@rodslinger86 ...No this was originally Willow Run Raceway or Oklahoma City Raceway located on IH 40 and Choctaw Rd. (North Side of the interstate). Was Frontier for only a short time.

Thank You Thank You tag534 for posting this. It was an absolute joy! I'm 57 and do indeed remember flag starters at Tucson Dragway in the late 60's. I was a frosh in h.s. when this race was held. Not yet driving, I read every Hot Rod type mag there was, but I NEVER heard of the idiot mowing down the flag. WOW. Do you recall who it was and what became of him. I only drag raced a few times in the early 80's. Tell me, was AHRA looked down upon by most pro racers? Were the purses usually smaller?

I have never heard of Frontier Intl' Raceway. Must not have been around very long...anyone remember anything about it? Where in relation to OKC was it? Thanks for posting....very interesting slide show...love the flag starter!
