  • Sawadii Ka! You are a very good ajarn. Several years ago I lived in Thailand for a little over a year , but I've forgotten most of the Thai I learned. Thanks for the refresher. How would you say, 1) I am living in... and 2) I am staying at... in Thai. Krop Kun Ka

  • @ulallume hi ka. you can just use " Chan a-saai yoo ti..." for "I'm living in..." and use "Chan yoo ti..." for "I'm staying at.." :) If you feel like to, please visit my new channel na ka. it's called 'stillokay' :) Have a good day.

  • I plan to visit thailand one day when I afford it ! I have never been but I have lots of freinds who have and I have seen lots of Thai clips on youtuibe and it looks mind blowing in every way! Nightlife, Natural Beauty ( Beaches / Islands / Wildlife ) Cheap drinks, Very interesting culture, Stunning Food, Lots of tourists and lovely women ( I met lots in Stockholm, Sweden ) so I think I just might learn some words for when I eventually go there :) You made a very good learning video btw X

  • Very helpful video. Thank you very much.

  • @Goatoftheforest You're welcome :) Thank you for watching my video :)

  • lovely! how do you say, "I'm enjoying my time here." and i am a boy.

  • @sicklegs123 Thank you :) We don't usually say "I'm enjoying my time here" which is "Phom gum-lung sanook yoo tini" (this phrase actually means " I'm having fun here", however we usually say something like "I like it here" which is "Phom shorb tini" as well :)

  • Thanks this helped a lot!

  • thank you for the video !i am just starting to learn and this is helping me a lot!

  • That really helped me Kay !! I like how you teach. You're the best ever!!

    Steve USA

  • thanks can you make any more vidios????

  • lol nice one i can understand now

  • very understandable, thanks! :)

  • your Wai isn't good enogh

  • My fiancee is from Thailand and I've decided to learn Thai for two reasons: (1) We'll surely be going to Thailand fairly frequently to visit her parents, etc. and (2) my kids aren't gonna' be talking garbage behind my back and getting away with it because I can't understand them!!!

  • thumb up if you learn how to speak thai because of Tony Jaa

  • Ever since i picked up muay thai a year ago i was sure i wanted to learn some thai language and communicate in thai with my krus. Thanks alot for this vid! Sawaddee krup :)

    From singapore

  • Great lesson for anyone going to Thailand for the first time.

  • Korb koon for this vidéo... :-)

  • I'm trying to learn as much Thai as possible because I have many Thai friends, but the proper way seems to be different from what they speak. Apparently they speak a mixture of Thai and Cambodian, have you heard this?

  • @AugustBurnsRed23 only one of my friends does that, and she's from a province close to Cambodia :) but if you speak standard Thai to them, i'm sure they'll understand you anyway :)

  • That really helped me! Thanks alot!

  • I want to learn how to say "The girl in this video seems to be such a sweetheart and she is also very cute!" :)

  • I think many foreigners have the same problem with how to WRITE Thai. I mean proper Thai language, Thai grammar, how to write them! I reakon it's easy to learn how to speak or communicate with Thai people or it's still a benefit just for now. What about if they live in Thailand and cannot read or even write? it's just a waste to learn then.

  • @BenzieGranger try Thai language courses for foreigners at Srinakharinwirot University. They're professional there. I got some foreign friends who've taken those courses. Nowadays, they can read and even write Thai. Good luck.

  • @mzsimmonz You're welcome. Have a good time in BKK! :)

  • Thanks for your lesson!! I like to learn new language. It is my favorite interesting!

I feel that Thai alphabet is some difficult for me in the begining...Maybe next time you could teach how to write Thai language!

ps. Your English is pretty good!

  • เก่งจัง

  • so thai, like mandarin, uses the same word for 'sorry' and 'excuse me'!

  • Hello (Sawaddee krab),

i'm trying to learn thai language, but i have a little confused between sa wat dii khrap and sawadde krab? why in books Khrap(male) and your's krab(male)? and also YES, is Chai, but yours is Krab?

hope you will answer this. thanks Khawp khun Khrap (or Salamat po in tagalog and Kamsa hamnida in korean) :)

  • @mapos27 hey there. sawaddee ka. one of the most important things of learning thai language is that you should pay attention on how it's actually pronounced, not how it's written, because sometimes it's quite impossible to use English writing to perform some certain Thai words. Some Thai sounds don't exist in English :) So most of the time, they are written up by the writers from their understanding. For both 'sa wat dii khrap' and 'sawaddee krab' are correct.

  • @mapos27 sorry i've to make 2 messages because it's too long lol anyway, in thai language, we don't pronounce 't' sound at the end of any thai word at all. also 'Khrup' and 'Krab' are correct as long as it makes you pronounce the correct sound 'kr^b' (phonetic). however, i think i made mistake on that one because it seems like it has made people pronouce it incorrectly like 'crap' or something. I apologize for my mistake, i might make a video to correct that mistake sooner or later :)

  • @mapos27 also Yes is Chai = correct, but we don't use 'chai' for 'yes' all the time though. you can use 'Ka' or 'Krub' for 'yes' as well, not wrong.

  • @metalizaa - hello there, now i know, thanks for answering my question and hope to see your video, thanks a lot,

  • @metalizaa - Hello there, now i know, thank you for answering my questions, and hope to see your video soon, Thanks alot.. :)

  • @metalizaa - and if you want to learn my language, i'm willing to teach you. ^_^

  • @mapos27 Sweet! :)

  • @metalizaa hahahaha, just send me a message if you want, thanks :)

  • No offense, but I think Thai sounds like a harsh version of Vietnamese.

  • Your helping me so much, next time I go Thai I will know whats happening.

  • thanks it was really very helpful. i would love to have Thai lessons with u online if that would be possible..

  • yes this video helps me chat with my thai girfriend thank you very much

  • What is the difference between mai mee and dai mii ??

  • @rolbiecki The meanings are different. 'mai mee' = 'not have', but 'dai mai' = 'can?'

  • @metalizaa Can i get some help on translating a thai phrase for me?

    "sawadikup kumsukmailancockum"

I'm sure the first word means hello or greetings. But i'm not sure what the 2nd word means. I need to prove my friend wrong so please help me. Thanks in advance!

  • @tarantio21 sorry but, i'm sure the 2nd word isn't thai language

  • na rak!

  • Sawadee Krab

I am only back from Thailand and I want to start to learn so it will be better for my next .

Korb Koon Krab for all your lessons

  • Khraap khun mak!

Quick question - is "Pood phaasa angkrit?" the same as "Pood angkrit dai mai?"

  • @jakebmta not exactly the same :) in thai language, we usually use '..dai mai' at the end of a statement to make a question for 'can I ...?' 'can you ...?' 'can this ...?' 'can that ...?' etc. :) If you use 'pood phaasa angkrit?' as a question, that will sound strange to thai people. :)

  • @metalizaa awesome, thanks...errr...khraap khun khraap!

  • thank you

  • you are rly sweet ;) thanks

  • I probably need to get my lessons from someone less attractive so I can actually pay attention. :)

  • salamat po..that is thank you in my language...i am a singer from philippines..and your tips is very helpful to me...

  • Thaaanks a lot.. very useful. I just arrived in Bangkok now and need some basics :)

  • I want to learn really I do. I just can't seem to wrap my head around the language. Oh and by the way if any of you speak Burmese I need to learn that too. I am an EMT working in an area with a lot of Burmese imigrants. Great people. Wish I knew how to speak to them so I can help them.

  • Oh WTF no wonder it's different words cuz I just noticed that us said how to speak Thai when i heard sweaters cuz in Lao we say sabaidee

  • you cute ♥ ^//^ thank you for the help :))

  • I am coming to Thailand, and I get very sick if I eat coriander. Can you show me how to say "no coriander" PLEASE. I believe I have to say "mai paak chii", but I'm not sure if this is polite??

  • @MsPepsi63

If politely it would be "mai sai paak chii na krub"

  • TO ASK SOME ONE CAN YOU SPEAK ENGLISH YOU SAY "CAN YOU SPEAK ENGLISH!!!!1 HAHAHAHAHA AND IF YOU YOU SPEAK ENGLISH LOUDLY THEN MOST PEOPLE CAN UNDERSTAND THATS WHY WE SHOUT AT THE FRENCH

  • Thanks you very much I form Russia I love Thailand and Thai language , thanks you :)

    ^_______________^

  • Hello.

i work with many thai and Lao people.

They like to mix the two languages together and confuse me for fun, but I can figure it out.

i have been speaking " Farang" thai for 2 years now.

When my friends speak to me they never pronounce the letter "R"

but, i heard you pronounce the letter"R''.

Is that a thai or Lao trait/

  • Can i get away with saying kob kun(kun as in" oo" for thankyou?

  • @roguemale57

Cop Coon Cup Works for thank you.

Without cup at the end it's considered rude unless you're good friends with the person and they aren't older than you.

  • @xlonex Kob kun cop krub. I got back with my philippino girlfriend but, if she pulls the same stunt-chan yak pai thailand! Chan chob kon thai.

  • @roguemale57

In Thailand it's polite to say Cop Coon Cup, you can write it phonically any way you like. But saying Kob Kun Cop Krub is saying the same word two times but writing them different phonically. "cop" and "Krub" stand for the same Thai word. To say the word properly you'd pronounce it "Krupb", but most people here in Thailand tend to just say "cup"

  • @roguemale57 Yes, you can.

  • @metalizaa Kob kun cub. Chan chob your video. Chan yak pai thailand one day. Chan chob muang thai.

If my philippino girlfriend pulls the same stunt again with me-i'll go.

    Chok dee krub.

  • thanks for the vid :D, i will go to thai the next month and the only thing that i know is cum suai ma and karuna (actually i dont know what means) would you teach me some more and some info about phuket? thanks korb koon

  • Interesting language. And great (beauty) speaker! ;) Thanks!

  • thank you for your video lesson. I am looking for someone to teach basic thai to Farang tourists with me in Chaingmai. if you are interesed or you know some one in Chiangmai who would like to do this with me than write Me

  • I took some Thai lessons and they would use the word 'Chi' for 'yes' in a sentence ?But you just use Krap/Ca for 'yes'? Which is correct or most used?

  • this is so helpful!! i am going to visit thailand next week, and i wanted to learn some phrases, and it's nice to learn from you!! thank you ^_^

  • Holy Krab ^^

  • Hey I'm Thai too...well half Thai anyway. This is a nice 'refresher course' I remember my mom teaching me these phrases when I was younger. Good job on explaining the use of Krap and Ka!

  • Comment removed

  • how to say "i love you" ? you are cute.*****

  • @tongpeter2010

I love you = Pom Ra Kun

  • hey im thai too!!!cool!!!!!!!!! sawadiclap coon dee mie?

  • wow its good to learn here and she is so good to explain the word i willl like to know you friend,

  • thanks for the video! that whenever i go thailand i will watch your vids first to prepare myself!

  • heey thanks for the lesson verry clear joob joob

  • i would be pleased to take u to australia and make u my wife

  • im confused is it krub, krab or krap i watch some other videos one said krap is to be polite and a other video said krub was to be polite

  • @xxxmikeyxxxx the problem is that English scripts can't really be used to show thai words. my suggestion is when you watch a thai lesson video, you should carefully listen to the thai person who's pronouncing it. Sometimes, thai people write english scripts differently, but they all are the same.

  • @metalizaa Korb Koon krab

  • @xxxmikeyxxxx As westernised-foreigners learning thai words, we tend to rely on english transliteration in order to sound out or speak the thai word. There are many systems of transliteration. Some people may type 'khob khun', or 'khaawp khoon'; those are just examples of how people use english to refer to the thai word.

  • @xxxmikeyxxxx from the english way of speaking it is krap

  • Suay mak sexy duay.......^_^

  • now I know how to say Thank you in Thai language everytime I eat at Pho =)

  • Thanks for your help - it helps to hear the pronounciation and not just see the words on paper. You are very pretty by the way.

  • I wish I spoke as much Thai as you do English! Well done.

  • korb koon kah, koon narak mak! :)

  • @sophiebrownnn you're welcome and thank you kaaa :)

  • thanks very helpful chok dee

  • Thank you. I will try these words. I love Thai food, and now in the restaurant I will try `Kap Koon Khrap`....Oh, by the way.... how can I say `It`s delicious!".

  • @Alexoflondon 'Aroi' = delicious, but in thailand when we want to say something like "It's delicious!", we use "Aroi maak!" :) 'maak' = very, a lot

  • @metalizaa Thanks! By the way, which part of Thailand do you live?

  • @metalizaa but you pronounce it like "aloi". R becomes L

  • Comment removed

  • Does your R is like the English R? [except for Scotland]

  • @RoccoLitencourt it's a bit different. The thai one is more vibrated :)

  • how you say "jealous"

  • @aftrlife "jealous" = "Id Chaa"

  • Comment removed

  • @metalizaa ìt-chăa mean envious na :D

    หึง, heung mean jealous :D

  • @sanaell that's also correct, but only in a way :) 'heung' cannot be used when you saw your friend visiting somewhere, or owning something that you'd always wanted to. 'heung' is only used for relationships or such thing like that (for exaple, when you see someone is too close to your bf/gf and you have such jealous feeling) :) normally thai people use 'id chaa' as 'i'm jealous' in general :)

  • hi thanks or kho kun krap. Right ?for the lessons.

  • @mahaverdana hi. you're welcome :D actually it's 'korb kun krab' :)

  • thank you, I am coming to Thailand in sept and I wanted to hear pronunciations. It's true, pronunciations are scary.

  • good work girl very nice lessons

  • This is like Lao! Sa-bai-de= hello in lao lol, i guess yeah they are similar in a way since lao is by thai lance!

  • I live in Jersey CI, it's in the english channel. It's near france but I'm not french. Yeah anyway, I have like 30 thai women at my work, and I guess I could become fairly fluent in thai. One Thai Lady i work with still is learning words from me. Well the more uncommon ones but still, I teach her some crackers. So yeah more videos please :)

  • เป็นกำลังใจให้นะครับผม

    ภูมิใจมากคับผม ที่เห็นฝรั่งก็ต้องการเรียนรู้ภาษาไทยเหมือนกัน

  • Going to thailand too.. it's helpful :)
