@bowleramaa Give him a break the goal was not to hit the 5 pin. He had to hit the 5 pin very lightly on the side to let it slide in. However, sometimes a bowler will be a tiny bit off their target, causing them to miss the pin they wanted to use effectively. Look at the pro on the last shot (Big 5)! She knew that the shot required a light hit on the 3, causing a chain reaction. Her mistake there was no different, which is not unusual in bowling. She went a little too far to the right.

It all depends on what kind of style you bowl though. I know a kid who throws 13 pounds , 11 years old, but he has a very high back swing. But I'm 15 and throw 16 pounds but I'm a low rev player.

also there is nothing illegal with a 2 handed release. in fact lots of asian bowlers bowl like that. theyre called spinners.

however i do have some concerns, it is not healthy for a 7 year old to bowl with a 15 lb ball. they uzsually recomend same pond as age so he should be using 7 pounds
