I got my college degree through the military, whether you agree with the military or not, you can actually get some real world job experience, build your resume, and earn your degree at the same time. It's not easy, but it works.
I am a part of it because I want to have a job available when I graduate. Unless you have connections, all students need to be involved in anyway possible.
You are retarded what % students go to for profit colleges? Give up your hatred against for profit schools just because you were ignorant enough to get schemed by one. Your stupid is no ones beside yours
@chowner Hey don't get mad at me because you can't write properly. Ana didn't go to a for profit college, btw. And someone should speak out about the fact that people are being swindled by these frauds. So I guess your entire post was just mindless garbage, which kind of makes you a troll. Would you me to correct your remaining syntax errors?
@571jans "Would you me to correct your remaining syntax errors?" WOW - Also she did go to a for profit school there was a video very recently were she addresses this. So again troll here's a cookie.
@chowner She didn't go to a for profit you moron, she went to CSNU. Cursory google search. WOW. What is the saying, "often wrong but never in doubt?" I feel this applies to you. Your stupid is no ones beside yours.
@DeJack You need a solid, marketable idea to start a company. You can't just peddle useless widgets and hope you'll be profitable. Besides, to start a company you need start up capital. Who's going to front that money? Banks? Right. Where is your pay check going to come from? I know! Just get on welfare while you are getting started.
@leptonsoup337 Ideas are shit, execution is king. VCs and Angels are everywhere. You can also bootstrap and make use of family/friends. Also Banks still give out loans.
Good point about bootstrapping. It's an excellent tactic (one I am using right now... quite successfully I might add). Although I still think people need to generate quality ideas (even if that idea is just more brilliant execution than the other guy).
How about the greed of public institutions? These university presidents are ridiculously well compensated. I am sure that they are "top talent" and they must be worth every cent.
So debt is good? It doesn't matter who its going to really. Debt is a bad thing. Period. You don't want to be in debt. But since you love being in debt, you must certainly love Obama. Obama is the king of debt.
@MrHav1k Some debt is good. Parents take out loans for their children's education. Debt drives investment. Too much debt is bad. It's never good to condemn something when there are both sides to it. Apply it to your everyday life.
Precisely the kind of debt I DONT FUCKING WANT. Fuck debt. Debt drives investment? The fuck? I personally don't want any debt, period. Student loans are among the worst debt you could have, especially when there are no jobs thanks to Barack...
@MrHav1k It fair to blame Barack on the lack of jobs. We should blame the entire government for their inaction, greedy corps and bankers for hollowing out businesses and banks, and everyday, dumbass tax payers for sitting around during "the good times" while all of this happened under their noses while telling their kids "get college educated and take out loans! It's "good" debt! With a degree you are entitled to be middle class and make of money! You can write you own ticket!!!1".
@MrHav1k "There are no jobs thanks to Barack". Don't you mean thanks to Bush? Unemployment has been slashed from 11% to 8% since Obama became President.
Obama spent $5 Trillion and not a damn thing is better. People's hours are being cut so they're making less money. The 8.6% was because of holiday jobs. I'd be glad to see Unemployment go down, but it probably wont happen. Bush caused this, but Obama has made it worse, He's had three years to fix this shit and he hasn't.
@DeJach No credit? School debt? Bad economy? Erosion of middle class buying power? Crumbling infrastructure? Corporations destroying small business? You're fucked.
@571jans Perfect time to start your own company instead of hoping things will get better and hoping you'll get taken care of. Learn how to program and come to the Valley, work real hard for a few years, and leave a millionaire.
@DeJach Lol with all that opportunity I suppose you are raking in the millions? Jesus you're just dripping in condescension. I'm lucky enough to have the financial backing to pay for med school fyi, but I'm not blind to the fact that opportunities are shrinking and costs are rising for the mass of the middle class. Nor am I enough of an asshole to blame it on them and peddle such mindless bootstrap nonsense. Try putting down the Alger books and reading the news instead.
@571jans Pretend it's a few years from now and I'll say "yes". I'm still in the "work real hard" stage. I've never looked at an Alger book (I do own a geometric algebra book, maybe more people need to read those), but I do read the news frequently. Did you know that the total exit value for 522 VC-backed companies in 2011 was $53.2bn? That money isn't imaginary. I also don't put all the blame on the people themselves, they're just one part of a control system that determines the output.
@DeJach Right. Call me in a few years then, when you've got your share of those billions. Assuming that your job hasn't been outsourced, or that the economy hasn't crashed again, due to the rampant SEC corruption (an Occupy grievance if I'm not mistaken). Btw, I'll bet that the majority of those billions aren't going to entry-level programmers, just a guess.
@571jans It's hard to outsource yourself... I guess you can outsource parts of yourself, letting others do the boring work no matter where they live is useful. And in a 1-20 man operation even the lowliest member is likely to get something substantial. (Usually based on seniority since early employees take a higher risk with the founders taking the highest risk.)
@571jans The top 10% programmers and developers (managing programmers) make rain, but anyone graduating with less than a C average will have trouble finding good work (if they're not skilled or inspired in a way not shown in standard scoring).
Basically, all engineers with a B average or above can pick and choose well paying jobs, while those with lower scores have a though competition. D average engineers are generally not viewed at "competent labour" by the industry.

Ana welcome to the real world.
Ignorance is high no matter your education.
You can be uneducated and smart.
and well educated and ignorant/stupid
I thought the Republicans had proven that point already & the politicians and bankers in my country as well.
It is ironic when people dont get a job because they are uneducated while someone educated gets the same job and barely works and is lazy.
Just saying. education doesnt mean your intelligent. just that you got a good memory.
