My parents own a civic sedan 84 before they get married,they buy this car i think in 1990 since then this "little greenie"has been our family car even before i born,my car has travelled around Java several times(i lived in Indonesia) there has been up and down with this car,but i really loved it,my parents used this until 2006 after that i took this to a mechanic until now in 2011,hopefully my car can be saved
...as for this generation of Civic, it certainly was not a sedate car in Si form with aftermarket airbox and exhaust fitted - a friend had one and it did not take much for the vehicle to get beyond 180kmh - One had to have ultimate trust with the driver with these vehicles when at high speed, as they were lightweight, and would not the greatest in an accident situation...
My granparents had a 1984 honda civic that was my dads before, it lasted until 2003 and had 198,000 miles on it, what died was the bodywork which had already be welded and de-rusted in the past, the engine and components were sound!
I have a 86 Accord 4 DR I feel like giving away sometimes. I was supposed to get a 99 Civic coupe but I didn't have the cash and I ended up with a fucking family car.
