Aircraft Carriers in FSX - Static Carriers

cables on carriers only show up if you have acceleration and Look in the right place.

One carrier is in San Francisco by the Golden Gate. Head west at the bridge. Date is also a key factor. If you don't see it, change the date.

You need to make sure that you set 11:35 am for the time, select 100% ships in the graphics. There are 2, one moving and one static. At 11:35 she should be just outside the dock headed for open sea.

there is a good addon called AI carriers. You can find it on simviation. It allows you to place whole fleets and also control ships movement. Thanks alot for all the vids

You click that, pick the type of carrier you want, and then the distance you want it from your aircraft. There, youve got a fully functioning aircraft carrier

For a working carrier fly from KNGU heading 280 and there will be two carriers one static and thus anchored the other not. Set day to Friday and time to under 15:30 for it to be still and 15:35 for it to be leaving the docks.

For a working carrier (without add-ons) set the day to Friday (any Friday) to have the carrier still have the time as 15:30 for it moving have it as 15:35 fly on heading 280 from KNGU.

P.S there are two carriers the smaller one is the working one.

if you want to brake hard with taildraggers, pull back on the stick. This will create drag from the airflow and slow your aircraft down a lot quicker. Also you can hit the brakes while doing this and the plane wont tumble forward and bounce like 100 feet in the air (happens to my P-40 warkhawk)...happy flying guys!

@multiben200000 you may want to get AiCarriers2, it is free and allows you to place a carrier anywhere in the world and still fly at the same time, so you can practice the carrier pattern and stuff like that.  It has working trap cables and a working catapult, and depending on which version of the aircraft carrier itself you have, you can even go below decks using the elevator for aircraft.

@levelat350 That's a static carrier, so there are no arrestor cables to stop the aircraft. Only prop aircraft and warbirds will be able to land here.

I tried this I landed with n F/A-18 to do a cat shot as usual taxi to that area, press shift+U to lower the landing bar, then Shift+I to attach it to the cat. then just Press Shift+Space to launch. To land, just lower the arrester hook and land the aircraft on the carrier. Of course the cables or the cat doesn't work because all other default aircraft don't have launch bars or arrester hooks, which only the F/A-18 has.

Carrier landings aren't officially landings, they are arrivals. Thew aircraft does not usually flare
