Thanks for posting - I was at this concert and it was AMAZING! I've haven't been able to find this anywhere since, and it's my favorite rendition of this song.
He originally said Hani Hani come and dance with me, because one of his friends named Hani got assasinated but now they say honey honey come and dance with me
@powerhousek9 Chris Hani wasn't a friend of Matthews he was a political activist in South Africa during the apartheid, which Dave strongly opposed. The original (now defunct) song was called #36 which Everyday evolved from and the chorus was "Hani, Hani, come and dance with me"... However most fans assumed it was 'Honey, Honey'. The lyrics were never officially changed though, and the real hardcore fans will still adamantly state it should be sung 'Hani, Hani'
One of the most underrated moments in DMB history. If any other venue fans would be still talking about it! Granted Darien isn't the greatest but they sure put on some damn good show there!
I love the chick at the beginning yelling for JTR. wasn't she there for the start of the show where it was played in one of the first couple of songs.
