guppies will only breed with other guppies. u also shouldnt have a ratio of 2 male guppies to 2 female guppies or it will stress out the females. u should try a ratio of 1 male to 2 females.
a little help please will my guppies breed with my gold fish in their tank i have 2 male and 2 female guppies and both the gold fish are males. and just out of curiosity can u cross breed feeder minnow and guppies
@zmanndabeast12325 They will almost certainly not survive, the goldfish will constantly eat every single one. Goldfish have no stomachs so they will constantly eat and eat! And yes you can, they're both the same species, just one has more color :)
well i guess i will have to change their water sloly or do u thinck i could keep them in cool water .because ive had them in cool water for almost 7 months now
@zmanndabeast12325 Yes they are warm water fish, tropical to be exact. You can keep them in temperatures of about 68+ degrees Fahrenheit but much lower then that then they will start to...uh.. you know..die... So yeah! The warmer the better, 78 is perfect! :D
I don't know if someone aswered your question about the floating plant or not, but it looks like water lettuce. It's a lot less agressive other floating plants that will take over the whole surface of the pond. ex. Duckweed. Great vid. by the way! Good luck with the Guppy breeding. :)
the water temp. should be 75-80 degress and you shouldnt hav a filter on when ther in it because the can gat sucked up..... just saying but i lik the video
@briannarocks100 I live in Florida too! Haha, well you don't have to use one during the summer months if you kept them next to a window where there's a little heat. In central Florida it can get down to the 30-40's so I would just keep one of those preset heaters just in case.

@teddybear4197 Yeah the size of the gravel does matter. I recommend you just don't use any substrate at all, have a bare bottom tank. It leaves the fry a better survival rate, be sure to have some plants like hornwort for the fry to hide though! Thanks for watching, subscribe! :)
@TheALANANTONY If you get 20 fry and only 10 survive, usually that's the mother or other fish in the tank eating the babies. You could separate the bigger fish from the fry once the mother is done giving birth.

i dont even post pics or videos of my best and rarr bettas, only the ones i have lots of so spawn every day or few days, the rarer top ones? instead of 10-20 pairs i have 1-2 3 etc so takes 5 months from birth to sellable adulthood so if 2 pairs only few batches year sold out in first week avail so dont want them posted cause people want them all year or wont buy something else while wait 5 months for that 1 kind to be avail like a 180 hmpk black orchid, only avail 4 times a year etc see?

another major tip you will never hear from another soul on earth ( unless they got it from me) is you know how i told you i am fastest conditioner in world and my females spawn every 7-10 days usually 7? ok few conditioning tips of my own invention by far best on earth- group conditionig if you place many many females in their iso cels in large tank or tub ( i use 20 gl round rubbermaid ) and place 1 loose male free to raom amongst them your conditioning time will drop massively and -
is science to it how many days recovery in group conditioning and how many 1 on 1 ( let me know when your breeding ill detail instrunctions for you lay it out ) but part of the time in gruop cond tank and part of conditioning 1 on 1 but ALWAYS when 1 on 1 do not use same male u just bred with! substitute a "pinch hitter" use new male, this stimulates ripening infinitely faster then if use same male for cond !! so swap males on her every time immediately after spawn! watch how fast ! blouaway!

- #4- they worst cause same fish same way as 100 yrs ago and bred in outdoor un sterile diseased parasite infested clay pots ceramic etc and earthen ponds. for any decent genetic breeding of bettas it must be done in environmentally and climate controled indoor facilitys. ponds and ceramic if looked at nder microscope full of pourous holes look like a sponge! parasites like dropsy diseaseparasites burrow deep into these materials and impossibl;e to remove w/o chemicals like bleach but-
-#5- but because of pourous material the bleach or chemicals then leeches into it and seps out for weeks - and newborn or weeks old fry exposed to tiny bit this seepage and will not develop properly etc.for months after and nothing anyone can do to prevent this. so just fact they use same nasty diseased materials for tanks and not changed advanced improved or improved their bettas in forever! there bettas are full issues no where near bestbetta genetics or dna on planet. so -
#6- so the best breeders in world 1- breed indoors in environmentall ( just a bird flying over head and peeing or pooping in their ponds can carry a betta plague etc etc ) and climate controlled ( my hatchery room s kept at exactly 96 all day 365 yr changes even tiny ones in temp can lead to death and deformed development and growth etc must be maintained same temp 5 months for fry ) rooms, NEVER OUTDOORS, and glass is ok but plastic is best and 5 gl buckets of all! because 25 diff reasons-
#7- but heres a couple- 1 if plastic is easy to wipe sterile using nothing but hot water paper towel1 bar none easiest clean 2- it is not pourous like clay pots etc so impossible for pathogens ( diseases) or parasites to live in it sterile! 3- if you have a glass tank and 5 gl plastic bucket in same room full water , the water in bucket is always going be several degrees warmer then water in glass. glas clay etc relase heat plastic insulates it. you can prove this by - -
#8- so if you place hand on the glass other hand on the plastic the glass will ALWAYS FEEL MUCH COLDER and the plastic feel much warmer. 3- ok surface area times air exposure and air movement across surface is what cools water through evaporation which can only take place where surface area exposed to air,, THEREFORE, in 5 gl bucket 4 gallons water very deep with lot thermocline water to fry swim in etc grow in the deeper water the faster healthier stronger they grow develop and -
#9 4 gls water in 5 gl bucket nice super deep with smallest possible surface h2o area exposed to air, in 10 gl glass rectangle tank or large circle 10 gl clay pot or pond etc but 4 gls in 10 gl rect tank is only few inches deep! and massive sur h2o exposure! so water much colder from glass conduction of heat to air vrs insulation of plastic, and the depth and minimal surface area exp to air keeps water in 5 gl plastic round bucket infinitely warmer wit fraction of btu heat energy!!! stable temp
10- i learned at age 13 as deckhand on comm and charter boats in pacific for tuna str's and hali's etc, but evry comm fisherman knows from having bait tanks onboard 24/7 full of hundreds thousands bait fish like chovies dines herring etc, that lot of fish small or large, in a square cornered tank get damaged and even die from crashing into flat walls etc! all pro comm fishermen know any tank full lots fish MUST MUSTMUST BE ROUND NOT RECT OR SQUARED!! the 5 gl round is ideal for tons fry/fish
#11- cause if fish swim they forced follow curvature of circle vrs flat walls square 90 deg corners to ram into etc etc, so fry also is forced to continualy swim forward w/o ever running into dead end, perpetual swimming in deeper water (12-36 inchesdeep) is best !! and ok, move on from fry to breeding adults in round vrs squ or rect ? million times better cause no matter where male goes hes forced circle right back into female, condition infinitely faster better with round cause no distraction
#12 so no matter where he goes any direction any time he still seeing female (btw female iso jar/cell remains dead center of circle 5 gl bucket!) and wherever he goes femal forced see him as well so she ripens facter, he ready and nests quicker, in large rect etc or glass tank the fish can see out into room in 5 gl no distractions the non see through plastic and high walls prevent any distraction and force fish to see each other 24 hrs. and no ditractions= best breeding situation possible!!
#13- in the 10 gl glas or 10-20 gl round clay pots etc the volluum water sprawled out over to mauch area, adding a 1/4th or 1/2 gl water to them doesnt even really raise depth! in 5 gl plastic 1/4th gl is nice improvement in depth. so, what do is breed fry in few inches(5) no more. you wait till 5th day after hatch 9 day 2 or so of free swim) and every 12 hrs add 1/4th gl water to 5gl bucket, this accomplish many main goals a- slowly acclimates them strengthens for botm to top air runs etc etc-
#14 - this very literally forces them strengthen and grow larger and faster about 30% in pks alone then if left in same depth first month of life- and it acclimates them slowly to the depth b- most importantly- in first 1-2 weeks fry way to small and theres 400-1000 or more in 1 batch its impossibility to do water changes and siphon or scoop water out w/o accidently getting ton fry, to filter with net etc damages them severely in first month life! never net fry under 1-2 months old! but
#15- but unable to remove any water ( you must must must use gentle non turbulent sponge filter to breed bettas or no fry make it to adultslol there id d i y ( do it yourself ) video in my d i y series on my channel titled filters, teaches you make all 3 betta filters to breedsuccessfully, you gotta check it will blow you away its 3 parts be sure watch all thre i order) but feeding fry and own emulsion ammonia production poisons water in short tim epoisons them to death if no sponge and dont-
#16- or cant remove old poison water so combo of sponge filter and water 1/4th gl every 12 hrs will dillute toxins etc from feeding and fry breathing and waste ( remember thers 400-1000 lil dudes in there! water goes toxic poisonous in few days tops if not do these things) but dillutes it daily with enough water to keep it healthy in conjunction with sponge filter, so you add it till bucket too full which take weeks at this rate by week 2-3 can transfer fry to grow out tank (55 gl & NEVER USENET
#17- never ever use net on fry under 2 moths old! ask me remind me later will teach you easily in 1-2 comments how transfer w/o any damage or death to fry very easy but never net!) but this is 17 comments already i tired already b4 logged on lol i gonna wrap this up il tell more fill in holes to you another time but you gotta remind me or i forget ok bud? but here you go broseph , in under 20 comment s you just learned more then ever would of in 20 yrs on your own about betta breeding from

#f - but the reason so successful is have better betters then any ne can buy over seas for fraction of price and next to nothing for shipping. 99 % betta breeders & sellers online on you tube are some clown with 1-2 or 4- tanks in garage or apt claims they some great line but arent, has no clue what doing and poor genetics and behaviors in their bettas etc bad breeders, wont fightm egg eaters etc, and my bettas best in world and less then any the clowns bettas on line or youtube for sale!
so if you lok around on you tube at the awefull breeders guys no clue etc they sell for 20 25, 30, 35 and 40 or more, but almost never under 25 or so, my females almost never over 5, my males almost never over 20, and vary greatly on type rarity and show vrs fighters for example etc etc but typically never over 20 and i offer like 20 discounts all utubers 10% off all person under 21 or over 55, all ret or act millitary, honor roll students 4.0 higher gpa discounts, etc so much less then price!!
#h ( forgot last one numbered lol its #g) so if you see betta from me you like and price is 20? it actually end up being closer to 15 or 16 cause all the crazy discounts i offer. if you live ways away from me? further discount on price to combat your shipping cost! so 10 dollar fish prob closer to 7 or so 20 ? prob cost you 16 or so? so you can plainly see why i done so well, best fish and dna on earth for fraction the price of best oversea breeders and fraction of shipping! best 4 less

hahah i messed up numbers on last 3 hahah oh well, so last thing, i was just gona give you heads up on betta breeding - - - your setup is sooo perfect for housing fish and breding some fish, and if just keeping fish its soo perfect,, but rmember 1 thing- - when or if breeding bettas in it remove the rocks just for the day of breeding and 3-4 or so days after, you dont want any medium on botton during breeding or daddy cant find or reach all eggs on bottom ok? rest time perfect!
- and 2 more breeding tips you need- 1 MOST IMPORTANT ignore 99% online and web and you tube breeding articles or instructions, 99 % em written by dudes i mentioned who make up majority of you tube breeders, guys no clue who breed 1,2,3,4 tanks in apartment or garage,, most web betta info is wrong and flawed, one guy reads the flawed turns around repeats it very few should be listened to. 2- remove both male and female after spawn do not leave male in to "guard nest" as most web tells you to
- - - so one of the falsities that appears to be commonknowledge online these days but is completely false, is the male left in nest bit, and to leave him until free swimming stage and not feed him before or during this time, and he only eat the infertile egs, youll read these things 99 % web or you tube tutorials on breeding- its complete b s and totaly false! ignore it remove male shortly after removing female! good give him extra 20 min to put layer of bubbles below the eggs, but
males do not just eat the infertile eggs over time they do always eat small or large percentage of eggs remove them. also, they say not feed em before etc bs ! if you starve your betta for 3 days b4 spawn and 3 days during, you just end up with delioriously starving betta who will eat eggs to fill tummy! duh! and say egs must be picked up by daddy returned, b s if undisturbed wont even fall out hardly any first day - 2 and hatch on day 3 they are fine if on bottom 1,2,3 days. if
- if they do not hatch? they would not of hatched anyway and laying on bottom for 24- 48 hrs had nothing to do with it. but must feed male and female every day leading up to spawn or they just starving! eat eggs much more then if starved then if fed the "feeding wil encourage them feed more and on eggs " is b s ignore! "male mus guard nest return eggs to nest" ignore! so be very wary of any online articles you tube tutorials on breeding most what you read hear is rubbish!
@Asianleful typically yes, just keep close eye if he eats single egg ? pull him! imediately! but if give em little bit extra he'll quickly place thin bubble layer beneath the eggs this will help keep them in nest longer, like is aid do not worry if eggs fall out during the incubation period. typically none fall out first 24 hrs any way if tank not diturbed and nest doesnt rock or wiggle on surface theyll stay while, also- if cover lid place book etc on top'll extend time b4 bubbles popndrop eggs
so place loose lid on top will greatly improve time length prior to bubbles poppin n droppin eggs to bottom, and like i said do not trip if eggs fall to bottom, if they didnt hatch? they werent going to anyway bottom had nothing to do with it especially if they make it more then 1st day b4 falling to bottom. but WARNING reg cover- dont use seran wrap, cause in warm temps as should be in, mold or mildew can grow in the breif 3 days ! so loosely cover dont air tightcover i use books etc

@Asianleful dude it varys so much on type etc example plakkats alone you got rarer 180 half moon pks you got wild tail type pks round tails spade tails so many kinds, the kind and the rarity of coor and pattern etc sets the price. a nice rarer pattern pk like black orchid hmpk overseas show grade? can up to 200 bucks. more average types 40-60 and thats pks which are easiest breed the more elaborate species like double tails hms and cts are more then pks harder to breed lower rate survive etc!

@Asianleful hey man i like that tank but you should be aware that that kind of plastic releases chemicals that can seep into the water. if you want them to be healthier use food grade plastic or a glass aquarium. Otherwise thats a great little setup u got there.

guppies will only breed with other guppies. u also shouldnt have a ratio of 2 male guppies to 2 female guppies or it will stress out the females. u should try a ratio of 1 male to 2 females.

I don't know if someone aswered your question about the floating plant or not, but it looks like water lettuce. It's a lot less agressive other floating plants that will take over the whole surface of the pond. ex. Duckweed. Great vid. by the way! Good luck with the Guppy breeding. :)

@briannarocks100 I live in Florida too! Haha, well you don't have to use one during the summer months if you kept them next to a window where there's a little heat. In central Florida it can get down to the 30-40's so I would just keep one of those preset heaters just in case.

@teddybear4197 Yeah the size of the gravel does matter. I recommend you just don't use any substrate at all, have a bare bottom tank. It leaves the fry a better survival rate, be sure to have some plants like hornwort for the fry to hide though! Thanks for watching, subscribe! :)

#13- in the 10 gl glas or 10-20 gl round clay pots etc the volluum water sprawled out over to mauch area, adding a 1/4th or 1/2 gl water to them doesnt even really raise depth! in 5 gl plastic 1/4th gl is nice improvement in depth. so, what do is breed fry in few inches(5) no more. you wait till 5th day after hatch 9 day 2 or so of free swim) and every 12 hrs add 1/4th gl water to 5gl bucket, this accomplish many main goals a- slowly acclimates them strengthens for botm to top air runs etc etc-

so if you lok around on you tube at the awefull breeders guys no clue etc they sell for 20 25, 30, 35 and 40 or more, but almost never under 25 or so, my females almost never over 5, my males almost never over 20, and vary greatly on type rarity and show vrs fighters for example etc etc but typically never over 20 and i offer like 20 discounts all utubers 10% off all person under 21 or over 55, all ret or act millitary, honor roll students 4.0 higher gpa discounts, etc so much less then price!!

hahah i messed up numbers on last 3 hahah oh well, so last thing, i was just gona give you heads up on betta breeding - - - your setup is sooo perfect for housing fish and breding some fish, and if just keeping fish its soo perfect,, but rmember 1 thing- - when or if breeding bettas in it remove the rocks just for the day of breeding and 3-4 or so days after, you dont want any medium on botton during breeding or daddy cant find or reach all eggs on bottom ok? rest time perfect!

@Asianleful typically yes, just keep close eye if he eats single egg ? pull him! imediately! but if give em little bit extra he'll quickly place thin bubble layer beneath the eggs this will help keep them in nest longer, like is aid do not worry if eggs fall out during the incubation period. typically none fall out first 24 hrs any way if tank not diturbed and nest doesnt rock or wiggle on surface theyll stay while, also- if cover lid place book etc on top'll extend time b4 bubbles popndrop eggs

so place loose lid on top will greatly improve time length prior to bubbles poppin n droppin eggs to bottom, and like i said do not trip if eggs fall to bottom, if they didnt hatch? they werent going to anyway bottom had nothing to do with it especially if they make it more then 1st day b4 falling to bottom. but WARNING reg cover- dont use seran wrap, cause in warm temps as should be in, mold or mildew can grow in the breif 3 days ! so loosely cover dont air tightcover i use books etc

@Asianleful dude it varys so much on type etc example plakkats alone you got rarer 180 half moon pks you got wild tail type pks round tails spade tails so many kinds, the kind and the rarity of coor and pattern etc sets the price. a nice rarer pattern pk like black orchid hmpk overseas show grade? can up to 200 bucks. more average types 40-60 and thats pks which are easiest breed the more elaborate species like double tails hms and cts are more then pks harder to breed lower rate survive etc!

@prowilsontanman its perfect for whats hes doing lots of fish species like guppies bettas etc breed far higher survival rates and health whenbreed in 1-3 gallons any more they do not survive well or develop properly. if needed larger grow out tank later it wont be for 3-4 months anyway thats a third of year or more they SHOULD be in smaller tank before giong to transfer them to larger tank. its sort of messed up that whilst your wrong the whole time u also mocking picking on nice very young kid

no its impossible to breed in this pond. I tried that too in a 2.5 gallons tank but they died. 2 guppies need at least 5 gallon tank.

@Asianleful hey man i like that tank but you should be aware that that kind of plastic releases chemicals that can seep into the water. if you want them to be healthier use food grade plastic or a glass aquarium. Otherwise thats a great little setup u got there.

well if u knew about fish u would know that plastic and heaters are extremely dangerouse and plastic leaks plastic into your water so does that old heater of yours
