Just a quick tip. The helicopter performs left pirouette maneuvers the best. Mainly due to the direct drive system and the fixed pitch tail rotor. :) It's the most fun and economical way to practice 3D.
@ 0:14 ... proof that the tail does not easily blow out. He's diving backwards at high speed and the tail is solid... DD tail and HH gyro are pretty darn good on the CP Pro 2. This myth originated from the old Blade CP version 1 which had only a rate gyro not a heading hold gyro, and a geared tail motor. On that original CP the tail did blow out constantly, just like any other heli with a rate only gyro.
Great flying (: how long did it take to be able to do that? Might get one soon either that or an esky belt cp3 but this looks much better because want something that can do decent 3d before i go to my t-rex 450.
Nope that is definitely the stock HH gyro, you can see it at 1:29. This heli will do 3d fairly well, if you have it trimmed right and have good quick reflexes :)
I've done tic tocs, rolls, flips, and funnels with mine. have not had the nerve to try piro flips yet.. need to turn down the tail to pull those off.
Nice flying!!! I have the same heli but still can can't seem to get it flipped over without losing control and crashing. At what point do you hit the stunt mode switch? Are you hitting it before you begin the flip or during the flip?
@cliffhanger4 go into stunt mode on the ground, after you spool up to mid stick. Then fly fast forward, pull back on elevator to do a loop, and at the top section of the loop quickly slide the collective down to half or 1/4 stick (negative pitch), and as you continue to complete the loop, move stick back up to 3/4. Make sure you are in idle up when you do this :)
This pilot... is amazing. Anyone thats ever tried to wrestle one of these CP2's past simple hovering... "RECOGNIZE"... skill... I'll stick to my nice big stable 400 thankies, my CPPro2 days are thankfully over.
I have The BCP P2 and it's a great heli for me to experiment new manuevers on. It's cheap to repair and works great w/carbon blades and a metal head. I'd like to get the 11 tooth pinion, but I'm worried that will wear my lipo's down too fast. I think the heli could use more "pop" for tic-tocs and less authority on the tail for piro-flips. If you use too much rudder while performing them, it'll spin too fast to flip it sucessfully in a flip.
@mrboudin83 I agree, I love my CP Pro 2. It'll do tic tocs stock if you are careful with the collective and don't lose too much head speed. I'm running a DX7 with flat +100 throttle curve in idle up 2. I've been considering going brushless but it's fun to tell people it's a stock CPP2 when I'm doing 3d with it. Have not gotten the nerve to try piroflips for the exact reason you mentioned... tail too fast!
Any one who is on the edge of getting this heli get it. It is totally awesome. I do recomend getting the training gear if your not an advanced flyer. Nice flying by the way. 5*
Nice flying. The 'new' Blade CP Pro (2) is E-flite's response to the need for upgrades to this common, well selling helicopter. Many fliers have already installed brushless main and direct drive tail motors at less overall cost than offered by E-flite.
Personally I enjoy flying this little micro. After some practice it is as easy to fly as my Trex 450 and fits into smaller local flying areas.

ok then. I dont want anything to do with it. I have flown direct drive and ETRM...and they SUCK. You get barely any tail response, and soemtimes the tail wont work in the direction that the torque would push it.
its about 6 months over due. like the ma furion 450. i was going to a cp pro 2 heli but because the took to long i bought a ep gaui 200 to bad for e-flite
Mad skillz!

@hsterling16 power output diminishes. best to figure out how much flight time you average and use a timer.

I could do these tricks on the simulator... but how accurate are they to real life? It was realflight 4 i think...

@cliffhanger4 you flip the switch and turn it upside down and quickly put your throttle almost to the bottom like in the middle it depends

how long does one battery charge give you flight time wise?

Is that one in the video the rtf stock version or a brushless? Otherwise: very nice skills!

very nice cp pro, i have a blade 400, they're both amazing heli's

I find the Blade 400 is somewhat easier to fly though.

i agree, its more stable.

Of course its a much larger helicopter. The blade 400 looks asome:)
Think im going to get another cp and upgrade it. But it doesnt look like it needs much to fly great.
