She wasn't a vampire, not at all. She was- err, possessed I suppose? But her demonic heritage was coming out in full force. So she was more a demon then anything else during that period. But, her normally is more a witch/sorceress then a demon, though she is that.

Actually, In the comics, she could technically be called a vampire. It's a long story, but it's The End, comic version (of course, the show edited the episodes a bit so it would be suitable for children...) But anyway, I'm nerdy enough to know she could be called a vampire. ;)
