  • tropical music.

  • The intro sounds like Death Metal, does blast beats are mindblowing.

  • 2:38 - 2:45 - Sounds a bit like a Star Wars tune.

  • the c64 has some pretty amazing music :D

  • jeez thats a long and hard arm.................

  • Oh man, back these days I had no clue what the heck I had to do or where to go. I even couldn't imagine what the background (a forest, really?) was supposed to be. But I played it over and over again ...^^

  • old good times

  • I loved this game :D

  • Wow, that's some intense music. Absolutely amazing stuff.

  • nice game with excellent music.i played it lot,but i never could end it,its a hard a game.

  • this music so does not fit the game at all

  • @NadrianATRS Yet it's epic :D

  • yes the st version looks like the arcade but with the dodgy scrolling it makes it unplayable and with most usgold games they just ported that version strait to the amiga

  • Yes. It's not so bad. The graphics is worse than on ST and Amiga, but C64 has much more limited capabilities in this sens, so still it's great. The music is... Hmm... I'm not sure. It's good. The best thing is scrolling - it makes this game to be much more interesting than on ST and Amiga.

  • better tan boh 16bit conversion they had dodgy scrollig

  • loved this game

  • Yup, this is tied with DOOM for best computer game music EVER

  • looks fun. cool music

  • anyone else used to shoot the nest and have those bugs chase them?

  • because it scrolls it look like the game may be possible on the c64

also the music is mental It keeps almost breaking out into some techno retro chip beats.

  • pretty damn good!!

  • The music is made by tim follin, and i (honestly) think that this game(amiga cbm64, and Amstrad/Atari st version) has the best music ever in a videogame.. strong words, i know, but it's just plain brilliant all over!

  • Duuuuuuude. . . this is my first time ever hearing the BC soundtrack like this. . .but, man--I might have to agree!!!!

This is freaking outrageous!! I'm listening to the 4:01 song and I'm blown away!

This is actually better than the 360 remake remixes. . .

  • better than the 16 bit versions amazingly

  • friggin awesome dude!

  • to be honest it looks fun

  • Comment removed

  • .,opk

  • Music for this game was outstanding. Tim Follin was a very underated computer musician and did some amazing tunes on lots of different platforms.

  • Agreed, the music in this is fantastic. I think I prefer it over the arranges in Bionic Commando Rearmed.

  • I know I just commented--but I'm literally sitting here with my mouth open! OH MY GODDDD!!!! This sound track is amazing!

  • the arcade version has better quality

  • @fuzzface100

yep, i only came here to check the music.....always remember it as being some of the best on the 64.

  • Track of level 2 is and sounds brilliantly.

  • C64 Forever.

  • 2:36

    Star Wars

  • @Kistarcsa this isnt the bionic commando I was looking for. lol get it.....

  • This and Amiga version have a kickass tune to level 1. However, you don't fight Hitler, but some kind of aliens instead iirc.

  • I hear ya man, the NES game, as great as it is, the best part about it is causing Hitler's head to explod.

  • Pretty awesome music for C64 game.

Kinda funny how it was transferred nearly directly for Nes version.

  • excellent music as aways with the c64

  • Commedore 64 i had one with tapes, yes tapes damn that took long!! thank god they developed floppy's lol

  • The good, old C64. I LOVE this one!

  • had a fantastic soundchip.

  • The C64

  • Hmmm, maybe the best music in a C64-Game...!? And I know about Last Ninja, To be on Top, Gianna Sisters, etc... fascinating what the soundchip does here... *listen*

  • Look for the mame version.

  • wow! i still remember this music.

  • Stage 4 track rocks.

  • wicked game, music is off its nut!!

  • Did you know that the NES version was called Hitler no Fukkatsu: Top Secret(Hitler`s Revival: Top Secret). In this version, your mission was to stop a group of neo-nazist that plot to revive Adolf Hitler. The American version was altered, but the badguy's picture at the end of the game still resembles Hitler.

  • correction... the NES version was called Bionic Commando. The FAMICOM version however had the name u are suggesting.

  • correction... the nes version and the home computer version are different games. The nes game is the sequell to the arcade,c64,cpc,zx spectrum, atari 400/800 versions.

  • yea, this is one of my favorite games.

    i feel young again ;-)

  • I love the Star Wars -part in the 2nd level.

  • Really nicely played m8. But i saw you dying twice hehe.

Damn i keep loving that mission 2 music =), that . Only reason i watched this video tbh ^^.

    Yet again, NICE !

  • What?? The music in this version was hype as hell. The graphics need a bit work though..

  • This seems like an ok game. However, the NES version was much greater. The NES version had great music that matchedits settings(military), and it had a great story. However Hitler's Revival had a better story than the US version... It was and always will be, my favorite NES game ever.Honestly, this one has odd music, and it seems kind of corny. But I cant bash it till I played it.lol

  • For those of u who think that the nes version is better.. Your wrong! this version has better music and is actually an arcade conversion! So there stick that in your pipe and smoke it... only kidding, i respect your love of the nes version, but this one holds special memories for me thanx to the great tim folin!

  • there's hardly any sound effects. :(

  • This is the European version

  • This is the arcade version. Inferior to the NES version.

  • Actually this is the European C64 version, not the arcade version - but yeah the NES version is still better.

  • Ohh, wait, you guys are talking about the bit after 2:38, right? Where the musician decided to throw in some of his own stylez for a few seconds before looping the song? I think I can hear what you're talking about. Although it's still a mere couple of notes.

  • That's Tim Follin for ya! He always swung away from the same old!

  • It is called "citation" and pretty common in literature, movies etc. - definitely just in there for laughs, while the general music of the 2nd level is quite dull. While the 1st level tune is still one of the catchiest in all C64 history, the 3rd level music is fantastic, too. The bit starting at 4:00 and going kinda "progressive rock" at 4:29... can definitely see myself having a threesome to that music.

  • so weird how they made the second level's music. it starts off like what you'd hear on the 1st level on the nes and then go off in this almost star wars music. how they got around this is beyond me.

  • Could someone please explain this to me? The second level song in this game is the same song as the first level on the NES game - and the song that's being used in the new game's trailers. And I can't hear an ounce of Star Wars anywhere in that tune.

  • 2:38 - 2:44 is a clip from a star wars song.

  • i love tim follin

  • sounds like sega genesis music

  • Level 2 sounded like star wars. How did they manage to get away with that?

At least there's none of the NES "Badds" silliness. Nintendo and their bloody censorship...

  • Uh... no it didn't. What Star Wars song? Sounds like Bionic Commando, to me.

  • Not the opening track, obviously.

  • Oh, wait, you mean that the first TWO notes are similar in proportion to each other, except the second one is too long? Wow, how'd they ever get away with those two notes?!

  • STFU

  • Kinda weird hearing Tim Follin do BC's music as apposed to Harumi Fujita.

  • Tim Follin, a musical C64 genius!!! I think i creamed my pants first time i heard the music!! LOL.

  • graphics may be atari-ish but the music is very good especially level 4

  • What System Is That For

  • What a tune!!!

  • Good old Software Creations! If they were involved in something you can bet the Follin Brothers were involved!

  • The Music on Level 3 is awesome in Commodore 64

  • agreed

  • awesome music in this game. the NES version has the same soundtrack

  • Actually, the NES Bionic Commando has one recycled tune. I don't remember hearing the rest of the tunes from the original arcade game, and the C64 conversion which we are discussing about. I also think the C64 conversion's tunes are elite, yet I like the arcade version's better.

  • This is one of my areas of specialty, so I will set the record straight. The NES version of Bionic Commando uses two tunes from the arcade game (which the C64 version is a conversion of), stage 2 and 4. They are both shortened (for the better) in the NES version.

  • Do you like the soundtrack more in the C64 version compared to the Arcade?

P.S. Which version of the game is your favourite in general?

  • The C64 soundtrack is good, except for the second level, which has the most famous tune from the game (also the most famous in the NES version). It's way too slow and wimpy in the C64, when it's supposed to be a fast military march with lots of side drum flams.

  • The best version of the game by far is the Japanese Famicom version, "Top Secret: Hitler no Fukkatsu"

It not only has more obstacles/enemies than the U.S. version, but also has a great story involving psychotic neo-nazis attempting to revive Hitler, with swastikas everywhere (all changed to eagles in the USA version), and it's your mission to destroy them.

The arcade original, "Top Secret" (BC in the USA etc) was an OK game but is pretty sloppy and rushed feeling, unsual for Capcom.

  • The rest of the (superb) NES BC's soundtrack was composed by none other than Junko Tamiya, the ultimate babe game composer. Her other well known scores include her masterpiece, the arcade (and Genesis) Strider soundtrack, and various other Capcom games over the years. She is a genius.

  • It's good to see note-worthy chip/game composers get their due/over-due credit!

(The most unappreciated/unconsidered of all musicians)

Little do they know that we out there appreciate their efforts, art and overall fine/hard work!

  • No kidding... Junko made is even worse by using new aliases for almost every game. For example on her great Little Nemo (NES) soundtrack, she is credited as "Swimmer Tamichan", on other games she is "Gon" or "Gondamin", occasionally "J. Tamiya"

  • I'm guessing the NES version is your favourite. I bought that version as a gift for my younger Brother a while ago now. He plays it on my NES and LOVES it! (Still have it's instruction manual too!)

  • Great video why cant people be more like Reinhard this is how real gameplay is done with no cheats.

  • I use savestates to making the longplays.

  • Commodore games had legendary music....awesome..

  • I love this game, (wahrscheinlich wegen der geilen Musik von Tim Follin), aber so gut wie du das durchspielst, <RESPEKT!> bräuchte ich wahrscheinlich JAHRE ;)!

  • Whoa, didn't know there was a C64 vesion! Also didn't know that the Commodore was even capable of running a game like this. I remember playing this one on the NES way back when. Those were some fun times. Thanks for posting.

  • wow, great music!

  • How you could do that with a keyboard, I have no clue.

  • yes this is definitely the euro version. the us version looks different and doesn't have the great tim follin soundtrack.

  • This version was based on the original Arcade release. The NES version that we have in the US is dfferent, but has two themes from this version.

  • I think it's the official europeanversion.

  • Yup! It's the European version based on the arcade version.
