  • Do you have a version of this with the missing stanza? It's one of the most powerful parts of the song

  • @IGOTAROCKSON

    No, I don't.

  • This song is very beautiful and too sad...But I like it very much.

It is known as "河の彼方に (Kawa no kanatani) that means "Beyond the river" in Japan.

I'm sorry we have no Japanese lylics.

    Many thanks.

  • @RussFolk

    Wow. Thank you.

Didn't know there was a Japanese version.

I really like the Japanese version of "Millions of Red Roses" though))

  • The ebb and flow of class conflict, in the struggle for Soviet power,in the clashes between the KPD and the SA in the streets of he 20's and 30's Berlin and on and on, this song is for all those young red heroes who gave their lives to end the rule of international capitalism and for humanity to begin a new higher stage in its development-one without wars, hunger, unemployment and bigotry.

  • @michaelkulyk

    Yes indeed.

  • Composed in 1924, it was the first Comsomol song. The lyrics were brought by N. Kool, a poet of Comsomol. The melody is based in the russian air "A sun has risen in Siberia". N. Kool was serving in the new born Red Army in Moskva and his young comrades complained repeating all time the same international songs. Civil war veterans spread this song all over the rising Soviet Union.

  • @fran44

  • Just to make it clear: I'm not a communist.
