The subtitles are a great idea for anyone like me hearing this song for the first time. I notice that Abdul Halim Hafez is a little like the semi-classical Indian singer Talat Mahmoud who had a parallel career at around this time and also worked in the film industry. Even their looks are similar.In India people would be in tears listening to this guy Talat Mahmoud and his songs always reminded them of home no matter how far they travelled.I guess Egyptians feel the same way about Halim.
