  • Watch this girls cover of the theme song. It's really good:

    /watch?v=G0_m5FGvsv0&feature=related

  • 0:37 wayne brady?

  • A bunch of niggers on an island..Lets hope more join them...

  • @Jonwalker92 why???? just why????

  • This brings back so many good memories. To be a child again...

  • My dad watched Captain Kangaroo.

    I like Mister Rogers

My girl likes Dora the Explorer.

I think the message is the same. Just a different way to say it.

  • This is my all time favorite childhood show... I think the intro gave me subliminal messages to join marching band... o_o;

  • Let's all go to Gullah Gullah Island!

  • @freemoney911 yes me too

  • My daughter would faithfully watch this at her gmom's indian style on da floor. I menba this like yesterday.

    (:

  • >"Hey there!" < (in bedroom voice) "Hiiiiii."

  • @rlcorrigan that just made me die laughing :)

  • Got upset when it finished. Really was in the mood to watch an episode of this

  • when time travle is possible

I wont waste it on telling myself not to do shit or prevent 9/11 or something like that

I'd go to the 90's and watch myself grow up

    and watch some awesome TV

  • i am trying to remember if i watched this show or not back then. i think i did when i was in kindergarden. the theme song sounds familiar though

  • this is my Favorite show i watched it in in the summer with my cousins but it don"t come on anymore :.(

  • I miss this show...I never really had a childhood but I still see some of these shows

  • My childhood. Where did you go? -sobs-

  • I use to wanna live on gullah gullah island!

  • back when nick jr was the shit

  • reminds me of the show with the lemur.

  • Just found Ron and Natalie on Facebook.

  • @abcrolyat123 did that show expire

  • oh my god. I can't believe I watched this so much when i was little!

  • wait a min i had seen this show at 3:00 and 3:30

  • i play thriller on that

  • I'm 24 and this puts a big smile on my face :D

  • I can't believe I wore that in the 90's.... wow

  • I will always remember this show as the last show that I got into on Nick Jr. The other shows didn't look good to watch because I was getting older. Well, I didn't mind watching Gullah Gullah Island when it came on after a show that I liked. So show sorta marks my transition point.

  • GAH! NOSTALGIA! <3 ASDFJK;

  • The Memories of my childhood!!!!!!

  • I always thought Luther Vandross sung the theme song lol

  • This was an awesome show!! I love the intro!!! :D

  • I was born in 1995, but I remember this show pretty well. It was one of my favourites and this song still gets stuck in my head from time to time.

  • *wipes teers away* i miss this show

  • This was fun to watch before going to kindergarten in the mornings. :)

  • Another great show I watched as a child. 90's kids had the best entertainment on tv. Too bad it's not like that today.

  • I trade 2012 for the 90's back

  • @freemoney911 i was born in 98 so i dunno what the 90's were really like.

  • @iikandikid It was the best days in a kids life! Music was great, cartoons was top hit, and things was cheap then. Kid! You have no idea how much fun the 90's where.

  • @freemoney911 Yeah, the last decade and a half have been pretty dismal

  • @dextonrs21 no way lol

  • @freemoney911 If we sign a petition will that work?

  • @thewardenlover that will work if we can get that started

  • I'm watching all these old nickelodeon shows and I'm starting to realize....I think they might have been trying to destroy racism entirely with our generation. Seriously every show has a lot of black people and only a few white people, but they mixed them pretty well. Think about nowadays, it's either all white or all black.

  • @TheEternalunrest actually, I don't think there are any Black shows anymore..

  • i watched this all the time! just a few days ago they were showing it on a channel devoted to nick toons. things like this, little bear, and some early 00's shows are shown.

  • hey there

  • @logick0 hi

  • lol he sounds just like wayne brady

  • omgosh black people on tv!

  • stop at 0:27 to see gullah gullah island

  • i remember watchin this all the time

  • Black people have beautiful singing voices (not trying to be racist, just my personal opinion. They just sound so wonderful <3)

  • my sister used to say bugga bugga island

  • I miss this show. I used to plan my WHOLE day around watching it.

  • @AzuraSubaku It is on Nick JR.Channel Like in the middle of the night You have to check the times on your end

  • @KidHunni really!? I'll totally check. thanks!

  • @AzuraSubaku Your Welcome It is probably on Sat. Provider!

  • @AzuraSubaku Musta had a pretty hefty schedule when you were....4? lol Idk I think I was around that age. Old enough to remember it.

  • I miss this show! T.T

  • I miss all these t.v shows!!

  • God i used to love this show

  • "Gullah Gullah Island-duh"

  • The Gullah Gullah house WAS the Clarrisa Explains It All house back i the day. Compare, I found this out a while back, they are indeed the same set! or were.

  • Good to know ive been singing the correct lyrics ever since the show went off air. loved this shit!

  • binyah binyah

  • Eh...shit compared to the kids cartoons just one age group younger. Where's Reading Rainbow, bitches?

  • I agree, with everyone. Since these days the shows are good for kids, but there is just a massive suckage level on the new Nick Jr. show.

  • just a bunch of slaves

  • I know these people! As a little kid in South Carolina, I lived down the street from them!!!!!

  • Me and my brother would always sing "skulla skulla island" instead of "Gulla Gulla Island".

  • I remember I woke up in the middle of the night to get some water, when I returned to my room, this was playing. All I could say was "I must be stoned as fuck."

  • i like it fast

  • - luv this show!.. it still come on Late nite on Nick jr, =]

  • when I was a kid, and this show came on, I QUICKLY grabbed my remote turned to something else... one of the "funniest" shows ever except for Teletubbies and Barney.. if u know what i mean

  • at the end of the video they go hey there!.....hi!

and then the video ends but i wanted to keep watching :(

  • haha da guy is like "Come on and lets play together!"

UMmm sorry misster my moomy said NOT to play with creepy old men!" hahahahahahaahhahaaha

  • OH MY GOODNESS I forgot about this show!!!

  • I still want to dance around to this song...

  • Whenever I see my cousin, we always watch this show. And he's 12 and I'm almost 15. Hooray for nostalgia!!!

  • Gullah Gullah island hasn't been on since like 2001

  • @carlyo72

It's always on Nick Jr still...

  • stanley

  • gullah gullah islands still around if you have the nick jr channel it comes on at 3:00 i think

  • OMG. I used to, watch this on Nick Jr Every single morning as a kid... This, Blues Clues, Little Bear, Rugrats... The 90's was a great time to be a kid... Television just isn't the same!

  • man I remember this show. Before I didn't even remember it god I'm such a bad person not remembering a show from my childhood. My mom said hey Meg do you remember your favorite show? I said what show? She says Gullah Gullah Island? I said what is that? Man I can't believe I forgot about thise show then a few days after I started watching it and remembered it XD.

  • It is funny how many people have searched and watched this video, but it was definitely my favorite kid show growing up in the 90's! Guess I am not the only who the good old days.

  • My. SHOW!!!!!! THANK U FOR POSTING :-)

  • Freaky.

  • after over 10 years of not watching this show, i could still sing the beginning: "come and lets play together..." my five year old self would be proud. lol

  • Binja Binja Pollywog! I miss Gulla Gulla Island. I honestly think I learned to sing from my mom and I memorizing the themes to all these shows, this and bananas in pajamas and the magic school bus and Out Of The Box and stuff from The Bug Comfy Couch. I miss my childhood sometimes.

  • How did I NOT notice the entire cast was Black when I was a kid!?!?

  • i miss this show i use alway look foward to watching it

  • This theme song rules.

  • how do i know these words....

  • That "Wow" in the URL is definitely right....

  • why are they black??-

  • @IHopeIDontRemember The better question is, why aren't you black?

  • @IHopeIDontRemember because gullah is an african american culture duh. my grandparents= gullah and I'm proud

  • this is before people questioned: "WHY ARE THEY BLACK??"

  • i'm a 1991 baby, this is my childhood and i know all 90s kids can sympathize with me when i say i miss my childhood. Everything was so good on tv and now on disney and nick these shows make no sense with the exceptions of a few. I watched Gullah Gullah Island everyday back then when on nick jr it was FACE who greeted me when i woke up....memories.

  • @babyV712 what if this show went nowadays, would you still say the same?

  • @babyV712 PREACH!

  • @babyV712 As a foreigner who has never seen this show before, I can safely say that it doesn't seem any better than what's on children's television these days. Unless of course the show is nothing like the intro indicates.

  • @babyV712 I miss Face... I was born in late 1989, so I grew up with Face. I remember he made me want to try peanut-butter and banana sandwitches...

  • @babyV712 I couldn't agree with you more! Whenever someone asks where would you go if you could go back in time, most people answer that they would go back to see Ancient Greece and the Gladiators, The assassination of Abraham Lincoln and even the first time we landed on the moon. But not me, if I had a choice, I would go back in time to when I was young to re-live the 90's and ALL it's spectacular shows. Long Live the 90's!

  • @babyV712 I was born in 2001 and i much rather prefer everything from the 90s and I DO miss my mom telling me how great the 90s were and I agree with her!

  • @babyV712 you speak the truth. i feel sorry for kids of today, they don't know what they've missed.

  • @babyV712 I'm a 1982 baby, and the way you feel about Nick shows today, is the way I felt about Gullah Gullah Island.

  • @babyV712 i'd say we'd have the best of childhood shows <3 GO 90's!

  • @babyV712

mmmmmeeeee too I'm an 88 baby but I watched it in kindergarden through second grade right after Allegra's Window (I miss that show!) and face was my favorite part about tv! I miss him too. I found a vid compilation of him for 1997 and I actually cried lol.

  • @babyV712 couldnt agree with you more im also a 1991 babie and im beinging to think that its shows these days that suck their Iq's down the drain but i cant help but think that adults in the 90's were thinking the same thing

  • I met them in Georgia!

  • not this part of youtube again... dam you twitter!

  • What the Hell? Renee you're crazy...

  • Renee you sick mutha fucka

  • ''Just take your food in your hand''

    Wtf :D

  • I wish more black people would act like them instead of like katt williams

  • miss this show

  • Gullah Gullah is an old Ritiual chant they used to sacrafice women to worship their demon god.

  • I was about nine when this came on, and I was old enough to realize it was strange to have two positive black people host a children's show. How times have changed. (I just remembered Levar Burton . . . . that's Reading Rainbow if you don't know what I'm talking about).

  • Btw....voice at the very end sounds like the "Oh nooo.." guy from Family Guy..crazzzy

  • My niggas

  • OH THE MEMORIES.

  • I never knew what foot in your hand meant and just NOW AS I AM TYPING THIS I am realizing that the next words out of the woman's mouth are THAT MEANS HURRY UP! I wasnt a smart child obviously.

    Ich kenne es nicht xD

  • i miss this show

  • it is funny, i never remembered they all being black either, ahhh the sweet innocence of children and not giving a crap about color of skin.

  • The parents on the show look exactly like my parents, they should air it again...you know...for the kids.

  • now this wa smy show when i was little

  • To date, this is still the worst show that was ever on Nick Jr.

  • I love this show. This show taught me alot about family, and friends, and being caring, and it brings to me about my African cultrue and though it was cool
