  • Love you Ted

  • 'Nite Ted.

  • Night Dermot x

  • "Ah worse than Hitler, you wouldn't find Hitler playing Jungle music at three in the morning!"

  • that one dislike is getting squished in the corner :/

  • one person is a right ole bolux. also how did that sheep get on that boat? lol

  • Good night Ted......R.I.P. sweet friend

  • Dougal: Forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever...

  • Dermot morgan one of the funniest men alive R I P 3 march 1952-28 february 1998

  • This is so sad, looking back at the episodeS in the three series and then with the knowledge that Dermot Morgan has died. And then the last bit of Father Ted ever is one final shot of the Craggy Island Parochial House and Ted and Dougal's voices are heard one last time before the light in the house is turned off and the series ends. Fantastic show, fantastic acting and fantastic tribute to the show by adding this one minute clip at the end of the last series!!! GREAT SHOW!!

    RIP DERMOT MORGAN.

  • Much love mate thanks so much for the laughs!

  • Much love, Dermot.

  • R.I.P dermot morgan the greatest actor who played father ted

  • so what is the final episode? i dont tink ive eva seen it

  • @TheFlyingGinger1 Going to America

  • To this day, and i know himself would hate this, but i can't help but think of Dermot and not think Ted. His passing in a way saved him from having to escape the character he helped create, like in the 'mainland' episode where Richard Wilson can't escape 'i don't beeelieve it'. I truely believe Ted would've haunted him even till now. A tragic loss still though and this final clip always gives me the blues.

  • @BFMachine In a way you could say the same thing about Ardal O'Hanlon and Pauline Mclynn. They haven't escaped the characters of Dougal and Mrs Doyle. Graham Norton has gone on to become very successful but he always remembers fr ted gave him his break, which is nice to hear, likewise frank kelly has expanded his repertoire and jim norton aka Len won a tony award in recent years. How would things have worked out with Dermot? Sadly we'll never know. R.I.P Dermot

  • @Thyler I know a few people have said this to u already but just so u know. .Father Ted is the best IRISH comedy ever!,it's not British!

  • father ted is classic

  • its wierd that Dermort Morgan died straight after it all ended.

  • A depressing tune under the circumstances =(

  • RIP Dermot Morgon

  • Omg. The montage at the end of the last episode made me cry so badly.

  • Did they ever say what the original ending was going to be?

  • @redback3 Yes, it was going to be a sad ending. It was going to end with Father Kevin back on the ledge, getting ready, again, to commit suicide. Ted appears again, but instead of trying to talk Kevin out of it, he goes and joins Kevin on the ledge, and it was going to end with both of them about to jump.

Even if Dermot Morgan had not died, the writers later admitted that the sad ending wouldn't have worked anyway.

  • @athull08 You gotta be trolling man

  • @IrishChamp180 look it up. Unless it's one of those wikipedia conspiracies, it's 100% true. Look up the episode (Going to America) and see what you think.

  • RIP Dermot =(

It's Irish. I'M Irish, I know the accents! British is totally different!

  • Can we just shut up about whether it's Irish or British? Who cares!? It's a comedy show! Not a political debate!

  • In a way, it was the perfect ending. When Dougal delivers that final line about Ted being doomed to remain on Craggy Island "for ever and ever and ever...", it's got such weight because of the death of Dermot Morgan. You know it really is the very end. That Ted will never escape, because it's no longer possible to go beyond that moment. It's so poigniant to end something so funny with such sadness of real life circumstances. It's just a shame that this perfect ending came about because of that.

  • And there goes the greatest british comedy ever.... R.I.P dermont

  • @Thtyler Best irish comedy.

    you mean...

  • @Thtyler The greatest BRITISH comedy

I think your wrong it was an IRISH comedy

    & yes R.I.P Dermot

  • @AgentSpeed92 Yes i know already

  • best way to end the series :')

    R.I.P. Dermot Morgan

  • Whenever I hear this Wonderful tune 'Songs of Love' by Neil Hannon of Devine Comedy, I think of this montage and a tear comes to my eye.

    Rest in peace Funnyman Dermot.

  • The odd this was he really wanted to be a serious actor, as in serious films. I don't think anyone would have done a better job as Father Ted. Legendary.

  • @paulewing81 understand what you say.. but he was human and humans have addictions... smoking is NOT illegal. and if was not smoking that ended his life then it would be something else.. healthy people die as well.. no cure for death... take care... God bless Dermot.. RIP.

  • RIP Dermot... love ya

  • definately some of the best bits :L

  • I love so much Father Ted.

  • R.I.P. Dermot Morgan ya feckin legend! :( (:

  • father ted..... LEGEND!!!

  • man this clip was sad to watch

    r.i.p dermot

  • Father Stack was the best,

"you say that to me again, I'll put your head through the wall"

    Priceless

  • I've heard that the original final scene was to be Ted and Kevin (the suicidal preist) both jumping of a ledge and commiting suicide. This was dropped because

a)Morgan's real-life death after the final day of filming

    b)It just wasn't funny

c)A memorial of clips would be a beter tribute to him

  • Ive always loved father ted, and havent saw it in yearsss...just watching this 56 sec clip bought back soo many memories. RIP Dermot

  • Dermot Morgan was a legend, such a tragedy that his life ended, he will always be an icon for comedy in my opinion My Favourite Episode of all time was When they accused him of being a Racist that was stomach achingly funny and just as funny when he kicked Bishop Brennan up the arse.

  • crikey,I haven't seen a funnier man since this great man.

  • It's so sad that God had to take such a brilliant man away. Dermot Morgan will never be replaced as an actor and he is one of my favourite comedians ever. Scrap Saturday was priceless! ***

  • Father ted is funny as fuck its the funniest programme ever (i think neways) HaHaHa x

  • father ted is and always will be my favourite tv show ever... as a chlid it was great, as an adult it is even better. I almost cry when i see this at the last episode *sadface*

honestly dougal + ted were just the best characters ever. and the scriptwriting hasnt been seen since. RIP

  • R.I.P Dermot Morgan

We all miss you very much

  • Love the dancing priest!!! One of my fave episodes when they are trying to get the dent out of the car classic! R.I.P Dermot Morgan

  • isn't life so cruel to have taken this man at such an early age...I'm sure it would still be on tv now I always watch the repeats and even though i no whats going to happen...i still laugh!! god bless Father ted.

  • The offical endding was gonna be that after Ted heared that he couldn't go to US that he would join that guy at the start and end up killing himself, but they changed It, and thank god they did :) - Best Show Ever!

  • Dermot was a genius. His timing and delivery were incredible, and I'd find it hard to believe if he wasn't a wonderful guy in real life too. If he's anywhere right now, I hope he's happy

  • I hate watching this episode. I love Father Ted and all but it makes me sad to know that Dermot died less than 24 hours after this ep was filmed. Still one of my favourite TV shows of all time though.

    RIP Dermot

  • Fantastic, if only there were MANY more!

  • R.I.P. Dermot Morgan

  • i wish he didnt die i luv father ted :(

  • I remember when it was announced that Dermot Morgan had died on a Sunday evening, me and my family were genuinely upset, it was such a tragedy.

Father Ted is a timeless comedy, an absolute classic!

  • This is such a legendary show

  • i love this show sooo much

    RIP Dermot

i remember being about 6 when i found out he was dead. i missed him loads

  • great show and great characters, its sad that ted died after filming the show, anyway great end to the series and RIP Dermot Morgan.

  • It's quite difficult to watch knowing that he died a matter of hours after this was filmed. In the final episode he doesn't look well at all.

  • 'The best thing ever to come out of Ireland'?

That would be my Mum! x x x

  • RIP Dermot Morgan

Father Ted=the best show~~~ Anybody know of any similar shows to this one? (similar humour, etc)

  • I wish Dermot Morgan knew how popular Father Ted still is. He was, by far, my favourite character, as well as a childhood hero of mine. A lovely dry British/Irish sense of humour. I was around 8 when the show first aired, and it influenced me a lot, belive me! I still watch it atleast every week :)

  • RIP Dermot Morgan

  • RIP Dermot Morgan

  • The single greatest thing to ever come out of our country!

  • Second to my Mum x x x

  • Down with this sort of thing.

    Careful now.

    Father Ted,the best show ever

  • ironically dat was da last episode b4 he died, may he reat in peace

  • One of the best shows ever. FECK OFF!!!

  • :'(

  • So many memories.......

  • Such a legend, best comedy by miles.

  • Definately a Legend, RIP.

  • It'll be 10 years ago, this month. RIP.

  • R.I.P dermot morgan thanks for all the laughs in Father ted

  • LEGEND :) xo

  • Best feckin comedy show since Logie Baird invented the telly.

  • Cried my eyes out when I first saw this. A fitting end to a wonderful programme and a great tribute to a genius cut off in his prime.

  • dermot and ardal go well together

  • thanks so much Dermot, you're a bloody legend

  • 'night Ted !

  • lol @ 00:32

    :D:D:D

  • RIP Dermot, thanks for all the laughs.

  • Father Ted is Awesome...

I Cried the first time I saw this on TV...

    RIP Dermot and thank you...

  • well whatever. its still great

  • i'd just like to know...what was the other ending they had? just curious

  • The other ending involved ted and another unknown character commiting suicide by jumping off a ledge.

    Thank goodness they changed it.

  • favourited

  • RIP

  • There were rumours after the series that had not dermot died there would have been a Fr.Ted movie

  • that's b.s dermott said before tmaking the third series that it was the last series as he didnt want to be father ted anymore in fear of being typecast

  • Thats why it was a RUMOUR

  • nice tribute-also is very sad.

  • Awesome show, God bless the Irish.

  • Dermot's death has nothing to do with the change of the ending. The original ending (where Ted joins another character in a joint suicide) was thought not funny once it was filmed, and they were always going to replace it with the montage.

  • Its such a shame that he died, this would have been even better if the show had continued.

  • even if he hadn't passed away, this was set to be the last one. it would have been hard to come up with many more ideas for random and hilarious episodes anyway lol.

    fantastic show + fantastic cast

  • Brilliant!

  • That was a great tribute

  • .R.I.P.

  • *tear*

    Awesome show, never forgotten

  • great Irish Comedian,

Not appreciated in Ireland befor Fr Ted on British Channell 4-

Not popular with irish politicans either because he got too close to the bone with his satire.

    A great loss - RIP

If ever in Dublin have a sit on his chair in Merrion Square Park.

  • R.I.P Mate

  • RIP Dermot

  • Night Ted

    Night Dougal

Closing with the celebration of the ordinary perhaps the mundane was very fitting.

  • omg that was lovely and sad and i like the way at the end they say night dougal night ted and everything goes dark rip dermot and luv ya ardal

  • This was such a beautiful montage to finish the final episode. Having to change the ending because of Dermott's death must have been really hard for all involved but they could not have come up with a more heartfelt tribute to him. Feck I loved this show. RIP Dermott.

  • It's made even better that it ties into the final episode as well...

  • RIP Dermot, you great LEGEND!!!! Still maikn us laugh after all these yrs. Genius!

  • Thank you, that was lovely!
