There is no better mic. U use what sounds the best for your voice. Any professional recording engineer would tell you that. The Shure SM7B is a very common broadcast mic and a good place to start.
You're saying people shouldn't use condensor mics but studio quality condensor mics are much better than this crapy condenser mic you got. If you are looking for a condensor mic for not to much mony, buy a shure sm58.
Jim - I see the need for the 2 channels, one for your mic and one for your music. What if you accept incoming calls on your show? For example Skype calls. Will you need a 3rd channel for this audio? If so, how do you split that audio from the calls from the audio that would be your music since both sounds come from the same set of speakers?
Very good question and I thank you. I do not use Skype, but I am familiar with that application. I could be very wrong here, but I see NO NEED in using a "seperate mixer channel" just for that. Also, it may be noted that my "external speakers" are NEVER on when I am broadcasting. This would cause feedback into my dynamic mic. I am pretty sure that your "sound channel" (on your mixer) is all that you need for any computer program generated sounds :)
PLEASE FOLKS allow me to apologize for the "popping and crackles" that I had in this video. I had my sound mixer turned up a wee bit too high. ALSO, please note that "Behringer" is NOT the only name brand in good sound mixers. M-Audio makes them, Radio Shack carries them and on and on. A person ONLY needs a 2 channel mixer for internet broadcasting. The only REAL problem is wiring them into your computer. Sound ports on computers vary so therefore you will have to adapt :)
Why Annie, there you are gal. YES, my dear lady, I HIGHLY recommend the Olympus Stylus 8000 Tough Camera. I paid $400.00 for mine, but by now, maybe they have came down in price. AND YOU KNOW what I DO with my camera so therefore that is proof enough. Thanks for the review.
Well James I certainly hope you gleaned a wee bit of information from this video about Internet Broadcasting Equipment. Sorry about all the "pops and crackles" coming through my microphone. I thought I had my mixer set better than that...!! (lol)
Well Willy, the simple fact of the matter is, that a person ONLY needs a two channel mixer for internet broadcasting. I guess I should have made that a little clearer. Behringer has a couple of units out (mixers) that run in the $40.00 to $60.00 range. These are THE ONES I would consider :):)
cool!

Thanks Johnn. I had some "snap, crackle and pop" in my voice overs, but I guess we can live with all that. I appreciate the rating. I really do :)

This is a good and informative video tutorial Jim,thank you.
The only fault I have with the logitech quickcam pro 9000 is the sound is too darn sensitive,I can never get it adjusted right.
As far as the sound mixer goes, how on earth would someone decide between 53 sound mixers? lol
I`ll see you on blog my friend.
