Making the Montmarte artists who draw in the tourists foot the bill? ...They should'nt have to pay anything at all. Tourists aren't loyal they will simply go else ware if the artists are dirven away by high tariff.
Thank you MeshRoun for your support..the place du tertre without the artists would be like the moulin rouge without the dancers.I urge all you-tubers to back us on this. The mayor,MrVaillant wants to increase the pitch-location charge by 300%.This is a killer blow for many painters and portraitists who have already been put under pressure this year
by the global recession.please back us post a comment!!
Ever since Jongkind and Pissaro moved to Montmartre, this little district of Paris has always been a gathering for artists, Monet, Van Gogh, Picasso, Dali, ... When tourists come to Paris, they go to Montmartre to grasp a flavor of that bohemian life lead by the artists... in particular "les impressionistes", breaking the rigidity of the Salon to bring the wonders of the world to the people. Todays artists follow this mission...let's hope that the authorities can open their eyes too ..
