Furchtbar, dieses Hippiegeschrammel ... wenn schon Krautrock, dann doch bitte Bands die damals ´nen neuen Sound kreiert haben und nicht solche Troubadoure die auf´m Woodstock-Trip hängen geblieben sind.
I agree to that! But for myself i differentiate between musicians who made music to tell something and musicians/producer who wants to earn money with music. Farian is a moneycollector and his motivations were to sell records, earn money and get famous. And if i'm wrong, his musichorizon is very simple, low and artifical. May be i' going to adjudge him wrong, but thats my feeling and differntiating in old music and new music. And for me Blunt is more a reel musician thant Frank F.
oh shut up with your 70's praisals. in 40 years the people will say: "oh, the 2010 was so great, lady gaga was o pretty, i wich i have a time machine."
@Funnysterste In 40 Years no one wants to remember lady gaga... In 10 years may be U2, Phil Collins, In 20 years may be James Blunt, Coldplay, rage against the machine, offspring, aso will be remembered an we will say "i wish i could use a time machine"... Bands who want to say something with threir music. Artists which only wants to earn monay to have a reason to make music only a few ones will remeber... Thats the reason why only a few ones want to get back to the 70th to hear boney m...
@Funnysterste You go in the right direction, but i don't agree with you completely. Today there are also a few reel artists. I do not know if blunt is one but so far as i know, he is writing his songs himself. He decide where he is going to play and where not (and his managers also... :) ). But if we want to difference boney m and him i see that boney m was made by Frank Farian. All lyrics, the music and may be the costumes. So boney m where more like actors, not musicians. Am i wrong?
@hshmanowin either you like boney m or not. and if you say it was all done by farian, then you must also say he is a good composer/manager. then farian is the real one.
today no one has a chance to sell records or to be shown on tv or played in the radio, if certain people do not let it happen. that is a fact.
don't think so. in 1971, people had problems too, mate. don't forget this. And if you look past, you will only see the greatness of this decade. Maybe in 2050, people will say, that 2009 was the greatest year EVER.
2009 will be better than 2050 the world is only getting worse, the planets resourses will diminish, nature will vanish as more people populate and destroy this world, but we will blow ourselves up in a nuclear war before 2050
Top Drawer stuff- great to see- it's time for culture reclaiming of so much of this- it doesn't fit the music industry business model of fame and making cash so is written out- keep it coming!
Sorry, but no-one can perform this song better than Pentangle. This sounds very insipid by comparison

Love it...wish the entire song was here though. Early 70's music was pretty much excellent across all genres.

know this one from The Pentangle. such a nice piece of music. performing live in the 70's was a bit different to nowadays ;-)

it seems like the girls of 1971 were bombed out of their skulls on speed and acid. Not necessarily a bad thing, of course.

As a kid in the seventies there was less to buy, people were happier.
Buying 'stuff' didn't have the importance that it has in todays world. I miss that lack of rapaciousness.
The modern world is greedy and superficial in equal measure, that's why we have the greatest epidemic of depressive illness in history.
