar to you...LOL

Not trying to stir anything up, I guess you just wanted to say that you feel the unit does not track harmonies correctly. Your original statement said that a digital instrument isn't in perfect tune with YOUR voice. A digital unit like this can create a PERFECT tone, if it is made correctly. I'm just guessing that this follows the same problem ANY harmonizer has...not every diatonic note sounds good at any point in a key, nor will its harmony.

  • you hit the nail on the head.. I do find the pedal to be great.. its just those harmonies.. they are just SLIGHTLY out.. I have perfect pitch.. which is a blessing and a curse.. basically what happens is, when a note is out of tune (even by the slightest amount) my ears ring.. its apparently a rare gift.. and one that I enjoy having. i think Boss has done a great thing.. but at the low cost of the pedal, they cant make a perfect harmony.. they would have to make a more expensive unit for that

  • @chriswtburke - You have to be more specific: saying the "harmonies are out" could mean different things. The machine follows chords and creates harmonies based on whatever scale (mode was chosen-I presume) - if the chosen scale is NOT proper for the chord progression some notes would of course be "out" - unless you mean to say its pitch fluctuates from the 440hz tuning?

  • i do love this pedal.. I'm just not a fan of the harmonies..

  • Alexx is a great singer and the pedal just makes her that much better.

  • Hello! This processor is awesome.. Please send part 2! Thank you!
