I like this production but I think the BBC would find it very difficult to do a bed/love scene now between a 14 year old girl and a 26 year old man. The censors would go ballistic.
i know they are married, and back then it was common for the girl to be much younger. but this is a little creepy looking. romantic, but unsettling none less.
it is indeed sweet and you can tell in their eyes they are inlove! good actor and actress indeed. patrick ryecart is 26 and rebecca saire is 14 still they fitted well for the role. another classic to be treasured...ty for sharing it!!! ☺
Actually, it didn't matter back in the times this play is supposed to be in. Girls were marrying and having children at the age of fourteen then, so actually it's not rape ^-^
