  • Nice game, and its open source :)

  • @IRUSIpanzermaster

    That's right. :)

  • very good

  • @fXxuxXnXx

Maybe because it's quite a good game. Its engine allows you to modify environment in real time, it supports advanced graphic effects like bump mapping, real time lighting, shadows etc. Btw. this clip is just to show how Gallium3D has matured.

  • That...PCI does not equal PCIe....

  • Nice Graphics, but Ive got a Problem with this

I Installed th Galium 3D Driver for my Radeon 9600, also with 256MB RAM. The Problem is that the Mouse doesn't work when I Start the Game. So I Cant Choose Multiplayer or Bot Match :(

  • @illegalalien2

Thanks for you comment. It seems it's a common problem on some system configurations when there are compositions enabled. You could try disabling visual effects before playing. You could also try playing in the window - try: sauerbraten -w800 -h600 -t in a console.

  • @Pawlerson Deactivating Visual Effects doesnt work, but Windowed the Mouse is Working. The Graphics is working, but it can Only Run Smooth when I Deactivate the Shader. Because With Shader it works only slowly :(

  • @illegalalien2

Good to see it works in the window at least. Yes, when shaders are enabled performance isn't very good. However, afaik Gallium3D didn't receive too much optimizations yet, because developers want to provide features first and after this they should focus on optimizing the driver. I'm following the latest git versions of the graphic stack, so if I'll notice there's some boost in performance I'll let you know. :)

  • @Pawlerson Well, YOU have got Shaders activated, and your Graphics have also 256MB RAM, so it shouldnt be soo slowy :(

  • @illegalalien2

It depends what does slow mean. :) For me Sauerbraten ran too slow, I'd like to have about 60fps. You could check if your drivers are installed correctly: glxinfo |grep OpenGL (it's case sensitive) and tell me what this command shows. Btw. what kernel are you running? uname -a

  • @Pawlerson Here itis "glxinfo |grep OpenGL OpenGL vendor string: X.Org R300 Project OpenGL renderer string: Gallium 0.4 on RV350 OpenGL version string: 2.1 Mesa 7.10-devel OpenGL shading language version string: 1.20 OpenGL extensions: christian@christian-K7S41GX:~$ " My kernel "2.6.35-22-generic #33-Ubuntu SMP Sun Sep 19 20:34:50 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux"... With Slow I Mean that it issnt smooth ;)
  • @illegalalien2

You're running the same stack what I am, so it should be smooth. Maybe graphic card makes such a difference and while Gallium matures the difference should become smaller. However, I'm not sure if that's the case. ;)

  • @illegalalien2

One more question, you have PCI or AGP?

  • @Pawlerson Of course AGP ;)

  • @illegalalien2 AGP sucks, get a decent PCI Express card.

  • @willrandship I Don't have a Free PCI Card anymore, I had to built in an USB PCI Hub... But Im going to buy a new PC, so it doesnt matter now :)

  • haha Paweł, co to ma być?:>

  • @bgsclan

Mała prezentacja możliwości otwartych sterowników graficznych. :)
