  • wow.... i was thinking it wasn't going to work but i tried it and im amazed how does it work anyone know??????

  • Thanks !! This really worked!! Saved me from buying a new one.

  • Clearly 16 people don't own candles.

  • So many people getting their sensorbars broken. To damn strange. And yet another 'funny' backgroundstory at hand to tell us why candles are so useful.

    T D

  • THANK YOU!

  • I called Game Stop and tried to buy a sensor bar and they said they didn't sell them separate from the system.I thought you were trying to make fools out of people but since i had some candles on hand, i decided to give it a try. It actually worked. It didn't work immediately, but when i moved candles closer together and aimed the remote between the candles, it worked. That's awesome. Thank you.

  • Who would dislike this?

    Always gotta be haters...

  • OMG THANK YOU!!!

My brother wrecked my sensor cord and I really wanted to play my gamecube games but that was impossible. Thanks man ur the best!

My brother thought it was witchcraft lol :P

  • WTF?? Woks!! Really!!

  • omg this works now i can play

  • yes, just tried it now for skywrd sword..works like a charm, althuogh not perfect, but it works...

  • this is not fake! i have just tried it and it works, you have to have the candles about one foot apart and have them level with the bottom of your television screen. There is even an article on IGN about it.

  • that's pretty crazy....it does work!!!

    thanks a ton!

  • Dude this is sooo sweeeet, thanks I will save 20$ now!

  • nice video tho

  • Boogle? wtf xD lol

  • WOW THANKS!!

  • this really works!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That is so weird haha but thanks for the vid Bro!

  • how does this work if its not plug in to the wii itslef.

  • @tganzo09 I thought this through and thought...maybe it has to do with it having infrared turned on? Because if you think about it, candles are a light source right? So maybe you plug it in for the infra red which makes sense... I'm trying the candle trick tomorrow. Possibly i could get the wiimote to work with bluetooth using my sensor bar while its plugged into the WII! :D

  • @tganzo09 Oh and I mean get the Wiimote to work on my computer.

  • wow it really works my bunnie chewed thru mines u rock ty

  • Thank you!

Mice somehow got a taste for wires, and chewed through my sensor bar wire.

My family was a bit doubtful that it would work. xD

  • NOT fake, my rabbit chewed on my cord.. n i looked for a quick solution this AMAZING video pops up i try it laughing like nahh atint gunna work and DUDE IT DOES!!!!!!!!!

  • your tv has a sensor

  • @ITZKANGMIKE thanks!!!

  • Oh my god thank you so much!

  • I can't believe but it does work perfectly. We're wondering if we can build the wii out of candles...

  • HELP? Sense test should some times 3 dots then 2 but one big blub.

is it position or sesnor bar? before ide order a wired ebay or shops that have wireless. I ise crt tv and sit on floor.not stand. i have read somewireless eat battery quick or have sleep timer you can turn off.

  • is there anything else i dont have any candles

  • Mine doesnt work help! Help!!!

  • Ahhh this is so cool

  • Dude that's so wierd

  • guy,this work!!!!!!!!i do this and work!!!!!!!

  • Reminds me of some kind of Pagan ritual or something, lol.

  • this only works cause the wii "sensor" bar does nothing more than let off infrared beams and the wiimote sends this back to the wii... candles also left off infrared...

  • Holy shit it works! D:

  • Use votives or bigger candles; tea light candles aren't enough. When I tried it, the tea light candles worked but it was spotty. Once I got my votives out, perfect reception!

  • your right i can also see the sensor bar =(

  • fake, you can see the real sensor bar at 0:24

  • @333xan45 it's not a fake, if you'd of actually bothered to try it then you'd realise that.

  • @333xan45 this isnt fake i had a friend try it

  • Cats chewed through my wii bar as well. This does actually work

  • thx thx i gonna try me bunny bitted the snsir thing yaya :D

  • @XmasterremziX same thing happened to me :)

  • it works

    mad fresh man

    thanks

    really came in handy

  • IT fucking doesn't work for me I don't know what the fuck I'm doing wrong

    Help me plz

  • Fdjj

  • holy fucking shit it works O.O

  • really works

  • i think im gonna try this. our sensor bar just stopped working and im broke and cant get a new one.. i'll let ya know if it works for me :)

  • it does my wii sensor bar got cut off in the vacum player the cord gone

  • @comedysuckers1 you can go to walmart or target and get a wireless sensor bar for like 20.00 idk how good they are but hey better than nothing

  • fuck my ass in the New Hampshire snow this actually works!!

  • @Ddahnn

Interesting way to show your delight and surprise at the trick lol. Though I'll admit that it really is insane

  • Every freaking wii sensor bar candle trick has those TINY candles!

  • hey i got call of duty black ops on wii and when i go to zombie mode it doesnt allow me to equip weapons, revive anybody, or open any doors. please help me.

  • Just gotta say it works, not great, but it does indeed work. Keep the room dark and the candles where the lgiht of the TV does not shine where they are. Stay close to the TV and you can use the candles. I would not be able to use them for a game like "Just Dance" but to just get to a game or weigh on wii fit it will do.

  • You are awesome!!

    Just saying.

    Totally works!

  • it doesnt work for me

  • my sister says this is the awesomest thing ever and my mom sais thanks for saving me $20

  • It worked!!! Sweetness!!!!!!!!

  • IM PISSED I JUST CAME HOME FROM SKEWL TO RUN SOME BLACK OPS AND MY TWO KITTENS CHEWED IT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111...WHY ME!!!!!!!11

  • so the wii remote is just a camera that tracks light?

  • @ilikepie100doyou That's pretty much what it is.

  • how does it connect to the Wii?

  • @acoundou The Sensor bar doesn't send any information to the Wii all that is in the sensor bar is 10 or so LEDs the only reason you need to plug it into your Wii is to power up the LEDs. If you haven't tried it you should it's pretty cool :D

  • @toadallyscuba cool

  • @Puttersauce

more info? any idea why it's not working? is the sensor bar connected properly? have you tried it with candles?

  • the sensor bar is only 2 infrared LED lights in a plastic shell.

the wii mote has an infrared camera in the end to pick up the infrared light given off by the LEDs and bluetooth to actually send the signals (e.g. location of pointer, and accelerometer (wii remote plus/wii plus adaptor)) to the console itself. the only reason the sensor bar needs a plug/cable is to power the infrared LEDs and does not carry any information whatsoever.

and as you can see from the video, candles emit infrared

  • That is very useful . need help, my cursor is not showing up on the screen AT ALL. . I'm really upset that my Wii is not working, if you could help anybody, just reply back to me. I would apperacated it a lot. Oh and thanks wellard1981 this video, it is very helpful thanks soo much! I'll sub

  • I just want to know how/why someone figured this out, without looking it up.

  • @rebarave simple. some brainiac pondered on how the hell sensor bars worked then wondered if he could replace it with random objects like, in this case, candles

  • I want to know why/how anyone figured this out. I mean before looking it up.

  • IT WORKS, if you dont believe me i swear to god it works, if it doesnt may god strike me down and kill me

  • not to be rude or anything, but it dosent make any sense, but im not saying it dosent work though.

  • yea this works i've done it......but i like the real one better than this lol

  • whoa i thought this was stupid and fake! but then i kept reading other ppls comments i knew i didnt have those candles so i got a flashlight and it worked perfectly..thankyou!!

  • it works you just cant get more that 3 feet away from the screen.

  • before more ppl start posting ignorant comment read this.

The sensor bar only gives light, the cord connected to the wii is for power, The wii mote detects the light and sends the info to the wii which displays the pointer correctly. So any sorce of light can work, next time put some candle close to your working sensor bar and you will see your pointer going crazy.

  • thats insane

  • hey umm, how far can u go from the tv when using the candle trick?

  • How to fix cable:

cut it open. Find 2 different wires inside. Pair them to the other side of the broken cable. Solder together, or electrical tape. Should work now... Dunno about candles emitting infrared light... I'll have to look that one up lol

  • omg this worked thxxxxxxx

  • @robopeach64

It will work with any Wii, anywhere

  • just use a lighter iv'e already tried it and it does work

  • U poeple that are saying it works why does it work anyway i don't get it

  • @seedot35

It works because candles give off infrared light just like the sensor bar does!

  • My sensor bar is not working idk cause when i point the wii remote to the tv i dont see the cursor or the hand thing and like the buttons on the wii remote work but cursor doesn't show up. Please help

  • You've probably fixed this already, but it's important not to have the sun light up the room, any lamp can also cause problems

  • @IrvingDaBeast Did you try standing far back from your tv? I noticed for a big tv, you have to stand far away then readjust the settings to get the cursor to work. If that doesn't fix your problem, make sure your cable isn't damaged, and that it's plugged in. If you still have the problem, I would guess that your sensor bar itself is broken.

  • here a good one, i need help asap, my evil cat took of both ends of cord of Wii Sensor Bar, i called walmart they dont have a new one what can i do

  • @hero22zippy Go to Nintendo's web site and look for their support telephone number. Give them a call and you can order a replacement part. You will need a credit card handy.

  • @wellard1981 how much are they? an ish number is fine

  • @hero22zippy or just buy it from ebay for like 3$

  • @hero22zippy holy crap man.i tried it out and i worked.how did that work?

  • @hero22zippy samething that happend to my.

  • @hero22zippy For future reference; eBay. Cheaper than a cup of tea.

  • you can wire it to 4 AA batteries

  • haha great Idea

  • Wow it worked. Unexpected but it makes sense when you think about it. I find it works a little better than the regional sensor bar hehe.

  • u need something to secive the signal comming from the remote and going into the t.v!!! the t.v its self cannot understand this and put it into the wii... THIS IS FUCKING FAKE.... i am sorry dude but its just soooo fake i tryed it.... because i belive eveything is worth a try and yea...... fake!!!!!! sorry ddue

  • @CoDMw2Expert

    so is your mom ;)

  • @CoDMw2Expert works fine dipshit

  • you do realize that you can you can use your wii as a sencor

  • THIS DOES WORK, its simple science

  • Wow it really did work stranger

  • omfg it works!!!!!

  • well tv need a candle but i found out that if u using a pc u dont need candles the wii remote work find with out the censor bar just hook up ur wii to a pc and it'll work i tryed no need candle for those who have a pc

  • is real, we tested ... you just need two candles in front of the TV or put them on it and it works.

  • this is fake man i need some real stuff dang where r those useless tutorials when u need em

  • @ITZKANGMIKE Why do you need a tutorial? It's easy. Two candles about 8 inches apart, light them, enjoy (obviously not too close to the TV). You're calling fake because you've not tried it. This does work.

  • @wellard1981 its 12:04 im trying it right now... its not working. it might work for yall but i guess i got a problems with my wii remotes then

  • @wellard1981 I thought it was fake too. But I gave it a shot anyways and it seriously works. ;p

  • @ITZKANGMIKE I am the father of five kids and very practical man, i too scoffed at this idea but tried it because the kids were desperate to watch netflix. I am here to say it works! Not sure how or why but it did and it saved the night. I am flabbergasted.

  • @ITZKANGMIKE it does work because basically in a video i saw this guy explained how the sensor bar works and he said it doesnt transmit data or anything to the wii. the only thing it does is make infrared light from its 2 ends. so if u put a candle where each of those 2 infrared lights would be coming out then the candles would, if im correct, giv off infrared light and thus replace the sensor bar's job. if u arent sure go to the wii mtoe callibration and light a candle and a dot will apear

  • @crystallyx maybe mine was just retarded? idk lol if it works for everyone i guess it is real but it didnt work for mine go i just had it fixed

  • @ITZKANGMIKE youre wrong i have only a wii remote and nunchunk and built in bluetooth i let him recoginise it and then i light 2 candels seperate 10 cm away from the tv screen and it worked perfectly whithouth any lag.

why the wiirimote need only conection and 2 signals of IR and then it moved perfectly try it really recomandation

  • @ITZKANGMIKE the wiimotes ir picks up heat and flame making it work if you had an edutcation you would know

  • @marine626typR if you had manners you wouldn't have had to say that i needed an education... and i know it works now i left that comment a year ago i had no idea

  • thats pretty innovative...i wonder how it works

  • omg this is amazing!!!!!! it worked hahahaha man

  • Couldn't you use the TV screen as a sensor bar?

  • @OMGItsJousis Yeah doesnt a tv transmit led lights?

  • @imhotcause No, there is an IR receiver in the TV, not a IR transmitter, this is in the remote control. The sensor bar is just this, it's a group of IR transmitters that are constantly on when the Wii is on, it doesn't sense anything. The Wiimote has a CMOS sensor in the front that can see the IR light. The Wii CPU then calculates the cursor position on the screen from these two points.

  • @1CExC01Dx10VE oh, this rat definitely was not a pet.

  • The Sensor Bar is History

  • THIS 100% REALLy WORKS I JUST DID it with my friend

  • @DIVENTNA THATS WHAT SHE SAID

  • The wii "Sensor" bar doesn't sense anything. It's just a big bunch of 10 Infra-Red LED's (5 on each side). The "Sensor" is actually in the Wiimote. (Behind the black IR filter at the front of the wiimote). So all the Sensor bar is doing is providing 2 sources of Infra-Red light for the wiimote to detect. That's why candles work perfectly. They emit a lot of IR which we can't see but the wiimote can.For a perfect Candle "Sensor" bar, try putting them the same distance apart as the Wii Sensor bar.

  • i dont know what i did wrong i put the candles there but nothing happened?

  • u r lucky u didnt get a new one the new one i got didnt work

  • my mom vacuumed the back of my sensor bar

  • a lost rat chewewd my bar fuck that rat

  • SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME!

    damn rats. Glad it's dead.

  • AHAHAHA lol my cat chewed the living life out of my wii sensor lol sort of like yours xP

  • yea mines cut in half and theres like no room infornt of my tv 4 candles, would it work having lit candles above the tv??

  • @randumkid3 yes. yes it would. like attaching the sensor bar to the top of the tv.

  • OMGGG this shit is crazy....

i dont't understand this but it works its crazyy....

    thanks man

  • the wiimote is actually the thing tthat sends the information about the location of itself to the wii the sensor bar is nothing more than 2 LEDs for the wii to orientate

  • Actually its 10 LED's (5 on each side). Check it out with a digital cam.

  • fuck me.. it worked!

i cant believe it. i just tried because i had the candles right here..

  • omg i hope this works it looks pretty kool

  • all i wanna know is why couldnt nintendo just let us select things with the d-pad? i mean seriously, its kind of annoying having to maneuver that damn wiimote to the right spot on the sensor bar in order for it to recognize where you are pointing...and to me, it definitely isnt responsive enough...but other than that rant, the Wii is alright...but why couldnt they have put in an internal sensor? oh well idc its fun to play, just not for inpatient people...

  • the Wii sensorbar is useing InfraRed... everything warm radiates infrared, your body does :) so it´s very simple :)

  • omg i adjusted the sensitivity and it works .. but someone tell me how?!?!?!?!?

    AMAZIN

  • will it still work if my was chewed by rats but cut alittle bit

  • didnt work :(

  • i thank you greatly it works but lol its slow as hella lol

  • That works!

  • I cant believe that i tried it and works 5 stars

  • well my dog chewed on my power cord for my laptop so i have like another hour or 2 before i have no power right lol. man sometimes animals piss me off >:( but i still love my dog.=]i am bying another cord off of amozon right now.before i have no power left.

  • lol what if you ahve a led screen =D ?

  • this is awesome. thank you wellard1981 now i can finish my gamei havent played in like a year!!

  • I can't even find a video about this game on your disc channel.. Hehe!

  • Love how the Wii is off.

  • If you look close enough you can see the light on it.

  • im trying this shit..cause i have the most horrible wii wireless wii sensor its terrible...imma try this candle shit my mom has like 3948 candles in the house soo im straight lol

  • I just want you to know you made my night!!!!!!

  • it works!!!!! damn this is weird so we don't need a sensory bar just candles(it WORKSSSS !!! hurray!!!) lmao what next we won't need a wii just a toaster? jp bout the toaster i give this a 5 star

  • yea right,CANDLES ??? come on !!! and my mom is virgin !!!

  • dude I bet u MY virginity....IT WOOOORKS.

    I swear....try it and u'll see..

  • It works, i swear!

  • i promise you this does work i just tried

  • lmfao

  • dude why do you doubt this? wii's are shitty consoles you should have guessed this right from the bat it works but the movement sucks

  • As incredible as it seems, these guys are right after all.

I doubted it would work. I don't own a wii, so I typed in Wii sensor bar candles and followed the links that came up. There are a number of sights that explain that the "sensor" bar emits IR light and has nothing to do with sending info to the Wii itself. I remember being in another room, not pointing the remote anywhere near the direction of the Wii and pushing a button and I got some menu choice.

The remote is a wireless transmitter

  • does it work with any candle

  • Only round ones! lol ... (sorry j/k) ... any two candles will do.

  • thats awsome

  • yea all the sensor bar is good for is giving light to the wiimote so it can work. the sensorbar has nothing to t=do with buttons

  • it works

  • Worked for me, Cool!

  • worked for me and it even said in the manual dont play with candles or uv lights near sensor bar

  • it said NEAR the sensor bar...it didnt say not to use tham as alternative sensor bars lol...

  • cool

  • If you give Nintendo a call, you can get a wired sensor bar for a few quid/dollars.
