The thing I will keep in mind is to use the same method from your electra unit ball. Each side of the pentagon will be surrounded by one triangle.

Great video but i'm confused n the whole 12 pentagons (5rings) and 20 triangles (3 rings) thing. Could you tell me how many single curler unit i will need for this? that way, putting it together might be a little easier for me. Thanks so much for this video!

It says in the vid: 30 single curler units for this icosidodecahedron. Each waterbomb base tip is a vertex. Of course the edges that make up the pentagons and triangles are shared between them ;)

HA! I finally was able to mess around with more curler units and decided to try and make a curler unit from a pentagon instead of a square. Made an easy icosahedron from 12 pentagonal curlers. The spikes are taller on pentagon curlers too so it looks kinda neat.

Neat little experiment for others to try :D

Larger units can be 24 units for Snub Cube or 60 for Snub Dodecahedron.

For anyone that lives in humid weather or wants to make curls easier, try making this model with foil paper. It looks absolutely STUNNING and will never uncurl because of the humidity and it reflects light beautifully!

PLUS, they hold together so well that the Cuboctahedron version is very very simple.

The 12 unit curler is a cuboctahedron ... not a rhombicuboctahedron, the rhombicuboctahedron is the white one in the middle in the background and is only 6 units but quit difficult to put together without glue ;)
