Yeah I can see how the civic is as quick through the corners, by using almost all of the road going into nearly all of them and out of quite a number of them, where as the R8 is staying pedantically on its side of the road except for one kink at the end of the video. So using twice the amount of road the civic can stay with the R8. Also recovering from any kind of mishap is much harder in a mid engined car (whether it's awd or rwd) than it is in a fwd like the civic.

Now imaghine what you could do with an extra $60K... Hmm, maybe a weight reduction, a new Twin turbo Engine, Brand new gearbox and drive terrain, better suspension, weight reduction... etc. And the list just goes on, and I'm pretty sure after That extra $60k is gone, the honda can demolish the R8. Ya I am american and i know the pound is worth more than the dollar and when I saw $38,000 Civic i nearly passed out then I realized that wasn't even in in U.S. dollars. That is a whopping $59,326 in American! I can go get a Porsche for that much. Hell, maybe even a used R8.

I dont think the r26 is cheaper. it says 30k for civic type R in this video but its more like 20k. hondas are the best engines ever built, and the civic in my opinion is a better car and looks better. i have had two civics, both black ep3, one was a sport, then i got a type R turbo running over 370bhp.. and it was an amazing car. i think the ep3 is better than the newer civic, and is probably one of the best hatch's ever made. the new civic is not as good but still better than r26
