The quick answer is, yes, I can draw Brian's Lancer. The longer answer is, I did this car as a test to see if I could do it successfully with this technique, but drawing cars isn't all that interesting to me so I'm not planning on doing any more... unless someone wanted to commission me that is....
If you mean how long did this particular drawing (not a sketch) take, it took me 11 hours during a 24 hour period from when I stopped until it was finished. If you mean how long have I been drawing in general, I'd have to say all my life.
No reason to fear the pen. What you should fear is the eraser - it gives you false confidence. Real confidence comes with knowing that you can incorporate mistakes into your work and end up with something that is great. One of my art teaches in high school used to talk of "happy mistakes"... that is, it is a mistake because you hadn't intended it, but happy because it makes your work better that it would have been had it not been there.
