  • la marangona ?

  • assassin's creed 2

  • It is perfectly normal to turn a bell when there is considerable wear from the clapper. It does not produce additional stresses.

  • its called a clapper

  • @rexysvideos

When i went up there the 3 bells were ringing.

It was beatiful, it made like a song.

  • The striker has worn away the corrosion that's on the rest of the bell, so it looks shiny in comparison.

  • whats the mass of the bell:)

  • Its kinda eerie...... I love it

  • I am amazed at the response to this video. When we first went up the tower and they said the bells would ring at midday, I thought they meant some other ones higher up or something. As you can see the bells are large and if ALL the bells were ringing I am sure it would be deafening. As it was, only the one bell went off and it was loud. I didn't notice the worn part on the bell to start off with. Certainly generated some discussion. Anyone been up there when more than one bell has been ringing?

  • I'm not sure that the striker has actually worn right through. I think it is just a shiny spot where it hits.

  • @rexandliane

that's due to the clapper repeatedly striking the metal...

it's like what you get with a jackhammer in concrete...only slower and not too much power...

  • @rexandliane That shiny spot is the dent that always been hit by the bells clapper.

  • I'm surprised that the bells aren't made so that they can be periodically swiveled around on their axis so as to provide a new spot for the striker to hit. This bell we see up front has worn clear through the spot where its striker hits. I do see by the way it is fastened that it would not be possible to do so with these.

  • @twicon

LOL. i heard of arabs being scared of bells LMAO

  • bella campana
