  • I've been searching for this song since I was in my early 20s-talk about a BANGER!!

  • Gunthypunthy, if you're going in that time machine drop me off around the year '79 or 80 when Larry Levan was doing his thing at the now world famous Paradise Garage. We used to punch in at about 2 am and clock out at 8 or 9 am DANCING ALL THE TIME IN BETWEEN. Timmy Regisford Joe Claussell, LiL Louie Vega and others keep the spirit of house alive!!!

    Keep Bangin!!!

  • scoo scoo scooby doo.

  • Good old days of Bliss in manhattan.....

  • давай давай!!!!

  • La India and the MAW crew rules!!!!!

  • hey everbody we need to invent a time amchine and go back to new york 1993 and just dance hard and forget about this hurtin year 2011 the music thats comin out now brings shame to this beautiful style of dance music house vabys

  • @gunthypunthy Boom!!

  • @gunthypunthy yo!i totally agree with you the 90"s was so all about true to the soul house music-the flava-the style-the groove everything was different and better -vibes were heaven and so was the mood

  • Eargasm begins @ 2:38

  • 8 people have never been touched by(house)music!

  • HOUSE is such a beautiful place. Everytime I hear it -it puts me in a peaceful place. To know there is such beauty in this world.... It unites us all... no anger, no judgement, just vibes and good will!

  • @bulgogi1212 you are so right!!! if only the rest of the world would get this the way we do...

  • I've had the honor of hearing India perform live 3 times, the last was for an intimate gathering of 50-60 people in a small venue. The woman is stunning in real life, she did several accapellas towards the end of her set that left everyone in tears. This woman CAN SING!

She was the first Queen of House. And without a doubt many have followed in her footsteps. Without her voice back then House would've evolved quite differently.

  • scoo-scoo scoooby doo

  • @ch53tm Big Thumbs UP! :D

  • shoo-shoo shoobie doo

  • Had to comment...while I like india and especially the work she had done with MAW...She is in NO WAY the Queen of house...Not when there is sisters like Michelle Weeks on the scene...just to name a few...remember....House is a universal thing...and the Universe is LARGE....feel me...Besides on this particular track I wouldn't actually call that singing...thanx romfordj for the POST....Peace & Love

  • @TheRhythmAlchemist I'm going to look up Michelle Weeks now... thnx.

  • @TheRhythmAlchemist True, but India, although making few house records, was with MAW when they were probably churning out the best house records ever made.

I Can't Get No Sleep, To Be In Love, Backfired, Runaway and Love and Happiness trump anything Michelle Weeks has ever done.

Also I seen most of the house divas perform live, Barbara Tucker, Michelle Weeks, Joi Cardwell etc,etc and as a live performance she dusts all of them.

  • @jonahspj22 the question was Queen of House..you yourself said India only did a few house songs....so in that case that would actully make Patti LaBelle the queen of house..see where I'm going...I never said M.Weeks was the Queen of House just used her as a reference...House was never about King or Queen...it's a universal groove of the people....remember "No one man owns HOUSE"...Peace & Love

  • This arrangement was copied by Orin Walters aka "Afronaught" to create his song "Transcend Me", this Walters's song was later also remade by Bamboos in the album "step it up" (2007), in the Bamboo's album the song was credited to" Orin Walters".....;

I recognized the phrase of the bass listening to this song, I hope that my reply and my research is correct....search on youtube:

    Afronaught - Transcend Me

The Bamboos feat. Alice russel - Transcend me

  • @TheFuturetro @TheFuturetro hence the reason he posted it a few comment b4 yours i guess...?

  • Might also want to add Weather Report's "Non stop Home" to your research too if you like,

but in the mean time, inbetween time, when you're not online, have fun & let your hair down, the future is bright. The future's Happy days, sunshine.

    :D

  • I jizz in my pants everytime I hear 1 of these classic India & MAW collaborations. I get a weird erection that I havta see a Doctor afta 4 hrs!

  • I ain't heard this before, but it sounds wicked. India has got the midas touch :)

  • This brings back such memories of my club days and Masters at Work ruled !!! I remember I would purchase anything that was produced and/or remixed by Masters at Work and this track was on fire !!! I spent many nights dancing to this !!! Masters at Work and India were an unbeatable combination back then !!!

  • india is actually louie vega's(masters at work) wife

  • Shoo shoo shoo-be-doo....

What can you say about the Masters....nobody even comes close to touching their brilliance, especially around the early 90s.

  • I know that's right! They owned the dance floor in the 90s..they still amaze me!

  • Remember CJ Mackintosh playing two copies of this in a warehouse in Hackney and the place went mental, big tune with me back in the mix tape days!

  • TUNE!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ahhh La India...took me years to realize this was a dub (I was listening to the remake off the MAW Album from Cutting Record on CD and never made the connection).
