The true theme of the movie is honoring one of the greatest love stories in history and advertising that hindu's and muslims can get along. This movie is amazing like many other bollywood movies, but they are all made for pure entertainment and don't really have much depth to them like symbolism and metaphors.

When Aishwayra answers "Yes!" to a servants question after the wedding night, the ding - turning point to see the marriage through. I thought it might have to do with the comment that Maham Anga made about a mirror having a dark side and what the reflecting light might be revealing. However, symbolism - Timing is everything!
