  • Very informative, thank you! You have a good heart.

  • @daligoddess2006: You are so wonderful to take care of our world's ferals! I literally stumbled upon TnR in 2007 while walking my dog (I came across a feral cat den with two surviving kittens hiding beneath a board). I have been a devoted TnR rescuer ever since. I have even had three successful kitten rescues that resulted in loving adoptions!! This is hard work, it never ends, and there is a need for feral care in every community. Thank you for bringing this issue to the masses on YouTube!

  • ohh what you can do is get a female cat in heat.. keep her in a cage outside

and set a cat trap next to the cage where the female is .. males will come and will

go into the cat trap thinking they will get closer to her and then snap! lol

and you can neuter the males

  • @busafwine Good idea but have you ever heard a female in heat? LOUD. Don't think the neighbors would like that too much. Ha!

  • ok, I get u r trying to be humane, but these are not adoptable, domestic cats; they are wild, invasive pests. Simple solutions that have worked for my community:

-Trap and Kill (drown, gassed, or euthanasia at SPCA)

    -Shoot them

-Adopt out young kittens and sociable younger ferals

-Poison remaining ferals (a fast-acting agent mixed in tuna so they don't suffer)

  • @jerrynog Sorry, but you are wrong. The kittens ARE adoptable IF you catch them early enough. It's a proven fact, the kittens can be adoptable, well adjusted pets. I've seen the process in action. If people were RESPONSIBLE pet owners in the first place by spaying or neutering their pets, we wouldn't have this problem. That's the point of the video. I love the bird population too. I love all the creatures of the earth and I am not here to judge who should live or who should die.

  • @daligoddess2006 ok, did you even read my post? I said "adopt out young kittens and sociable younger ferals." We did that and got rid of all the hopeless feral adults--the community hasn't had more than 3 or 4 strays/ferals in the two years since. The only side effects have been more birds and more squirrels

  • @jerrynog SORRY. I must have inadvertently replied to wrong comment. Although, your comment about adoption is difficult to read, hidden from my eyes by all the Killing, Gassing and Poisoning.

  • @daligoddess2006 well, that's the honest truth about what our community did, and it has worked very well. It continues to work with tri-annual cullings of new ferals and/or adoption of any kittens that are caught.

  • feral cats kill over a billion songs birds a year...the only way to control wild cat populations is to put them down...they have already caused several native species to go extinct or go on the endangered list...indoor pets? fine. feral? i would rather have them dead than killing more of bird population!

  • I know, it's certainly a conundrum. If pet owners would be responsible and simply spay or neuter their pets, I think it would greatly affect the number of feral cats in the world. I love birds too. I love ALL animals. Feral cats can not help the fact that they are born into the wild, it's not their fault. I feed the birds and the squirrels where I live now. I have moved since I made this video, but I did what I could for the wild cats while I was there. Thank you very much for your comment.

  • Oh, and usually, the No Kill Shelter that I was dealing with, keeps the kittens and and tames them to give them to good homes. If they are too old, they cannot be tamed, that's why they release them back into the wild. HOWEVER, if people feed the cats, it will greatly reduce the number of birds killed each year as well. They kill because they are hungry, mostly. A cat with a full belly usually sleeps most of the day. I have two cats of my own and they are kept indoors.

  • I like your video. you are so great! I adopted two cats.

  • Oh I think that is wonderful! Thank you for giving those two lovely souls a good home!

  • the kitten that put his whole little body in the cat dish is sooo cute!

  • o....k

  • your awesome

  • :) you are great!

  • : ) Did you bring the tuna?

So, wow...I have never seen such a colony, for real. I just never have. I know there are soooo many unwanted kitties and I do think it breaks the hearts of all potential crazy cat ladies! I know it breaks mine. Although I have a doggie now, I used to have two kitties.

    Peace,

    Angie

  • Love the Video. Someone brought me two cats they could not care for anymore. One was Neutered. The other a female was always pregnant before it could be fixed.

Yes, they gave us a pregnant cat. Not only was it pregnant. It will only POOP in the Shower. I love cats. I hate shower POOP. I think my Dogs are getting ideas.

Keep up the good work daligoddess2206.

  • Ha. I had a cat like that years and years ago. She would only poop in the shower too and I HATED that! I got her from the pound. I think she did that because she was an outside cat and was never litter box trained. Then, I got another cat from the shelter that used the toilet and flushed! THAT was a real trip. I LOVED that!

  • Those kittens are so cute! I have 2 cats Patches and Nigel, both fixed. I have had some very frustrating conversations with people over this issue; some people just don't get it. I think what you're doing is awesome!

  • I know some people just don't get it. It is very frustrating! They think if you're feeding them, that is what makes them come. Not true. I am only feeding them because they were already there. Having them fixed merely prevents future generations from forming in the colony. I don't know what it is about that, that people don't understand. It seems perfectly simple to me.

  • LOL you crack me up. Such cute cats. I have 4 myself (3 females and 1 male) The females are on the pill and poppi is just about ready to go to the vet for a little snip snip! ;)

  • When it comes to male cats, I love the sound of snip snip! That's nothing like Snap snap though, is it? Hahahaha

  • You are so sweet! Great vid! I hear of people who let their cat roam and do this! They let it back in like 'no big deal'. If a male went into heat and they had to hear that moaning, they'd fix it real quick!! LOL. I almost bought that action figure in Clifton...lol.

  • Besides going out and impregnating females in heat, a roaming cat wrecks havoc on the local bird wild life. I forget how many birds just one cat, can kill in a year. I googled the info once but I don't have time to do that this morning. Gotta run.

  • that was a good idea about setting up the traps for a few days before. omg at the action figure - that's too funny!

  • Yeah well you want to gain their trust first. They are very intelligent creatures. APPARENTLY. I've only seen one adult since I set the traps out. Also, some will use their paw to slip through the wires and get a bite of food. It's ridiculous how smart they are.

  • I can't believe that there is a crazy cat lady action figure. I love it! Thanks for sharing!

  • Awwhh. the kittens are so adorable!!

Mine are all fixed...all three of them. The bunny isn't tho. Crazy cat figure is too cute...I want one!

  • I want one too. Action figure AND kitten. But I can not have one more pet here. My place is too small.

  • We have an organization here called SAVES - spay and vaccinate every stray. They do the same thing. That's how I got my Jack. Good work!

  • Good for you! I get all of my pets at the shelter. except a friend of mine gave Miss Mollie to me. But she would have gone to the shelter if I didnt take her.

  • Just curious... what DID you want to become?

Big problem catching cats like that. You only catch the bravest first and a few stupid ones after that. You never catch them all... not with that trap.

It took us a week to catch our own cat after he fell from the balcony in our flat.. no kidding. When ever he saw us he was off. (He was 'snipped' so no harm done.

  • I wanted to become a Traveling Artist! lol

Yeah, the Siamese in the window, my cat Tobe, HE got out one time and did the same thing to me, until he got hungry! Both my cats and dog are spayed/neutered. But I was worried about him getting hit by a car or getting feline luekemia because it was rampant in the neighborhood we lived in at the time. He's ok though.

  • OMG...I love your concern and care..its so genuine and needed in the world...spay and neuter...like its supposed to be. like I always say...a true goddess among mortals...Keep up the great work and vids...

Hi people! I love hearing that!

    Your MR. Sista...

  • Helloooooooooooooooooo MR. Sista. Ahhhh, thanks for watching. Yes, spaying/neutering --much needed in this world. Too many innocent. helpless, homless cats, kittens, dogs and puppies are being put to death every year. SSISS! Oh Snap!

  • i love that you're so concerned. im trying to convince my dad to fix our dog (even if he's a house dog) but he wont do it. LOL u can never be too careful.

  • If your house dog ever gets loose when there's a bitch in heat nearby, he WILL reproduce. What kind of dog is he? I know a lot of men who own pit bulls and the men have a pride thing about the size of their dogs balls. lol They don't want to get them snipped because they are PROUD of the SIZE. lol(Not saying this is why your dad won't do it...just saying.) I think that's a terrible excuse NOT to be responsible for one's animal.

  • our dog is a terrier mutt. lol! his mum was in heat and she was a backyard dog. he has the cutest lil' tinieweenie balls ever! lol. i think its a man thing. but in the end we're going to be forced to do it. thanks to california law. :D

  • Hi Dali,

Those cats are precious. I have a co-worker who has adopted 5 cats from the area where we work. She takes such good care of them and she has had all her girls spayed. The twins are Mink and Noel, then there is Lucy, the granny cat she has no teeth and is about 10 years old, then there is Cleo the beauty she is an absynian cat, and lastly Catalina or Catazilla because she is a little wild yet. And she is still trying to get more of them there are a lot of them in the area yet.

  • Your co-worker is doing a lot of good work in the World of Feral. Tell her she should get all her boys neutered as well. May as well "nip it in the BUD" Hahahaha.

  • You are too funny!

But seriously, she doesn't have any boys, YET.

    :)

  • My boys and girl are nutered(my cats, LOL). I watch Animal Planet alot and one homeowner in Texas was a horder and the SPCA put out those traps to catch some of the ferals and they figured out how to feed themselves without triggering the trap door. They stick a paw into the food can and scoop out the cat food.

  • grams~ Yes! They ARE very intelligent creatures! We learned about that "paw through the wires trick" when I went to the Feral Cat Class at the No Kill Shelter. It's amazing what true, unsocialized, feral cats will do to keep themselves 'safe' from humans.

  • I can't even count how many cats...feral and neighbor's...I have gotten fixed. My brother did 9 just a couple of years or so ago, feeding them and getting health check ups with shots annually. Does that qualify him for being a Crazy Cat Man? I think so! I noticed a male that needs neutering and am working on gaining his trust enough to take him in without trapping...he is pretty friendly so hopefully soon. Those kittens are OMG cute!

  • Yes! That'll work. He is officially a "Crazy Cat Man". lol So was the guy who taught the feral cat class at the no kill shelter. But he is doing a wonderful thing for the World of Ferals. We need more people like that in this world. HUMANITARIANS. Actually, we need more people who will take responsibility for their pets in the first place!

  • i love fat cats too! so cute

  • lol Hi Rafa. How R U?

  • Great message! I wish kittens could stay kittens forever...

  • Ohhhhhhh, I know. "Tittens" are soooooooo cute! (a little baby talk...just thought I'd throw that in. That's what I call the babies.) Hahahaha.
