Personally, I think this is the best film ever made. In fact, I consider it a work of art. Perfect on every level. The photography, the lighting, the acting, direction. It oozes quality.
This movie is an all time classic. I had the pleasure of showing it to someone for the first time the other night...how i wish i could go back in time and see it for the first time...again! I saw this at the Avalon picture theatre when it was first made ...i was the same age as Addie. I have loved this film ever since. if you own the DVD, watch the directors commentary on the making of the film.
PB shot this with and extremely small aperture... it is all in focus — very distinctive when you notice it. he had to shoot in exaggerated very high lighting situations. it is so beautiful when you really look at — even a little car in the background is in focus. The compositions are so beautiful as well... it is such a classic.
IMO, the best movie ever made. In the Bonus stuff on the DVD there is a commentry by the Director, and it makes you realise the film is even greater than you thought. Like at the railway station, kids happy playing through the back window, contrasts with Addie sad on her own on the track. The film is a thing of beauty, real art
As this amazing movie comes to an end I almost wish I could be in that old truck with Moses and Addie as it wonders over the hill and into history ... the best of luck to the both of you.
Nobody mentions that Serbian Director, Peter Bogdanovich made "Paper Moon", absolutelly the best film ever made in USA, film about total hopelesness and despair.
The end of film is something of the best ever seen in any movie, man and child traveling to the Void, vithout return.
Bogdanovich also made another excellent film: The Last Picture Show. I haven't heard of him in years though. I wonder why such a promising career just seemed to come to an abrupt end?
lol i just wrote a comment on another video saying i saw this movie just minutes ago. Its such a good movie and why can't they make movies like this anymore.
I saw the movie 'Paper Moon' when I was very young. It was at the Drive-In Theater in Wexford, PA and was featured with 'The Bad News Bears' (now does this date myself or what!)
saw this movie last night for the first time on HBO Family or some such channel. Awesome writing, acting and cinematography- studios should film more movies in the midwest
I did too! I first saw it with my Dad over 10yrs ago. My Dad had seen this when he was like 18 or 19 at the drive-in. This has to be one of my all time favorite movies. Thanks Dad!

Too bad Ryan's like that in real life. When Tatum got nominated for an Oscar (and he didn't) he is rumored to have punched her.
RatedArggg 1 year ago
@RatedArggg He didn't attend the awards ceremony either (when she won). Ryan is a selfish prick.

Me hace gracia que al difunto le den una corona con "Tu familia no te olvida" y el difunto tampoco porque les "invita" a una biblia.

Both the grain elevator office and gas station in this clip are located in Wilson, Ks. I visited a few weeks ago, and both are still there.

Best movie ever! I always had a crush on Moses Pray (Ryan O'Neal)
He's a good actor.

OF COURSE!
"Paper Moon" by Peter Bogdanovich is the greatest American Film ever made by The Greatesat American Movie Maker Ever. Why?
Because Peter Bogdanovich Is Serb and he knew the "soul" of American vasteland. Last scene of the film is unforgetable and VERY symbolic!
