My mother died when she gave birth to me. My father married a woman who had mental illness and severly abused me and my siblings! I know we have free will to make choices. I am 52 years old and have been in and out of counseling most of my life because i never learned how to love myself and have been self destructive. Most times I wish I would have died enstead of my mother. I have loved the lord since I was a little girl. How do I forgive someonewho never says sorry and denies what they did?
@TheJoycie16 Hi Joycie - First of all, we are so sorry for your situation. We will be praying for you. Dr. Stanley has a whole series on Anger that I would encourage you to look into (as well as a book: Surviving in an Angry World). I will message you a link to a video where Dr. Stanley discusses Anger & Forgiveness. God bless you!
@TheJoycie16 You exoress that to them, most of the time their not even worth that. Its always better to walk away than to get crazy (loco) its just not worth it.
MOMENT BY MOMENT Moment by moment we must listen to our sprit As God speaks through our soul within. When we fail to comply and go our own way We’re disobedient and suffer the punishment of sin. The Devil whispers in each and every ear And his favorite tool of corruption is fear. But when we totally summit to our faith in God We turn away from temptation and our destiny is clear. If you still want God to "deal" with the husband, how is that forgiving? And, how can someone forgive anyone who is unrepentent, when God does not also do the same? Think of all the German families who lost everything in the Homeland Security camps. Should they offer their forgiveness to Hitler or the other Satanic monsters in his government? And if one of these monsters should show up at their doorstep, are you saying they should be invited inside even if they have never repented?
@RobertMOdell I can personally tell you that if you forgive someone of something, it does relieve your anger. The hurt remains, but will be blunted over time. That doesn't mean that you allow that person in your life, But you should forgive them. If you do, then you are able to leave that person, and what they do, in GOD's hands. Then watch him work in your life, to help you overcome everything concerning that situation. it doesn't happen overnight though.
@AmethystMist I can see there is a difference between forgiving and reconciling. In this case, the offender is a group of people, and the situation will continue on indefinitely, and not be overcome.
@RobertMOdell Yes, there is a difference between the two, and it is hard to forgive, and reconciliation is even harder. in the case you stated, there isn't a single person to forgive, and reconciliation isn't possible with a group of ppl. However, forgiveness is. Once you forgive them, you ask GOD to help you to move forward with your life, and HE will.
