  • This song is amazing. I was there. I go to Gilmore and preformed this song. It was amazing. I loved it. I was honored o sing with you and just Amazing.. :)

  • Outstanding! A terrific piece, and very well performed here. This is such a good song!

  • @jasonlyleblack Thanks once again, Jason!! BTW, Prior to the dress rehearsal (on the day of the performance), after the oboist mentioned that D-flat above middle C is one of the worst sounding notes on the oboe, I quickly rewrote the opening oboe solo! Listen to the studio version again to hear the difference :)

  • This was a truly moving performance and I feel honored to have been forwarded the link. I am going to post it on my Facebook page to share with my family and friends.

    Thank You.

  • @Carrottop4u Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed, and I appreciate you sharing it! The poem really stood out when I found it, as it's exactly what I wanted to say to my daughter (Kayla) upon her graduation! And then, the music just flowed because the poem was so inspiring :) I'm humbled that you were moved by this! Have a wonderful day!

  • It's been a long time since I've been in a choral group and this took me back many years...it gave me goosebumps and tears. Beautiful song. Great performance

  • @chubbygrandma Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed, and you can always join a community choral group or church choir! It's great for your soul :)

  • Beautiful music, great text and wonderfully performed. I'm a professional choral conductor and singer in Las Vegas. CONGRATULATIONS!

  • @lvchoralman Thank you so very much! What an honor to hear from someone of your stature - I'm very humbled :) Please let me know if you're interested in performing this. God Bless, - Eric

  • YOU MADE A DIFFERENCE IM CRYING

  • congratulations on a job well done! What microphones did you use to get such a well balanced sound between the piano, oboe, & voices?

  • @jakesterman25 Thank you for the kind words, Jake! There are 2 main mics (Shure KSM-27s in x/y configuration) in front of the choir, oboe, and piano. This gave a nice blend of the choir and oboe, but not enough piano, so there's a mic hidden inside the piano. Additionally, to get more of the elementary choir (left) and middle school choir (right), I used the wireless handhelds that had been used for solos earlier in the concert. Condensers would have been better, but it helped for balance!

  • ji case high school choir number 1 in wisconsin

  • omg i remember this when we sang this u cant really see me because the tall guy dan is infront of me but its a lovely song!!!

  • @materialgirl369 Thanks so much for singing, and for your kind words about the song! It was a beautiful performance by all the choirs :)

  • wow can i have a track of this and lycrics?

  • @Loverdr809 Hi! I'm glad you enjoyed the song! When you say "track" are you looking for the background music to sing to, like a karaoke CD? Also, if you are a music teacher or choral director, I have the sheet music available it you're interested.

  • The kids enjoyed singing your piece at the March 25, 2010 festival.

  • @joinchoir Thanks Jack! Your choir impressed me so much, not just in my piece, but the other songs as well! They knew all their parts, and they sang so musically - with feeling and excitement! What a treat is was for everyone to witness! God Bless, - Eric
