  • rokcet is 48 inches cheack your codex dont give new players wrong info.

  • @3baby360 go on waylandgames.co.uk, there's a space marine battleforce for £48 or Assault On Black Reach starter set with orks and space marines for £49 :D thts if u live in Europe

  • also why can i get some space marines if i want to start a small army and grow from there are there any starter kits i so how much would they be

  • i love your series im starting to get into this game and your tutorials battle reports help alot

  • these guys are kool

p.s BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD

    MAGICK FOR TZEECH

    ICKY STUFF FOR NURGLE

    STARS FOR THE CTAN

  • This looks stupid and looks really boring.

  • @RBKluuzGH

That's why most players fantasize about ruling a real army:)

  • do you just use impasto gel to make it look like water unde your bridges??

  • If you are within 12 inches you get to fire twice with a rapid fire wep

  • hey i dont understand how rapid fire works...u didnt show an example...what do u mean u shoot twice? do u reroll ur misses? or do u roll again to shoot?

  • @thatdudeoverthere456 Since the marines get one shot, rapid fire gives them two shots instead.

  • This looks fun. How do i get started and how much is it,

  • @Cwafter it does and im in the same boat with you, btw its expensive, expect at least $500

  • @Cwafter don't listen to Eradzer0. there's no way you'll end up spending 500 bucks just to get started. I highly recommend an assault on black reach starter kit even if you don't plan on starting with orks or space marines. that's about 120 starter kit. then go buy some highly viscous hobby glue from another store. mine is almost like water that you brush onto your models and it glues very well. don't get globby glue if that makes sense. 8-10 bucks there. then some brushes and paint

  • @Cwafter you don't need to get citadel paints but i recommend at least getting the citadel washes. a set of paints and three brushes from anywhere else (you must get acrylic paints. don't skimp out for the low-quality stuff) that'll run you maybe 25-30 bucks. so with two armies, rules books, all the equipment you need to get started might cost you in the neighbourhood of 150. it's a great investment and a respected hobby. it does get expensive when you really get into it

  • @Cwafter so 500 won't be far off if you want to get serious but that's up to you and you can still have lots of fun and spend LOTS of time putting together and painting your starter armies before deciding to continue. hope this helped.

  • im pretty shore if u get lower then your armour save they die not higher

  • Forget my post, i get it now. The AP5 Bolter denies a 5+ armor save.

  • Where are the rules mentioned that the gaunts dont get their armor save against a (S4) Bolter?

    5th Edition Rulebook say:

    4) For each shot that hits, compare weapon streingth (4) vs. enemy toughness (3) = 3+ to wound.

    5) For each wound !!! suffered make a saving throw.

If that "instant kill" rule is true, the armor save of nearly all Eldar, Dark Eldar, Imperilal Guard and many Tyranids & Tau where completely useless against a "basic" weapon like a Bolter. That makes no sense to me.

  • @ LTchicken the bolt pistol is 12" range

  • How do you find the seperate stats for differant units?

  • @crippledkangaroo15k Buy the armies codex

  • whats the range of the bolt pistol? the leader never fired it on the first turn

  • oooh nice. I only ever dealt with fluff all these years so this is perfect background entertainment while I prepare my next episode.

  • thumbs up for space marines getting black reach on christmas

  • its all about the space marines they make orks look like sissys

  • thank you very much for making these videos on how to play VERY HELPFUL friends have been trying to teach all the rules to me but i would be like "lol wut...o_o"

  • i love warhammer 40k and i get orks and black reach is comeing to me in the 25 of December orks orks orks orks!!!!

  • @EthanHuntRh Space marines - For the Imperium!

  • Amazing videos, thank you so much! It really helps me understand all the ins and outs of Warhammer. :D

  • I thought space marine squads are 5 men per squad

  • i thought the missle launcher can fire up to 48''

  • when deciding which models to take out, who decides? the person who owns them or the person who's turn it is?

  • @Ninjadude2012 it really depends most of the time the owner will choose his starting force usually having a point limit

  • @Funkyburg3r do you mean when the models suffer wounds and die, or are you misconstruing what i said?

  • you really helped me remember how to play again.

  • mat, have you named your hive fleet?

  • i haven't played since 2006 i forget like 80% of the rules haha

  • @hunkyjelly lol I stopped playing for a year and I forgot most rules lol

  • @hunkyjelly sames

  • whos getting w40k dark millenium online?

  • I haven't played in a while and I'm starting again. This really helped, thanks!

  • why does he say part 2?!

  • @SilentStabber1010 because "introduction to Warhammer 40k was #1

  • dang, you need alot of dice for this game.

  • @swan6307 you do need alot of dice, however, you can buy a dice cube from any wargaming store and it is a plastic cube which contains 25 normal dice, 1 scatter dice and one dice which is only needed for warhammer:fantasy. They come in different colours so buy one with colours which match your army's colour scheme! :D

  • gr8 quality, loved it =)

  • Holy shit, the dude at the end was intense!

  • Please help!!! If you want to run can you move 12 inches atumactically

  • @bigblazer53

No, the run move is rolling one dice. The number it shows is the allowed run move in inches. This random thing sucks, and will probably be changed in next edition of the ruleset.

  • so which one has the biggest range of choice (factions, troops e.t.c)?

  • hey guys i have to thinga to say,

    1. love ur vids, u guys are epic

2.I'm new to the whole wargaming thing and i don't know what to start - fantasy or 40k - i have two old sets of 40k space marines from when i was younger but i don't know which is best. Can you give me some advice please? Thanks

  • @TheMineCraftingGinge Well technically, it depends on if you like sci-fi or fantasy the best. Now if you can't decide which one you prefer, you could go into 40k and pick space orks, who all typically have axes and swords. If you strictly like fantasy, you could go with fantasy, and if you strcitly like sci-fi then you could go into 40k.

  • @abc114able thanks

  • make more vids!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • finaly a good video about how to play it :P thanks!

  • BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!

    SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!!

  • @CowHoofOnAHotPlate PENIS IN YOUR ANUS !!!

  • @CowHoofOnAHotPlate i wish my slaanesh had cool sayings like that... ;(

  • @CowHoofOnAHotPlate ha ha nice

  • @CowHoofOnAHotPlate

    Ketchup for my Khorne Dogs?

  • @CowHoofOnAHotPlate GW totally missed a sales idea.... I would buy KHORNE FLAKES!!!!! :D hahaha

  • i already know for the most part how to play the lord of the rings version can you teach us the normal warhammer version that looks interesting as well!

  • This game is actually easier to play and alot more interesting than i thought, you just convinced me to buy myself an army. Im excited now. :) thanks for the video.

  • This was helpfull

  • Cheers, getting starter with a mate today. Offically got me into it.

  • he looks like simon from the inbetweeners a bit :)

  • So who picks which guys get removed? The attacker or defender.

  • @manchusabre

    the defender

  • @T22Lee Thanks.

  • 6:32 "So they can shoot, even after they fire?"

  • lol they also have a flamer. didn't know they let flamers join the space marines ;P

  • how can you take the dead from wherever you want? that makes no sense. you should take the dead from the ones who were hit with the rocket.

  • @eddieharr whats the point the dead is all the same is doesnt matter if you take from the back as long as their in the same squad or group!

  • @doggydude227 it does matter. If you shoot a guy in the front and take him from the back then the guy in the front still has range to shoot, when the guy in the back may not have. Also, you should be able to choose who you want to shoot, like which model, the one with this gun or that. Adds more strategy, and makes way more sense.

  • @eddieharr He skipped a rule for simplicity's sake called wound allocation

  • @anonymous247n not really I just leave the book open on the table beside me, it's simpler if you play it a few times with someone who knows the rules :)

  • So many rules so many rules :(

So let me get this straight - if you want to play this you have to know, for every unit, statistics like ballistic skill, armor, weapon abilities? Sounds like you first have to study one big fat rulebook.

  • @Anonymous247n You can buy a book for your race you choose called a codex which tells u

  • The rocket launcher is at 48" range....

  • Good little tutorial. Simple and to the point.

  • When he said inthe beginning with the rocket launcher, what does hemean its stronger then the armor?

  • @Burningreaper9000 Basically, the rockets have a higher armor penetration (AP) value that the gaunts save, meaning the gaunts get insta-killed

  • uuuhm.... the termagants can only shoot 12", and when you walk, the range of the weapon will be the half of the original range so then will only be able to shoot 6".....

    that's what I learned....

  • @spykay thats now incorrect completely nad hasnt been in years, now weapons can fire on the move (if lcassed as assualt) or only when standing (if squad has not moved) tanks and stuff get different rules

  • theres 9 in that tactical squad

  • @Tiger6121999 No. There are 10.

  • Watch out that GW doesn't BoW you!

  • this is very helpful...i suck at the rules and you made it way easier

  • Aside from the few rules that he ignored, like not having synapse, rocket launchers having a 48 inch range, and bad wound allocation, not bad.

  • hang on wouldn't the gaunts get a 6+ Armour save

  • @TheWarmaster666 In 40k shooting weapons have AP "Armor Penetration" Bolters being AP5 cancel a 5+ or 6+ save.

  • Okay people chill, just like when you buy a game, you aren't really paying for the plastic disc and packaging, you are paying for the content on the disc, the same is with warhammer, you aren't only paying for little plastic men, you're paying for the game and concept behind them.

  • @miniwargaming Doe somebody of you plays Space Marines

  • Wat advantages do tzeecht have I know some add initiative or toughness and stuff wat do they have

  • @usernameunavaliable thanks for the advice im definatly getting a demon prince probably a battle force but how good are posesed

  • when playing 40k, one needs:

    10 space marines

    2 dozen termigaunts

    some dice

    6 pink foam phalluses

  • Pls do space marine tactics please whose with me

  • @iGab90 I know it's expensive, I'd estimate I've spent more than a 1000€ and I'm totally cool with it. But comparing the game to a computer game is just messed up. Since you have played the tabletop game, you (should) know it's far from dawn of war.

  • @miniwargaming Dave you inspired me to start a chaos marine army how should I start

  • @imperialork get a battleforce, and a Daemon Prince then ur good to go :) Khorne army = easy to play, Nurgle = boring, Rest funny, harder and cooler :) i play a Khorne army myself, but its getting boring :) go make a Tzeenech army :)

  • @usernaameunavailable wat advantages do tzeenech have i know some of the others give u higher initiative and stuff

  • so TWO space marines die (muhaha!)

  • i love how people complain about the "price hikes". I did that math and GW has raised the price of a land raider $12 over the past TEN years!!! thats about a $1.30 each year. If you guys cant afford an extra $1.30 then maybe you shouldnt be playing table top games in the first place. "just sayin"

  • He keeps getting twos... Does someone have loaded dice?

  • Finally! it took me along time to figer this out. because no one would really show me how and the mannel was sometimes really hard to understand.

  • Due to the new price increases, I won't be playing 40k any more. Not that I don't want to, but I can't afford it. I am not old enough to get a job, so I would only be able to get around 10 models every month or two, so it just wouldn't be worth it. I just can't understand why on earth they chose to charge so much for plastic soldiers. It's absurd, and I now officially hate GW.

  • @jackh337 Try looking up other producers, and making a "counts as" IG or tyrnaid army (for example).

You won't be able to go to any tournaments with it (mostly) but friendly games work out well. Try Urban mammoth or warmachine for models (though both are still "quite" expensive), or just go on ebay. Lots of cheap minis to be bought there as long as you have the time/patience to do some paint-removal.

  • This will come in handy to introducing new players, thanks!

  • Termagaunts can shoot after they FIRE i didn't know

  • @Haloister if your not being sarcastic i think he meant moving

  • @babypooon it was just a joke i was being sarcastic

  • @Haloister cool you would be surprised at the amount of idiots on the internet :D

  • Admittingly I'm not a warhammer/40k guy but this helped to understand it. I'm curious...

The Player who's army was wounded chooses which guys to pull off the table INSTEAD of the guy doing the attacking? If that's right I don't understand that.

  • @jimeronimo if you like to have some cheap models just buy a paint set like assault on black reach paint set if you like to try it out

  • @jimeronimo It's that way to represent the squad protecting the heavy weapon or special weapons, and we generally take from the back so it represents the guys at the front going down to fire and the guys at the back moving up to take the place

  • @jimeronimo It represents the way a squad member would pick up a fallen comrade's special weapon, or the way a valiant sergeant would jump on a grenade to save his commanding officer's life.

  • This was a damn good video. Well done!

  • stick to more warmahordes.

  • I love when people complain about the cost of "plastic" then they go out and buy a brand new video game for 80 bucks... isn't that made out of plastic???

  • @inflictionary

But the price of a video game has nothing to do with it being made out of plastic.

  • @shinmusashi44 neither does warhammer being made out of plastic, you pay for game developers for the video games and warhammer, you pay for artists to create cover art for both. rules being made, distribution for both. People's employment ie. games workshop store employees. It's bassically the same context. People say why spend the money on plastic but you're paying for the game not the actual physical thing.

  • @inflictionary Are you kidding?

  • @saintmichaelsarmoury Ignorant much?

  • @inflictionary Well I'm a 3D character designer so I know that the price you pay when you buy a video game goes to more than just the plastic in the disc and the packaging. So no, I think I have a pretty good idea what I'm talking about.

  • @saintmichaelsarmoury Yeah i know i'm not disputing that I'm actually saying that there is more to it then that just like there is more to warhammer then just buying the plastic models designers and employees have to get paid which is where the majority of money goes to for both so although the physical cost of the plastic is small for both the price of the finished product comes from the development of it.

  • @inflictionary Ah then I misunderstood. Cheers.

  • @saintmichaelsarmoury sry for the heat my first internet argument. But yeah cheers.

  • @inflictionary Mmmhm, they are. However, go melt down a 1500 point army and see how many video game discs you can make me.

  • @inflictionary Completely different. Some artists can create the blueprint of a figure in a week or two, probably. After that they can mass produce them by use of cheap plastic.

A game requires a development time of several years and involves dozens of people from different professions. And most games generate running costs (to run multiplayer servers, game support hotline, patching).

I'd also dare to say that a DVD costs more than a clump of plastic, because of more expensive production.

  • @inflictionary Don't be hating on other peoples hobbies. And as a Warhammer 40k player I do think that they are ridiculously overpriced.

  • @inflictionary You get me a full sized 40k army for just 80 bucks and I won't complain.

  • @inflictionary what game are u buying for 80 dollars?

  • @kingdomaster

In some parts of Europe and most of Australia, that's the average price.

  • @kingdomaster Any new Ps3 or Xbox 360 game being sold in Canada. The regional disparity of prices between us and the united states is ridiculous; you're looking at about 59.99 to 69.99, plus tax... which just about crests the $80 mark, whereas the US gets new games at closer to 49.99. Just compare the GW prices in Canada to the ones in the US, then compare the actual conversion rates. Something doesn't add up.

  • @kingdomaster WoW Cataclysm most likely :P

  • @Gothicboots cataclysm for 80 bucks? are you mad?

  • @lokofaith when it first came out yea

  • @kingdomaster In New Zealand, CoD Black Ops costs 90USD

  • @kingdomaster A special edition game with a plastic figurine ironically

  • @kingdomaster Well Kane & Lynch 2 was $60 and lasted FOUR FUCKING HOURS so even it's not $80 I'd say some Mandrakes would be a better buy.

  • @kingdomaster Killzone 3 special edition!

  • @inflictionary well actually youre not buying the cd itself but the work of many designers, engineers and developers. You can also get a digital copy :D

  • @inflictionary This just might be one of the dumbest things I've ever read on YouTube. And that's saying something.

  • @psychoticmortacarn You're a fucking idiot.

  • More fantasy reports! You promised. =(

  • i love the intro for 40k BUT!!!! the missile launcher for marines has a 48 inch range

  • you forgot to shoot bolt pistol

  • @1234LegoGuy1234

it was included with the bolt guns thats why there was 7 shots and not 6

  • @rich9517 no youre wrong there where 7 boltguns 1 flamer 1 rocket launcher and 1 boltpistol

  • @1234LegoGuy1234

yep your right must have jammed lol

  • I would like to see some necron gameplay

  • If you're taking suggestions ..... you should devote one video to grenades , the tyopes, , and how they work. It was one of the hardest concepts my friends and I had to figure out in the begining.

  • Looks easy enough to learn, but I think I'll stick to Dawn of War.

Anyone else think it would be cool if Relic made a sequel to Squad Command? (More races and abilities are my major requests)

  • @ajones6302 for a start, Imperial just got a codex out last year, so doubt they are getting a new one any time soon.
