  • To right the unrightable wrong And to love pure and chaste from afar To try when your arms are too weary To reach the unreachable star This is my quest To follow that star No matter how hopeless No matter how far To fight for the right Without question or pause To be willing to march, march into hell For that heavenly cause

  • Absolutely fantastic. This is a true declaration, ...we all have dreams, some are unreachable. There is always "one", ..."the dream", ...that keeps us going, no matter how impossible and unfeasible. That is hope, and one cannot live without it.

    I'll keep on dreaming...

  • She's in a place where thorns with blazing flame that's so secured filled with poisonous gas and so unreachable for me to take her hand, but my heart rebels keen of going through the forest of that blazing fiery poisonous thorns with an uncertainty of what may come.

  • Receive your impossible wish, it may not happen the same day, negative thoughts can hinder your impossible dream.................

  • he loved cock

  • @MrCharlieBananas So do you!

  • Perhaps one of the greatest songs anyone has ever sang. I believe the key to its meaning lies in the very last verse:

"And the world will be better for this

That one man, scorned and covered with scars

Still strove with his last ounce of courage

    To reach the unreachable star."

And what was Jesus's unreachable star which He was willing to walk into hell to reach? It is summed up in the following prophecy from the old Testament:: Isaiah 11:6-9

  • Goodbye Luther great voice really miss .

  • Composed in 1965 for the play Man of La Mancha. Don Quixote (key-ho-teh) That tells alot about the origin, if you know the story

  • @everyone. I will learn from the past to enjoy life.

  • I have this CD and enjoy all of the songs. My impossible dream is to overcome resentments from people who have and still betraying me. I will learn not to dwell on gossip about me from frenemies.

  • @airforcemax Betrayal requires trust. They cant betray you if you dont trust em.

  • @TommyNavid - The betrayal was from two people I trusted and I am glad I will never see these toxic men and "what goes around will go around." I will dream the impossible dream and find a better employer and supervisor who do not have venomous personalities.

  • @SylarXII Yep, that makes sense, thanks!:)

  • @MrPinoyrock

It is about all those things, but it is originaly from a musical called The Man of La Mancha, which is about Don Quiote.

  • @MrPinoyrock Your answer to Avalita07 was more true to the meaning of this song. However a good song will always mean different things to different ppl.

  • Just heard this sung on the telly and it's brought me to tears.

  • this song so touches me it makes me cry everytime!!!!!

  • Absolutely love this by any artist,my mothers fav record, god bless her,got it by Hesitations on American president label ktf

  • i like the singer, i like this song, because Luther is one of the best singer, and this song is a beautifull, brilliant,,,

  • its translated form the French written by my hero Jacques Brel from his musical about Don Quixote- "the man from la mancha". Great version- Luther is my other hero!!!

  • To me this song is also about people who dedicate their lives to fighting for the rights of others. People like those who participated in the Civil Rights Movement who had dogs and fire hoses turned on them, but didn't give up. They truly marched into hell for a heavenly cause.

  • Nothing is impossible if you challenge it.

  • Miss this guy sooo much why do the good die and the evil ones live on and on and on .... R.I.P luther xx

  • GREATEST SING THT EVER LIVED,his music touched my soul when i was a little girl at 11 until now at 32,i stil cry at sum of his song,

  • love this song...what is it about?

  • I think it's about struggles in life but that ultimate goal is to enter heaven when you pass on. Thanks for listening! :)

  • @MrPinoyrock What a lovely sentiment.

  • @MrPinoyrock it is about having the courage to keep on going for a worthy cause even in the face of adversity. Stop that heaven crap, it does not exist, if so where is it?... Please point at it (better not point up into space ok, that's not heaven). Heaven is a religious concept and a myth. Please stick with reality.

  • @Avalita07 Its from the broadway musical Man of la Mancha. It's about a man who isnt reallly right in the head and he fights windmills becuase he thinks theyre giant evil people. Er...thts what my chorus teacher says.

  • its from the musical Man of La Mancha and is sung by the character Don Quixote. It essentially states that, to truly live, you should always strive to achieve goals which perhaps seem impossible. not a bad version Luther

  • @Avalita07 In the musical, Man Of La Mancha, It's about Don Quixote De La Mancha saying that he'll go to the ends of the earth to do what's right, to always fight for what he believes in, no matter how much other people may see it as useless or stupid or ... well, impossible to accomplish. So on and so forth. It's a very touching scene(s), despite the character's madness. I fully recommend the movie or the stage versions.

I must say I'm biased, though; the movie is my favorite.

  • @danetenshijanai I've never seen the movie version, who starred in it?

  • @Avalita07 It's about following what you believe in, no matter what happens to you.

  • @Avalita07 Song is supposed to be sung by a character called Don Quijote De La Mancha. The song was written for the musical Man of La Mancha, it is his life's theme if you will about overtaking some of lifes seemingly impossible goals.

  • @Avalita07 i would think the song is to try your hardest, to be the best you can be for the good of everyone else regardless of the consequences

  • @Avalita07 I think it is from a play about Don Quixote called Man of La Mancha

  • @Avalita07 To be more specific than the other replies, it's about Don Quixote, the Man of La Mancha. A character intended to parody the ideals of chivalry, who instead caused a resurgence in their popularity. Look him up.

  • This is one of the best songs that he has ever sang, r.i.p x x x

  • @rodders77 in your opinion buddy

  • @rodders77 agree

  • i love this song
