@mysticallauren ...I wouldn't either haha. I wouldn't say dull, but sad..absolutely. Music to me is really about expressing your emotions when you can't quite find the words. And this freestyle reflected how I felt at the moment. Thanks for your input. Nothing wrong with opinions. Take care!
The song was amazing, but i had a problem with one thing: you shrugged at the end! why? you are so wonderful, you shouldn't be shrugging like the song wasnt good enough, you should using that violin to fight off adoring fans! Be confident in yourself!
@JOEYtasticBABY Hi. I have one of these same violins and I have a question for you. Have you noticed any bowing in the body due to the string tension? Trying to find out if its common for this plastic model, or if I just got a bad one.
@TheDanielaoso77 oh it was a freestyle on camera actually. I do that sometimes so that I won't forget anything I do when I go to write it all down later. Thank you!
tha was really nice, i my self will always be a old fashion guy and go fer the acoustic. but i always wondered why more younger people the further on time goes go fer the electrics. what made you choose that over an old fashion violin?
@mrdante1287 I have an acoustic, which I LOVE. You simply cannot compare the full, vibrant sound of an acoustic to an electric! I still prefer that over the electric actually, but...ever since I was little and saw Vanessa Mae performing with her white electric violin I couldn't help but want one someday. The ability to alter and play with the sound is pretty refreshing. Gotta keep it interesting!
That's pretty cool. It might sound a bit old fashioned melody and tone-wise and all, for a younger person like yourself, being an original composition and all, even though you are playing an electric violin, but pretty good.
@ricaard what I'm really starting to not like is the instability of the tailpiece and the fine tuners/adjusters. More so the latter actually. The the "screw" component of the fine tuners sometimes slips off of its plastic backing making it nearly impossible to get back on so that I can actually continue tuning. I feel as though its going to break off every time I fix it. It only happens on my d-string, and it may not happen to everyone but the risk it there.
@JOEYtasticBABY and although you can get the "right" sound out of the violin and make it relatively pleasant, it takes some patience and manipulation. I just feel like if you can save up a little extra, you might as well get a sturdier and better sound quality model.
@ThePipercole As with any violin, rosin up the bow very well. As for the "electric" sound, you need to purchase an amp. Look into getting some stompbox/effects pedals also.
@vppromoter I actually shot this with a canon powershot sx10 IS and left the video as is. No editing (I don't really know what to do when it comes to editing and remaking, honestly.. haha)
@Nkdoubleu99 no I don't. I'm actually considering getting one, I'm too used to the full body of an acoustic. This violin is starting to get to me haha
you are soo nice :) pleaase add me to ur msn or yahoo, i would love to be ur friend, im also a musician and a writter, and i would like to have friends that create art like ourselves....
Niceness! where did you get that violin from? There are a few on eBay but i'm not sure if they are the same brand. they are the same shape tho. this one you have sounds good, but maybe that's just because you got so much talent ;)
@mbarry6 I ordered it from an online vendor about 2 or three years ago and I can't remember their name. Odds are the violins you're looking at on eBay are the same as my Sojing--I don't know of any other brands that manufacture that same exact shape. If you're looking for an inexpensive electric violin to start out with, I definitely recommend this one, just keep in mind you'll have to buy some kind of amp! All in all it's much quieter than my acoustic; great for quiet practice sessions.
@mbarry6 my advice is to NEVER EVER BUY A SOJING. I bought one and it was crap. If you want an electric, just get a yamaha, or a fender. Theyre pretty cheap (200-300) used online. Or if you want to go spendier (nicer) you could get a mark woods , or an ns design wav 4. I bought a wav 4 and i realllly like it. but theyre about 600.
@Rooftopaccessorizer Also, by crap, i meant that the bridge was really cheap, It was nearly impossible to tune, and It picked up radio signals( no joke) when i was trying to play.
@Rooftopaccessorizer I'd have to agree. If you have an extra buck, go for a "pricier" model. The key is to do the research on your part. I went super cheap on this one, but it served its purpose. I'm still looking to upgrade in the future.
@nikrophiliac thanks, and definitely... Sojin's like mine aren't expensive at all! The quality may not be the best but it's good enough for me...especially considering the price. The acoustic amp I listed was a steal and the stompbox pedals came in a trio.
for whitepawrolls it is wood not plastic it has a stain on it to make it shinie

@ricaard well because you didn't, my advice would be to opt for a "pricier" model. Great beginner electric, but I already want something more.
