Anyone who has driven over-the-road for any amount of time learns that speeding is just useless. A thinking man would calculate the minimal time saved from point A to B and compare that to the money in equipment, possible fines, etc and just leave 5 minutes earlier.
Your first comment to me seemed kind of stupid. I can understand the speed limit having a point in some cases but if your on the freeway at 4am in the morning and your one of five cars on the highway at the time getting a ticket for doing 6mph over the speed limit seems kind of stupid.
kinda depns on the limit you have there but at some highspeeds think of the nascarrace i know you wont be goin 150 mph but it rises the risk of just a simple rock cuttin ur tire that would suck if it was a front tire better not jerk ur wheel or u go flipin but ya know just small things that we dont think about alot ya know? thats what im thinkin about. small things like a rabbit or an animal in the roa and ya catch them in ur lights ya gotta turn pretty hard and u start flipin ya know? idk
Heh bs atleast in california its bs if your going over the speed limit by 5mph they are ok but the moment you go over that like 6mph you get a ticket hell I got a ticket doing 6mph over the speed limit I was doing like 56 coming off a 55mph zone to a 45 and he pulled me over and gave me a ticket forget a warning. <.< I wish laser jammers were not illegal in Cali freakin cops abuse there power a lot of the time. I have only had maybe three cops to this date that didnt abuse there power.
A crime is a crime. A cop can give you a ticket for going 1mph over the speedlimit. Cops don't HAVE to give tickets, and generally they don't. If you're speeding, you're committing a crime, so the cop isn't 'abusing his power', he's doing his job. If you don't want a ticket, don't speed. Simple as that.
It probably doesn't help that California drivers are some of the worst drivers on the West Coast though
I wasnt saying he is abusing his power cuz he pulled me over for speeding iv seen and had to deal with a lot worse from cops out here speeding is nothing. An most of the crazy ass drivers are females so meh im not worried about it. As for speeding im always going to speed I cant help it I hate going slow. :P
anyone owning a radar detector is an absolute moron. Anyone owning a detector is going to get caught by the radar sooner or later and when you do the police (WSP) will NEVER give you even the slightest brake. And if you attempt to contest it, you're really screwed as the judge will see NO sympathy with anyone with a radar detector
suppose if your uncle is the judge that "just happen" to be on the bench when you contest your ticket he'd drop your ticket, but your chances of that or something else are close to 1:Million. Even if you knew another cop, you're S.O.L. Once a ticket is written, it's in stone and cops don't buy into someone dropping names of other police officers even if they are relatives of the one caught for a violation. In short, radar detector owners are screwed....no two ways about it.
The use of any countermeasure device reduces chance of getting caught to minimum in spirited driving. I doubt that people who use a radar detector and/or laser jammer are concerned about contesting tickets in court. We hardly ever get caught :-)
If we are such morons, why is it that our chances of getting caught are so much less??? Your statement makes no sense. Approximately 70% of all speeding tickets are from officer error.
Where's your data of 70%?. the reason that speeding tickets are dropped in court is because he does not show up in court to explain the details of the violation. You're a moron because you have to purchase and use a man made device to make you feel more comfortable with driving over the posted speed limit. The rest of us more intelligent and professional drivers use our common sense, and our eyes to know when there's a speed trap. It's sad you don't use your natural instincts.
More inteligent and professional would be knowing whats going on with your surroundings. It's called "Situational awareness" I do not use a radar detector just for speeding.
yeah last time i was driving the guy in front of me with natural instincts got a ticket for 80 + in a 65, i saw how far he got, lol wow i wonder how i knew about a speed trap a mile before him while the trooper used instant on radar, dumbass
not meaning to be rude but you say professional like your self use commen sense and your eyes to to no when there is a speed trap but i have to dissagree i have a few vids my self check them out see if you can spot the cop shooting laser one cop tryed lasering me approx 800 metre as he was hiding in the bush in the rule book they are to observe your speed and if they think your speeding then they laser so rules are to be broken thats why we use this equipment.your natural instincts
That's a misinformed statement. Just because an Officer has their vehicle behind brush does not mean they can not observe your driving. And on WA State overpasses, like this new one in Lynnwood, they have to observe you coming towards them before they put the radar on catching the back end of your car. It's legal anyway you slice it. It simply comes down to you not speeding, and you won't have to worry about tickets,
Got a ticket for 143 mph Laser.

For a guy who is into speeding you sure play some lame music. Ever heard of techno? Any music whatsoever that matches the tempo of your driving?

Just fyi, lidar and radar used by the police, capture your speed immediately, and you can't slow down fast enough to fool them.
iangg83 3 years ago
Thats why you have a laser jammer like the LPP - to give you time to slow down :-) when they fire laser. It's kind of the point of this video.
That's also why you have to have a decent radar detector - to give yourself as much advance awareness as possible.
Chuck in a GPS detector to cover you for fixed cameras, and you're about set.

Just to be safe, better to buy a radar unit.
I plan to use one, lol.
