fertitas casino's are rumored to be failing.

and if the ufc want to expand they need the capital.

but if fertitas reveal their casinos are tanking it will cause even more people to choose another casino to go to.

so by saying this deal is about business contacts instead of cash, the reputation of the casinos is maintained and thus those customers will keep going there.

@signboyy Your pretty far off, their casinos have already entered bankrupcty to restructure their debtload. Fertittas aren't majority stockholders in the casinos anymore and casinos being bankrupt right now is very common. ~100 million cash doesn't really matter in the scope the casinos, but does free up a large amount that flash can loan to the ufc for expansion. For perspective, ufc currently has debt load of ~450 million dollars, station ~ 650 milllion, flash probably only paid them ~100 mil.

yes but most people dont know the casinos went bankrupt, so of course they want to keep that on the down low. why would they want to admit publicly that that is the reason they want the deal with the sheik? even from a pr perspective its best to keep the true reason for the deal. because if they admit it is simply for financial reasons they it looks like the ufc is not doing well financially and that affects its image in the mma community. they want to keep mma fans think ufc is king.

@signboyy I still think you're reading way too much into it. It's not really a big deal. Partnerships and partial buyouts happen all the time in business. They've said for years they would sell 10-20 percent to someone if it made sense and would help expansion. Anyone in the mma world that cares about the behind the scenes business of mma knows because they already released the info willingly and all the casual "ultimate fighting" fans don't even know or care who owns the company.

fans do care if an mma org is losing money. nobody wants to be with a loser. if it appears the ufc is on the way down and strikeforce is on the way up, fans will switch.

so they hide the fact the ufc is losing money by saying the new partnership is for business contacts instead of cash injection.

The ufc and strikeforce are both privately owned, The ufc continues to expand, selling more ppvs and getting more broadcast deals every year. Mma fans want to see good fighters fight other good fighters, that's what the ufc provides. Any speculation that they are on the verge of bankrupcty or losing money is purely speculation or conspiracy theory.
